If you’re becoming a CS major, it’s best to get a laptop that runs on windows because unfortunately a lot of the software and programs used in college won’t run on Macbooks. :( Highly recommend that you look at some laptop requirements for engineering students at prospective unis you will apply to for a good idea of what to buy. Just make sure to buy the Lenovo Yoga that matches the specs from the list! Goodluck on college apps!! ❤

This might not apply for every college, but I graduated CS with a macbook without a problem. There was only one or two programs that couldn’t run natively on macOS and for those you can just install a Linux vm.

I’m a mechanical engineer major and the laptop I use is a Hp ENVY. I do use some engineering software, but my school has remote access so I can access a school computer on my own laptop. So it just depends on which college/ university you go to. I also have the surface go which I use to take digital notes. So the iPad for digital notes/ do homework. It’s easier, even when the professor gives you the PowerPoint slides.
Native isn’t really good at all, if I used it at all I only used it in the winter. I recommend a normal stick of dove deodorant and then dove spray deodorant over it. That combo is gonna last LONG girlie

GIRLL I WAS SHOCKED WHEN YOU SAID YOUR SCHOOL LAPTOP IS SUPER SLOW CUZ... My school chromebook is literally SO FAST, the battery lasts SO LONG and it charges EXTREMELY FAST. Literally a dream, and I thank my school board sm for it.
HERE'S WHAT I LOVE ABOUT IT:
- *Touchscreen!*
- Has a *pen/stylus* that's super handy if you don't want to use your finger but also for drawing and moving things around and basically everything(I LOST IT THO)
- The connected part is super *bendy and flexible*, so you can put it whatever way you want.
- Literally like an *ipad and computer in one.* If you flip the keyboard over, it goes into ipad/tablet mode, and the screen automatically flips whichever way you want, just like a tablet, and suddenly the tabs become like the things on your phone that you can swipe up to get ride of(ITS SO COOL)
- *2 cameras/lenses*! So when you flip it like a tablet or just want a shot of the ceiling from chromebook mode, its super handy!!
- *Charges SO FAST, yet the battery seems to last over a week*??? I'm on my chromebook rn and I haven't charged it in a week...(been using it every night to binge videos, and I'm STILL GOING STRONG ON 23% and have over 4 hours of battery left)
oh also you can decide color themes with like a palette and its so cool... idk if this is on like every device but i love it...

*I have no idea if this is good for computer science students, but it does have a lot of features and updates. It's good for school, but maybe you prefer laptops if it's professional?? IDK but I hope this helped!!*

So in Germany we don’t use Laptops in High school but in College and University and my brother who is in university got from his school a MacBook and he absolutely loves it. Maybe you should get one ? Hope that helps ❤
i would reccomend the hp laptop 15s, i have it for school, writing, and occasionally gaming, and i got the one with the intel7 processor (from what i know it's a strong one). it's a great computer, not thick and fast, i also got it for 700 euros, which i would say its not expensive (considering it wasnt on sale)

GET AN HP ENVY GIRL. There's this one thats around $600 that really good. It's especially if u wanna do anything cs related bc for cs, u need something that runs on windows mkst of the time and hp laptops run on windowz

i have a macbook pro and it rarely overheats, even when i rarely shut it down! i definitely recommend even tho it's a bit pricey and the touch bar is basically useless 😭a regular macbook literally works the same- but it's very lightweight and easy to carry as well in a fabric case.

i think u should get a macbook pro laptop or the hp intel laptop..... the one i am using currently right now is the hp intel laptop in the color rose gold it works faster and very well and it can fit inside the backpack very well
For the pink notebook, I think you would only need it for AP Lit. I took AP Research last school year and I never needed a notebook for it as everything was online. But it might be different for your school?

It’s called Pilot Dr. Grip 4+1 I think my mom got is from staples but I also found it on Amazon! If you look it up too you may be able to find it at stores near you
