It's really nice how your older children look after the younger ones. That's what you get with good parenting! Respect :)

Supermarket is a large grocery store with a few non grocery things. A grocery store is usually smaller (IGA). There's also Aldi.
Kmart etc is not a supermarket in AUS cos it doesn't sell groceries. Yeah, Aussie English is weird but it works for us LOL It's more of a "variety store", and then there's the "department store" such as Myer or David Jones.
There's also the online options: Kogan, Catch, AppliancesOnline, plus all the shops you saw, though you probably didn't have the time to wait for delivery.

Just say Woolies :) Main food supermarkets are Coles & Woolworths. Then Aldi for less products but slightly cheaper. IGA & Drake for Independent Grocers. Kmart, Big W and Target are clothes and homewares etc. Costco is a mix of food and homewares etc. Bunnings is a Hardware store on steroids.

You'll find that Aldi is a similar price to Costco, and without the 2 hour return trip (and associated fuel cost).

Woolworths used to be in Utah, but I don’t remember groceries. It was the essentially a “5 and dime” store. They had a s😅odd fountain with the best Chocolate cake!!

Lol but its itchy af lol. Barong is so primitive honestly. Not even stylish or even comfortable. Gosh sometimes misplaced pride is annoying af and embarrassing.🙄

I really dont think shopping at Cosco is good. I would recommend for "stuff" to go to K Mart and for MOST Groceries to go to Aldi and top up at either coles or woollies

Just want to make you aware that in Australia children need to be in a car seat until 8 years (depending on the states regulations). We have very high safety standards (for everything) in Australia and they are unforced quite strictly. Also on this everyone needs to wear a bike helmet when riding a bike (I think that also goes for scooters too) You may want to look into those kinds of laws in QLD

Don't look for Costco. They are in Australia but they are terrible! Poor quality food and products just like in the USA. Oh wait, :)
