He is, but his mom and nana are also very cool. What a weird thing for me to say except that I met them at a show in Corpus ! Dudes NANA at a show! That’s as metal as metal gets!!!
Kyle seems like a cool dude, and I love his philosophies about rock. Doesn't matter what you have, just turn the knobs until it sounds the best that it can.
Man, I miss this kind of talk when I was in garage bands back in the mid 90s in high * school that’s all we cared about was our gear in our rigs then when we didn’t get famous and started having families and jobs it all went away but so much fun to listen to.
+Corey Corey i like how he has the microphone in his hand, swinging it to and fro, but the audio is from the lav mics they're wearing. and guitar tech dave didn't get one. 'what kind of guitar is that? a les paul? natural finish?cool. strings, ten set? elevens? yeah man? cool. you like em? yeah they are pretty great. orange amps? this is a new one-' YUP.
Stephen Shelnutt they could be. but they were clearly the ones used primarily for audio at least in post. it's just fun to watch that handheld mic flail around doing nothing at all.
It's kinda refreshing to see a more simple rig, especially as far as a pedal board goes. As a person who is newer to getting a good rig setup, seeing a rig like Mike Sullivan from Russian Circles or something like that can be super overwhelming.
What is this... bass... Oh is that the guy who stands by me on stage with the weird looking guitar? I didn't know that guy was even part of the band!... Do they even plug into anything?
Kyle's rig looks awesome. The novelty of the Big Crunch is cool, but I'm curious how it sounds. Also got stoked for the Electra guitars. The old ones were super cool, I'm excited that they're up and running again.
Actually panning over the cab setup when they are talking about the amps would have been nice, I mean they were talking about the 4 12 / 2 12 setup, etc so I am guessing he was saying they have those in combination vs a full stack but you couldn't see more than the very top of one cab.
I got that vibe too. Wans't really interested in hearing what the first guy, J.D.?, had to say, seemed like he was trippin' a bit on something, and then warmed up to the second huy, even though he raced through everything... But what do you expect from a guy who describes the signal chain as coming OUT of the amp...
If you had a 1980 Marshall JMP 2204 with a V30 4x12. Would you run a Bogner Red or Metal Muff (Like the older rig rundown vid)? or what other pedal? I've tried boosting and it sounds great just not saturated enough for Age or Winters tone.
+7hotfuzz7 honestly, I would do something like an MXR Distortion+ or a DOD 250 into that amp setup(sweet rig, by the way)- there's is really not THAT gainy of a sound. When you get the Distortion+ up abit it starts to get this woollyness to it; not outright fuzz, like if you were gonna play Acid King type stuff(another GREAT band), but it's just that slightly-loose cranked 70s sound that kicks ass. Hope this helps.
l've just discovered this band! They are great! I cant believe what i've been missing! l just love how the singer is so reticent and the blond guy more exuberant lol. What albums do you recommend?
Joaquin Odriozola I love all their albums but I gotta say Warp Riders is my personal fave. I'd recommend Lawless lands and Tres Brujas from that album, they got a good groove to 'em if you're into that.
"Can I finish your sentence for ya?" Jesus man... Let the man SPEAK.. don't want to sound like a jerk but the interview is being compromised by tedious interruptions. Im glad for this but it could be better. I love this band and it's a good look at the Sword rig!
Interviewer. slow down. let the subject talk. don't feel like you need to fill up the air, or acknowledge EVERYTHING. Ask questions that will open the conversation. Also, Focus Puller (er: single camera person) Pull focus man!!! Otherwise great rundown. thanks for all the hard work.
I had to take the Super Distortion out of my 2008 Explorer because it was too warm and mid rangy in the bridge. I replaced it with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and love it!
I'M HYPERACTIVE! I'M GOING TO BUTT IN, NOT LISTEN,LOOK LEFT/RIGHT/LEFT'/RIGHT AND GET IN THE WAY. Awful hosting. The artists were laid back and there was no adapting to them at all.
I had that blue hush pedal it blows, bought it because I that it was noise gate and heard Dime used one ain't good at all the rackmount Hush super c is way better. The Black LP copy Neck heal curve looks like Chapman guitars ML 2.
Weed vs. Cocaine
Kyle Shutt seems like such a cool dude 🤘🏼
He is, but his mom and nana are also very cool.
What a weird thing for me to say except that I met them at a show in Corpus !
Dudes NANA at a show!
That’s as metal as metal gets!!!
He is!! I work with him in Austin. 😊
I met him on this tour. He was hella cool.
Would it kill these guys to plug in and give us just one, loud power chord?
Kyle seems like a cool dude, and I love his philosophies about rock. Doesn't matter what you have, just turn the knobs until it sounds the best that it can.
Im a total gear nerd and love pedals and amps but I totally appreciate the simplicity of their sound. Dialed in perfectly.
"you like those?" no they just use them because they lost a bet
The sword is my favorite band.
I love how he bought his Les Paul on eBay. Awesome.
probably a fake//
I love how they're starting to do more bands that I actually like
Pretty cool to see his tech repping an Asbestosdeath shirt
Man, I miss this kind of talk when I was in garage bands back in the mid 90s in high * school that’s all we cared about was our gear in our rigs then when we didn’t get famous and started having families and jobs it all went away but so much fun to listen to.
No Bryan? He makes some of their pedals for Christ sakes. Need one of these run downs for Jimmy, too...
Cocaine is a heck of a drug
I must say that the amps are very impressive and I love the story behind the one knob
Just saw them a week and a half ago, was one of the best live shows I've seen in years!
Clearly pre-Kyle's new signature from Reverend.
jesus this interviewer loves the sound of his own voice. interrupts the guys like all the time
+zkkrhfhska he may have 'done a bump' before filming. yeesh.
this interviewing is on some strong shit.
+intrepgun the tiny mics could be back ups but yea
Stephen Shelnutt they could be. but they were clearly the ones used primarily for audio at least in post. it's just fun to watch that handheld mic flail around doing nothing at all.
It's kinda refreshing to see a more simple rig, especially as far as a pedal board goes. As a person who is newer to getting a good rig setup, seeing a rig like Mike Sullivan from Russian Circles or something like that can be super overwhelming.
why would you be overwhelmed by someone elses rig
Bro when that guy walked out with the asbestos death shirt. I cried
They never got to the bass player :(
the who-in-the-what now? Bass? Are they fishing? lamo.
What is this... bass... Oh is that the guy who stands by me on stage with the weird looking guitar? I didn't know that guy was even part of the band!... Do they even plug into anything?
poor bryan
Cause no one cares...
Kids, listen up, this is how you do it, a great amp, a great guitar, great guys, plug it in and rock!
Love the 3/4 stacks. I rocked a Marshall 60 watt 2x12 tube combo on top of a Marshall 4x12 for years
I am here because of kickstarter, congrats on your book Kyle. Hope you will buy back the amp you just sold to make it happen tough! 🙏🏻
Has a boutique amp and uses a fuckin Boss distortion pedal lol
Chris Griffin grew up, got some tats and started playing guitar for the sword.
Kyle looks like a younger version of Jeff Healey.
Fantastic Band !
I used to have an electra nice solid guitars, glad to see they're back in the game.
Why are so many people complaining about the interviewer? I thought he did a great job and kept it interesting.
he just seems.......'elevated' by something. or at least just OVERLY anxious
+screwdriva i'd complain more about the cameraman. nothing is ever in focus it's plain annoying.
That first Les Paul moment when you sink into the single cut away. Yeah.
Kyle's rig looks awesome. The novelty of the Big Crunch is cool, but I'm curious how it sounds. Also got stoked for the Electra guitars. The old ones were super cool, I'm excited that they're up and running again.
Awesome Tragedy shirt. Asbestos Death shirt too? my kind of taste
This rundown smacks of either nerves, or Meth. Maybe some combination of the two.
Cool rigs though. The E2's always been my favourite Explorer.
The tortoise shell inlays n bounding is super cool id dig those on something like a jazzmaster dope af
Amazing band. I've seen them live at Razzmatazz Barcelona. Great f'n gig!
Interview the sword again. Been a few years they have changed a bit
nice asbestosdeath t shirt
awesome. Love the host, Perry Bean.
An amp that has one knob!?!?! Nigel Tufnel is hiding behind his Marshall that goes to eleven.
Waiting for a “his hero is gone” shirt
Actually panning over the cab setup when they are talking about the amps would have been nice, I mean they were talking about the 4 12 / 2 12 setup, etc so I am guessing he was saying they have those in combination vs a full stack but you couldn't see more than the very top of one cab.
WTF?! Kyle's voice is WAAAAAY deeper than I'd expected. lol
real nice one, good oldschool PG feel
Why does this look like it was filmed with the same camera as saved by the bell?
I really dig the quicker video. Maybe make a long and short version?
Awesome Asbestosdeath shirt at 10:52 high on fire/sleep/om before all their glory 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Dam it, Just do the Bass player too.!!!!
bassplayersayer why though? No one cares.
the guy doing the interview was rude af
I got that vibe too. Wans't really interested in hearing what the first guy, J.D.?, had to say, seemed like he was trippin' a bit on something, and then warmed up to the second huy, even though he raced through everything...
But what do you expect from a guy who describes the signal chain as coming OUT of the amp...
lol he just interrupted them and didn't let them talk!
miamikid08sdad
- he did interrupt a bit.
Keep your shots in focus jesus christ. If they're talking about the guitar, pull the focus to the guitar.
YES!
Mixing Duncan's and DiMarzios. I also like to live dangerously.
Perry the Interviewer makes me twitchy
That Omega Prime looks sweet!
v8dreaming I just got the black omega and it is a great guitar super affordable and the quality matches up easly with my gibson custom
I was at this show!
JD looks like the bass player from Deathkolk...best hair ever!
"Alright we got uh, it's uh...let's start with the guitars." Nice job knowing your gear dude haha
DS 1, the guys a legend 👏🏼
Kyle looks like Andy Wood
He does. Mother love bone baby
The blond guitar player looks like the kid from the Rob Zombie Halloween remakes.
Otherwise cool band, cool gear
Perry where'd you get that Tragedy shirt?
Yessssss best band NA
Mateus asato works with the sword?
Shocked that these guys use the Rocktron Hush
Holy shit, I have that same Saviours shirt!
kyle is my favorite ever. please just play one power chord man!
Is this interviewer coked out? Might as well have hired the micro machines guy,
If you had a 1980 Marshall JMP 2204 with a V30 4x12. Would you run a Bogner Red or Metal Muff (Like the older rig rundown vid)? or what other pedal? I've tried boosting and it sounds great just not saturated enough for Age or Winters tone.

perry wearing a tragedy tee?? dope
Dude, where's Bryan's rig? :-(
wow this guy did a really good job!!!!!!! Best i have seen since rebecca dirks....
But do those amps go to 11?
Why the hate for the interviewer, did a decent job.
l've just discovered this band! They are great! I cant believe what i've been missing! l just love how the singer is so reticent and the blond guy more exuberant lol.
What albums do you recommend?
Joaquin Odriozola Age of Winters is what got me into them
***** cool man, l'd love to see them touring South America!
Joaquin Odriozola I love all their albums but I gotta say Warp Riders is my personal fave. I'd recommend Lawless lands and Tres Brujas from that album, they got a good groove to 'em if you're into that.
Age of Winters, Ultimate Dragons Demos, Sea of Spears, Codex Cordivae, Hammer of the Heavens, Gods of this Earth, Warp Riders.
9:12 50 or 15w?
"Can I finish your sentence for ya?" Jesus man... Let the man SPEAK.. don't want to sound like a jerk but the interview is being compromised by tedious interruptions. Im glad for this but it could be better. I love this band and it's a good look at the Sword rig!
that amp tho
is that mic doing any thing?
Hold up. Was his strap backwards at the start or have I been doing it wrong all these years?
He has it on the right way.
High Country is sick! amazing album
+ggaccentc Ha!
Camera work was strictly amateur night at the farm. FOCUS!
ELECTRA OMEGA right on
What beer is Kyle drinking? lol
nice asbestosdeath shirt
So basically he's running a tube power amp..........
Nice Tragedy shirt
Kyle looks just like Jeff Healey.

Is anyone going to be able to tell me what the song they started this video with is?
night city from the album warp riders \m/\m/
Gary Cole Thanks man, right back at ya. \m/
these are super simple boards. i literally own every pedal on Kyles board already
+Reece Bartron Even the ones Bryan made? lol
E Stark I guess not "literally every" but a lot of them
I had to take the Super Distortion out of my 2008 Explorer because it was too warm and mid rangy in the bridge. I replaced it with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and love it!
Interviewer is tweaking 😂
Love the orange. In the kindest of ways, find a cameraman who can focus and knows depth of field, PLEASE!
I'M HYPERACTIVE! I'M GOING TO BUTT IN, NOT LISTEN,LOOK LEFT/RIGHT/LEFT'/RIGHT AND GET IN THE WAY.
Awful hosting. The artists were laid back and there was no adapting to them at all.
I SAW A VERELLEN!!!!
I mean I love the Sword and everything but can someone explain me why does the singer look like he's stuck in the 70's?
Because their music matches lol.
The Sword are great
I had that blue hush pedal it blows, bought it because I that it was noise gate and heard Dime used one ain't good at all the rackmount Hush super c is way better.
The Black LP copy Neck heal curve looks like Chapman guitars ML 2.
