Costa Rica is way safer and you have great clean water ,a Blue zone country, caribean, pacific, mountains, volcanos, forest, all tipe of weathers in a few hours driving because is a Small country.
Mexico is great too! but to many people over crowding and can't compare to the Pura Vida life style ..

    • @PlanFree
      @PlanFree  7 месяцев назад +1

Many of the benefits that you list for Costa Rica are true, it's a fantastic country.
A couple things we may debate though. You mention Costa Rica being way safer than Mexico, but we found a much higher rate of break and enter in Costa Rica than in Mexico. And regarding overcrowding it depends on location as we have been in overcrowded locations in both countries. Conversely we have been in sparsely populated areas in both countries too.
How long have you spent in each country?

On June 5, 2020, through Law No. 9849, the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Costa Rica added the following paragraph to article 50 of the Political Constitution: "Every person has the basic and inalienable human right of access to drinking water, as an essential good for life.

There are beach communities in Mexico that are already quite high priced....many expats live there and there are tourists paying high prices for rental accommodations...
But both in CR and Mexico, there are still pockets of less discovered areas in both countries that a person can live more like a local and inexpensively. It all depends on what a person wants for standard of living also, right?

Good video! I would suggest other differences between Costa Rica and Mexico are the quality and diversity of real estate options, the variety of cultural events and venues, the multiplicity of social strata and activity. But also to match the militarization of police, there is an extremely pungent organized crime presence to watch out for, which likewise isn't as notorious in Costa Rica.
Also, nationalism seems to me is more pronounced in Mexico while Costa Rica is more socialist, that is, Mexicans are generally more Mexico-centrist while ticos are more internationalist.

Well yes, the organized crime aspect... it doesn't top our list for Mx's pro's that's for sure! Nor do the very corrupt and inconsistent military, police and governmental systems in general. It's some time the wild west, or south as it were!
Both countries are incredible to visit and experience. I think the overall win goes, for us, to Mx. We're food and lower cost if living fans!

The population of Costa Rica according to this same agency is 5.09 million; while the government maintains that there are 5, 213, 362 million inhabitants. It must be considered that Mexico receives many migrants in transit to the United States, with different origins from Central America (mainly from El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua), Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, but there have also been irregular migrants from Ecuador, Colombia, and of course from the African continent, and also expels many migrants to the United States. Costa Rica receives Nicaraguans who come as political refugees fleeing the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo. In both countries there is a lot of xenophobia and racism towards non-white migrants. In addition, Mexico receives a lot of attention for its cultural and ethnic richness, and I agree with those who say that a plus point is that you can drink water directly from the tap in Costa Rica. On the other hand, neither in Costa Rica nor in Mexico do we need more white residents and tourists who only come to gentrify our cities and towns, generating more inequality. STAY IN CANADA OR THE UNITED STATES, YOU ENJOY YOUR DOLLARS AND YOUR LIVES THERE. THE MINIMUM WE EXPECT IS THAT THEY AT LEAST REFLECT ON HOW THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF "HOW CHEAP" IT IS TO LIVE IN A "THIRD WORLD" COUNTRY AS WHITE PEOPLE. We already know the benefits of our lands and our people, we don't need a Canadian or a gringo to come and compare both countries. Stay home, whiteies!

Costa Rica receives Nicaraguans who come as political refugees fleeing the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo. In both countries there is a lot of xenophobia and racism towards non-white migrants. In addition, Mexico receives a lot of attention for its cultural and ethnic richness, but Costa Rica receives the same attention for its natural resources and beautiful landscapes. THE MINIMUM WE EXPECT IS AT LEAST YO REFLECT ON HOW YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF "HOW CHEAP" IT IS TO LIVE IN A "THIRD WORLD" COUNTRY AS WHITE PEOPLE. We already know the benefits of our lands and our people, we don't need a Canadian or a gringo to come and compare both countries. We have a lot of problems, we dont't need more inequalities. So, stay home whiteies!!!

      Hey @M B, not sure who you're speaking to...us?
We're Canadian and as Canadians we have welcomed a plethora of migrant and immigrant populations and peoples from all over the world. Times change. Governments allow or disallow travelers and immigrants. As inhabitants of a country, we feel that our job. And our attitude is one of welcoming those people. It's disappointing to hear your stance on the issue.
The world in general is becoming more populated with people moving in and out of countries and all over the place to find the life that they seek.
We hope you find something positive in the situation and stay warm and welcoming to the people who seek a better life or their ideal location, in or out of your home country. 🙏
Thanks for watching, if you did!

@@PlanFree You definitely don't have reading comprehension, or you're not interested in analyzing what I've put forward, which is far more disappointing. But that's your work, not mine. I just want to give you one more piece of information: Canada, which is a country that receives many immigrants from all over the world, curiously enough, only has 1.3% of the Latin American population (while Canadians and Americans have invaded many Mexican beaches, especially since the pandemic that affected them, allows you to work from the computer). Have you thought about the living conditions of temporary Mexican agricultural workers, and also Guatemalan, Honduran and Jamaican workers, on farms? Why do Candians accept that mainly Mexicans arrive in the summer as "tourists", when you know very well that they are going to work picking fruit: cherries, apples and grapes? What happens to the Latin American people who come looking for better living conditions, and are always relegated to jobs that many Canadians no longer want to do… such as construction? Have you seen how there are hundreds of young Mexican men working in construction or Mexican women cleaning houses? Have you seen how people from India and the Philippines are in the services attending the windows of Wendy's, Tim Hortons, etc.? When a Latino/a goes to ask for work without a work permit they look at him/her as if he/she were a criminal, the examples are numerous. AND NO, IT IS NOT THE SAME TO BE A WHITE MAN OR WOMAN LIVING IN LATIN AMERICA, WITH DOLLARS IN THEIR POCKETS, AS TO BE A LATINO/A COMING TO CANADA LOOKING FOR WORK. I REPEAT: white people who take their dollars to Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, help to gentrify the cities where they come to reside (on many occasions they don't even bother to learn Spanish) and this generates more INEQUALITIES. STOP BRINGING THE WHITE EMPIRE EVERYWHERE, and don't be hypocritical with your words: "We're Canadian and as Canadians we have welcomed a plethora of migrant and immigrant populations and peoples from all over the world. Times change [...]" People of color should ALWAYS be welcome, but there are people like you (y’all), who always want to bring "the white empire" everywhere, it's a form of "modern" colonization. Educate yourself! And yes, I will stay positive and warm on this issue… I just hope that you will be more receptive and analytical on the subject of immigration, gentrification and inequalities. STOP ROMANTICIZING "as inhabitants of a country, we feel that our job"...

Hi again, yeah to be honest we put out information for people based on our own travels and based on our experience. We certainly don't experience every single thing there is in every country. We don't have time to analyze everything that you wrote, no, and we are not here to argue that's for sure! We've got friends, family and our own businesses to run and information to try to help other people with but your comments are great and give other people food for thought so that's cool!
Thanks for writing, again, @M B.

Hi @Mario707, first: thanks for watching and for leaving a comment, that really helps our channel and we appreciate hearing from our viewers! 👍
For your question, gosh....isn't that EVERY where though?
You know, we have traveled a good many places in north and central America and we have found that the crime and theft is an issue everywhere. We can't think of ANY place where locals and tourists haven't been touched by it. Sad but true. All over. Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, Guatamala, Belize....etc
But, you know what? We hear of many thefts and crime in our own Canadian cities too!
So, we recommend taking precautions, brushing up on some street smarts and toning down the huge gold chains!
      🤴🤟💎📿💍
We feel as safe or safer than Canada in any country we travel in. 😘

@@PlanFree thanks for your reply. I've been to Panama before c19 and you normally didn't get robbed there because of a phone (as it happens in other places like Colombia). But after the c19 lockdowns and govt destroying economies, it's probably more dangerous now. I wondered if Costa Rica was similar to Panama in that regard or if walking around with a phone outside is a no-no

    • @PlanFree
      @PlanFree  2 года назад

Hi @Mario707, we lived in both countries before C19 and found that in both countries there were cities and pockets where a person would have had to be on guard against theft. But we'll say it again, we find these same types of pockets in our own Canadian city and all over the USA also.
Street smarts and being diligent with security are important.
      Safe travels!

You sound like a very passionate person @moreno 2000, we should have perhaps added in the PASSION that many awesome Mexicans possess to our list of comparisons! haha/jaja
Seriously though, people who travel the world often compare places. It's natural. You do it in your own country, just like we do it in our country of Canada. You perhaps "prefer" or "compare" areas such as the beach, or the desert, or the mountains....it's a human trait to compare. It is not malicious, it is simply for information. :)
Some people need to live in a more humid area of a country or in the world....they may need the info.
We also have learned a LOT from other travelers comparing places, info before we go. Our video was simply another tool for of study of information for those who do not know.
      Keeping it positive.

By the way thank you for watching, if you did, we appreciate it and the thumb's up! ...if not on this video then of the EIGHT other videos that we made specifically on the beauty of places in Mexico, no comparisons! 😘

We applaud you for patriotism. 👍😊
But, you are missing the point. Did you even watch the video?
Some places have things and some don't. Some places are desert-like and people like to live in that kind of dry climate, other people require more humidity. Some need a lower cost if living, or to be able to grown their own food, some need a city and a Costco! Some people dont know that places have water that is undrinkable for example. We are all different, countries are also all different. This video explains and compares, for those that want to know.
We simply help people decipher the differences so they can better plan a trip or a move.
