    Thanks so much for sharing. This is sort of what i wanted to do but most videoa guys are making stud walls and complicated roofs... I just want a place to store aome mulch and outside stuff...plus i rent.

      This is the easiest and probably the cheapest way to go. In the next few months I'm gonna add on to this one. I'll try to make a video lol.

    I'm probably too late to comment, but first of all excellent job! Personally I'd add another building vs adding on. Stick with 10' deep and increase width...maybe 20'? You've shown you can handle the 10' pieces by yourself, and if you get into a 20×20 or something things get tougher. I'd lay down the crusher run first so you don't have to monkey with it later. Great work, and good luck!

    It ain't gotta be perfect,its just gotta be. I think it's a fine shed,serves its need now and will for many years to come.

    Nice simple frame. Exactly what I was looking for.. I noticed on the sides at the top. There appears to be cross pieces? What is the point of adding these? And couldn't the roof get nailed straight to the rafters?.

      I like using the 1×4s across the top to screw the metal down. It gives you less room for error. And better secures it because you can use more screws.

      You will see the metal roofs nailed to these cross pieces all the time. I just built a wood shed and realized that if you nail along the rafter, you have no support in the middle - and wind can come and lift it up as well. You definitely need them on a much larger roof - so you can walk on them while installing or maintaining it. Those cross pieces are called purlins.

      Awwwha ok so I guess I better go get some wood for "purlins"! Thanks for the additional information! This is gonna be just what I need. And ya never know just maybe the start of my building my own "working she shed!" 😂 ( Which will also cut down on my yard work too! Yeah BONUS HAHAAA) in FLA the summers get brutally hot to do such a task) now thinking I may need to keep the portable AC my uncle had and insulation may be the next in line in this pole barn build Im attempting 😂😂😂 well hell why not live it up large heheee

    I'm doing something as such myself and I appreciate you sharing this. This gives me the confidence I needed; I too am cheap! One reason is because I don't have the financial means and two is because I don't trust the "pro's" to do for me. Hell I can do as many of them do my own damn self which saves me the money! I don't know the technical terms of headers and such just need to know where to screw my boards to give the strength to keep on standing thru the weather. I know what the posts are and that's it! Hahaaa went and got pressure treated ground contact posts and 2x4's I have inherited some tin roof panels and many long self driving decking screws I cheated a tad for I also bought some metal joist hangers which will help in hanging the 2x4s myself (rafters? What I will screw down my tin roof panels on lol) I believe will help in strength too. Idk. FYI I'm a 58 yr old 100lb woman ... Wish me the luck and wisdom to get this done where it serves my purpose and doesn't look as janky as the tarps i had to immediately put in use due to rain. ( My uncle had died and I had to get his belongings out of his rental home and I have no where to store them so that I can sort through it all for replacement, keep, sell, donate and or trash) this wasn't planned for whatsoever and came on suddenly too... So please send me the good vibes that I am truly in need of! I in advance give my appreciation and thanks for all those that do! Now here I go adding to my life's given experience let it be a positive one 🙏 ohmmmmm ohmmmmm breathe in and out ... I got this! 😅 Thanks again for sharing your wise ways my friend! ✌🏼

      Thanks! You got this. If you have any questions while you're building just ask. I'm no pro but I know enough to figure it out.

    Not bad at all for $300. Good job 👍 in my opinion you can’t have enough space. I would leave that one be and use it as a tool shed and build a bigger one for your mower etc.

      Thanks for watching! That's what I'm gonna have to do lol. It's too full with my mower in there.

      Thank you! I may try to make a short video of the goat pen I just built. I've been having a hard time remembering to video my projects lol.

    That shed is awesome. Just build a bigger one and start a collection. Can’t have too much storage.

    I would add on to it if it was me sir. It's whole lot easier to add on to existing structure and I might consider adding on to the back of it to get rid of your flooding problems? You know what I mean add on to it kind of divert the water maybe over that Hill if possible

    Dude, watching this from New Zealand, this is pretty much what I need. Love it. What kind of hinges did you use on the door? Keep up the good work

    • @MATTHEWADAMS13
      @MATTHEWADAMS13  2 года назад +1

      Thanks man! This is probably the simplest way you can build one. I'll try to get them in my next video so you can get an idea. I made sure I used big hinges and used 3 of them because that's a pretty big door.
