Being a first-gen Mexican immigrant, I never thought in my WILDEST dreams I'd ever get the opportunity to go to college. I used to cry late at night, repeating the conversation my parents had with me once regarding the unfathomable reality that they would not be able to afford to pay for my college education and that my academic endeavors would end after high school. It's a conversation I remember even still, 5 years later. I still hear their heartbroken voices and remember the tears that faithful night. I could have stopped trying in middle school and in high school, and yet, I kept going. My parents often times apologized for not being able to give me the "American dream" they envisioned, but I still pushed on, hoping to not only turn their unaccomplished dreams into reality but mine too. To live the American dream they couldn't afford. I was doing this for them. And now? I just graduated from high school with top honors and will be the FIRST ever in my entire family to go to college at a top university, and on an extremely generous scholarship with that. Being able to live out my dream to further my education and make my parents proud, THAT is what I am excited about for this year.

As a senior in high school, it feels like only yesterday I was a freshman. Been battling depression for a bit but watching your videos has reminded me of the importance of working hard, making the best of the present moment, and finding beauty in the mundane. Hello, Lihn! This is actually one of the first videos I've watched from you, but your style and positivity about your school/personal life is actually really calming. I've been struggling quite a bit this year with almost anything you can think of, but mostly I've been trying to make the most of it through reading my Bible and spending time with those I love. This video in particular helped me feel a lot better about college and such (graduated high school senior), especially about living on my own, so thank you a great deal for that!
If it wasn't already at least a little apparent, I'm most excited to start living my own life and getting to know myself a little better this upcoming year! I'm taking a gap year because phew, my brain needs it, but I'm looking to travel, save up some money, and pursue the things I love a little bit more! I really, really wanna teach music to those who don't necessarily get that opportunity where they live. That would be the dream.

hi linh!! i've been watching you since your online school vlogs during the pandemic when you were a college freshman and i was a high school junior. now i'm going into my sophomore year of college and you're still a big source of inspiration and positivity for me! honestly, my freshman year (especially the first semester) was extremely rough mentally. i had a roommate who would invite their boyfriend over for multiple weekends in a row and also did substances, which made me feel quite unsafe and like i never had any privacy.
however, i managed to find comfort in my campus' k-pop club, which i became part of the eboard for! it's honestly the main reason i'm not dreading going back to school for sophomore year. i usually groan when people say to branch out and find the people you vibe with, but honestly there's some truth to it. when i struggled with not wanting to go to class and not do my work, i remembered that i had a k-pop club meeting at the end of the week which motivated me to keep pushing through until then.

Hi Linh! First of all, congrats on entering your senior year of college!! I discovered your channel during your pandemic and you were only just getting into your first few years of college so this feels like a full circle moment for me.
I am currently about to head into my first semester as a college freshman and I find myself eagerly anticipating the start of this new chapter in my life. While the unfamiliarity of college life fills apart of me with anxiety and fear of failure, I find solace in the experience and journey you've shared as my guide into this unknown chapter. Your videos have given me comfort for these past 3 years and I know that they will continue to bring me comfort and guidance.
One of the aspects that excites me about starting my first semester in college is the opportunity to delve into subjects that will push my drive and passion for my academic pursuits. I plan to be on the pre-med track and while I know this journey will present itself with its fair share of challanges, I feel hopeful that I will be able to face them head-on. I'm really excited to meet people from a multitude of diverse backgrounds and broaden my horizens by dipping my feet in new activities and experiences. First of all, I TOO am getting emotional with you on this video!! I came across your channel back in quarantine when motivation to do school remotely was running low, and your account is one of the few that have helped me immensely find the joy in everyday, mundane things during the pandemic. It's not always sunshine and rainbows but your outlook in life has really changed my perspective on some things for the better. I am so so proud of how much you've grown and I am so honored to be a part of the ride.
Seeing as we are more than halfway through the year, I can't say there's really anything specific that I am looking forward to. Sophomore year in college for me is right around the corner so my days are going to be filled with endless studying once again. That being said, I am a person who loves going into the day head-on, and even after countless setbacks, I feel like I still have that child-like innocence and wonder, which helps me find things to be grateful for even when I go through the same motions every day. So I guess, I'm not looking forward to anything special this year, just simply that I find joy and contentment in the journey I'm in, while making meaningful friendships and foundations.

for me, since this is my freshman year of college, i'm super excited to make new friends and have a ton of new experiences! i just moved out, so it can definitely be tough and lonely sometimes, but knowing that i'll undoubtedly meet amazing people and diversify my experiences has kept me going. and i'm excited to learn! when i was in secondary school, i didn't have the option to study any social sciences, but now that i'm in college, i'm finally able to have them in my curriculum! i want to go into psychology and i've always been interested in it, so i'm delighted about this. i'm also going to volunteer at a ngo that helps children in need! i'll be working as a teacher for orang asli kids, which is a minority in my country that is severely affected by poverty. i'm truly just happy that i can influence their lives for the better, even if it's just a little bit. so yeah! 2023 is a big year for me, but i'm thrilled that i get to do life like this

Hey Linh! I'm currently working a real adult job, traveling every day to my 8-5 job as a designer, and let me tell ya it has been a journey! I used to work in home office mode for the past 2 years while attending uni, trying to update my office space and my personal life. Last year was a rollercoaster of emotions, sef-validation, and A LOT of imposter syndrome. Watching your videos, it came with a lot of thoughts about dropping uni, leaving my household, and starting a youtube channel, but a lot of things happened and I just kept going you know, a year pasts so fast when you have a lot of things to do. Now I look back to those days and watching you going back to college, makes me feel like everything it's happening for a reason and every decision that we made in the past made us the person that we are today and that's really amazing to think.
I remember watching your videos in my fresh years of uni when you were starting your own business of stationary, leaving your parent's house, and moving to a big city, making me feel so inspired by what the future holds. I've first come across Linh when I was in the "small business artist" phase and she was still in high school. She is higher up in the grade than I am so I watched her videos as a "aesthetic inspiration". I can't believe she is in senior year of college!!! last year, me and my friends started our own literature magazine club for our school, one of the proudest and nerdiest things ive done. Its been on hold for the summer but im looking forward to finally renewing it for the next school year. On a more academic note, I'm actually excited to work, which is not something I can always say. I'm excited to take notes, manage my time, study, read, etc. I've been getting into self improvement lately so I suppose this drive to study came from that part of my brain. And lastly, I've been genuinely happy lately, I'm proud of the point I am in my life and my mindset after suffering with my mental health for so long. omg linh i’m going into a my junior year and i remember watching you just starting up a while back and it lowkey feels surreal to see you in your senior year of college now. i’ve lowkey been stressing about college for no reason (kind of) and thinking about the future has me both nervous and excited for what’s to come and i’m so happy to see myself in others and changing and influencing the world like you. i’ve particularly happy to see you mentioning and including other artists and designers in your video and i myself have plans with my major in graphic design and pursue something in the game industry and maybe have a side hustle on the side selling stickers and other cute things that other people would appreciate. i feel like recently life is giving me a tough time and i’ve just kind of been going through and trying to improve and focus on what really matters to me in the future and how to grow myself as a person and appreciate what i do as a person for the world. i’ve considered taking up a dual major in psychology to connect my works of art with the way the human mind works and how little paths and decisions in our life make who we are today and express it mainly through emotion. design and psychology are two different majors but i really believe that i can connect those two things and make it work with what i want to do. you’ve really inspired me to believe in myself to do so as i think your status and progress are reflected upon your youtube channel where you’ve decided to cultivate such a passion into where it is today. if i think it’s safe to say the same for everyone else who has watched your videos for probably longer than i have. thank you linh for everything you’ve done for the world! ur so cooll! OMG Linh! I'm so happy you are in your last year of college! I'm a normal person from Peru that has been watching your videos since 2020. You give me a lot of inspiration and motivation with your videos, been locked down wasn't easy but I felt really good and positive watching you going through the same situations as students so that made me connect with you.
I really admire you, sometimes I just wanted to be like you and have the lifestyle you had and your experiences with friends, what i didn't know back then is that I was kind of manifesting the life I have now as a university student and I'm very thankful because you made me think of it a unconsciously do it. I even got some items you have because you recommend them hahaha. Hey Linh! You’re senior year videos are like a big warm hug. They are so cozy and make me feel like I’m 13 again watching back to school videos. They have also been really encouraging (all your videos are! And it’s so fun to watch you get to experience and achieve so much) but I’m kind of in the same boat as you. I took a break from school, though my break was to take care of my son. I’m a young mom of 1 soon to be 2 this fall. It’s been really easy to be hard on myself and to let society dictate what it actually means to be a “young mom”. But I don’t want to fall into the very limited categories set for me! I’m genderqueer, my kids are my pride and joy but they don’t need to define my life, and I do want to and will go back to school!! I’ve tried before and backed out because I was nervous of failure, but I’m feeling reinvigorated and your video’s definitely helped.

My senior year is officially here and to say I'm not horrified would be a total understatement. For a while I thought I knew what I wanted, and who I wanted to be, but now that it is almost over, I realize how much more is left to decide. I've been in a long-term relationship with my boyfriend for coming up on four years and we have grown together, and I've realized just how different our paths are going to end up being. I've never been a follower or a sheep but when it comes to him, I can't imagine us growing apart or splitting away from each other. In case you're interested in our different ideas of a future, I want to go to 4-year college to be an elementary art teacher, and he wants to go into the marines. With that there is the choice of leaving each other behind for an unknown amount of time, and I haven't been alone in almost 4 years because of him. I've been struggling with a worsening anxiety disorder over my years in high school and his unconditional support and understanding is what has kept me going. I'm afraid of who I'd be without him, or with him so far away for so long. I have so many goals and things I want to do but hold myself back because of fear and unknowing of how my future is meant to play out.
I know some people might find the fear of losing him irrational and a bit silly, which I understand, it is. But I've been so lost recently on what to do, follow him, or do my own thing, both having pros and cons.
I know the prompt was to talk about things you're excited for though, so let me also talk about that; I'm excited to take college level classes and be reunited with my friends who I only ever see at school. I'm excited for senior prom, and the memories (good and bad) that I know this year will bring me.
Thank you for the content you make, they help calm my mind when I'm alone and make me feel a little less alone. If you're reading this, Linh, or just some random person on the internet, thank you.

I've been out of high school for a few years and I can tell you that it's okay to not know what you want to do! You're still so young with so much time to explore your interests and new opportunities! There's no rush to go to college either, you can always take a year to travel (workaway is a really cool student friendly travel option), or just decompress after like 14 consecutive years of mandatory schooling! I know people who have put their own goals aside for a partner and it's often one of their biggest regrets. Diverging paths with the people that are close to you is just normal in early adulthood, but that doesn't mean to have to lose them. Being able to fulfill yourself and explore your own path can truly strengthen relationships. It'll give you the opportunity to be the become the best version of yourself for you and your loved ones! It's okay to take a break, or change your mind, or feel lost for a while. Feeling lost can take you places you never envisioned for yourself :) Sorry for the unsolicited advice, but I wish I had someone to tell me that when I was entering senior year! Also, be very grateful that your senior year is post pandemic. Me and ALL of my peers were devastated to miss out on being a senior. Remember to slow down every once in a while and enjoy it, it can go by fast. Have fun

Hey Linh !! I started watching you I believe a year after I finished my senior year of high school and in the middle of my 1 or 2nd semester of college. So literally 3 years ago, my first video from you that I watched was your side hustle video as well as your animal crossing island tour. Your videos meant so much to me because not only did they relax me but made it clear how much you inspire me. And the goals I wish to achieve. My first semester of college, I was so hopeful for my life and I had so much anticipation that I thought I would achieve by now. But after my 2nd semester of college and COVID, I thought I made a complete mess of all my ambitions and completely spiraled. I feel like I waisted these last 3 years, And seeing everyone grow around me and graduating college has been super rough. Your journey however it just so uplifting, everything about you I adore and hope to become one day. You have a bright and wonderful spirit and I hope you know how much I look forward to your videos, you're my absolute favorite youtuber and you deserve all that is well and good in life. With that being said, I hope to capture my ambitions again, these past 3 years I dropped everything and stopped attending college. But I am finally continuing after begin scared and nervous about it for so long. I feel so far behind, but it something that I always wanted to do, I want to be better, and I am just excited to see things to look brighter, better, and to just simply be happy. I am a high school student raised by a single Chinese mother, therefore having unrealistic academic expectations. I've found that listening to music, watching Studio Ghibli movies and your youtube videos always help brighten me up or get out of a slump, so thank you for creating great content like this. My family is going through a hard time right now due to my mothers' ex-partner. I've had to move from houses into motels and retirement homes, all of which haven't helped with my grades or mental health. I currently go to a private school through a scholarship but due to our new financial situation, I have to enter a public school or go to a selective school. I have really good friends here that I'm immensely grateful for but I feel like they can't understand my situation because of our financial difference or different family dynamics (my having a single mum). I feel like I have to give up my mental health for my family, it feels like there's so much pressure for me to be “smart enough" to go into a selective school and help make money for my family. I'm sorry I started ranting, I really am appreciative of my life, I'm just struggling to balance everything right now, but it's been really relieving to talk about it. If anyone is going through a hard time, I am truly sorry, my advice is to find things you enjoy, for instance, music, to help make you're day brighter. Hey linh, to be very honest I don’t know what the new semester has in store for me and whether it’s as exciting as I hope it will be .
My last semester has honestly made me rethink every aspect of my life, including how I see myself and what I want for myself. Your videos have been a constant reminder of how there’s always happiness coming around the corner. And that it’s okay to not fit in the norm. I’ve always had a thing for stationery one of the things I’ve had that felt more tangible than some of the most hurtful friendships I’ve been through this year. I want to thank you for always giving me hope and making me feel proud of who I am and to always stick to what makes me unique even when people think that my sense of style is often questionable.I think I’ve come to a part of my life where I have realised in order for us to be happy, we need to live our lives to the happiest we could ever imagine it to be, nothing is impossible for us as we are the writers of our own destiny and don’t need anyone to tell us otherwise. I’m an incoming sophomore based in the Philippines, and my college journey has been a rollercoaster, to say the least. I’m supposed to be in my senior year as well, however I had to take a leave from uni twice because of a decline in my mental health. Before this month I couldn’t help but feel lost and unsure of my place in the world, and honestly I’m still figuring everything out. For 2 years I’ve felt uneasy about going to school because of that, but now I can say that I’m ready to return to life on campus.
Honestly, I’m looking forward to pretty much everything that a new school year can offer, but what I’m looking forward to the most is the fresh start that it can bring. This incoming school year will hopefully give me the opportunity to find myself again, and will motivate me to keep looking ahead instead of looking back and lingering on thoughts of “what could’ve been.” Forging new connections/relationships seems exciting, and finally getting out everyday after months of just staying at home sounds exhilarating.
I hope that this incoming school year will provide me with answers, and will give me the peace that I have continuously been longing for. I hope that the same goes for everyone who stumbled upon this video.

First and foremost, congrats on entering your final year of college! I started watching you when you were setting up your apartment for your first year and it’s lovely to see that you’ve come such a long way! :)
I’m excited to say that this year will be my last year of high school. On one hand I’m mortified and yet on the other hand I’m somewhat eager and motivated. It’s a bit daunting to know that this will be my final year in an environment I’ve grown so accustomed to and I think that university life will just be a very different experience. But I know that change will be an exciting and new thing so I’m trying to turn a blind eye to all the depressing thoughts! Besides who doesn’t like exciting and new things?
Nonetheless one of the aspects of school that I’ve always been really enthusiastic about is the core of academia. Learning. I know that all my exams this year will be all the more important and that a lot of the scientific papers I write will be a deciding factor in what I can study in university (hopefully medicine if all goes well!!) And yet I can’t wait to begin.
I think it’s thanks to my teachers, parents and friends that I have gained a passion for most of my subjects. I thrive in academia and I believe that even though this will be my final year spent in my “safe haven”, I’ll hope to make it a year I can look back on fondly.
To end things off, I want to thank you for your videos. Your content has helped many people (including me) in so many different ways! Ever since I’ve started taking school seriously and focusing on my goals, I’ve always watched your videos as a study break. That aside they also act as a little push of motivation for me to continue working towards what I want to do to later in life!

This September I’m going into my final year of secondary school, and it feels like yesterday that I watched your book haul those four years ago. You have been such an inspiration to me over these past four years, truly showing me that life is bigger than school. Watching you go from that book haul in your bedroom to leaving home and living in your own apartment, with massive windows and walls you painted yourself, having you own jewellery line, volunteering at the white house, and now living in your own Washington loft apartment has made me have real hope for my future. Not to get too parasocial, but it feels like I’ve grown up and changed alongside you. Hearing you talk about the lgbtqia+ community in your videos and come to terms with your own queerness and be open about it strengthened you as a role model in my mind. Over these past 4 years I’ve discovered a lot about my own queerness and identity, when I first watched you I had no idea I’d be writing this as a trans guy. Your videos have always been comforting to me, and your positivity is infectiously uplifting. You’re a role model to me and I’m sure so many others who watch your videos or have been subscribed to you as long or longer than I have. Hey linh, I'm just as stoked as everyone that you are a senior in Uni now and that the biggest chapter of your life is ready to unfold. I'm a currently a sophomore in college and uff let me tell you, you have inspired me to keep going with my career despite the gloomy days. I am currently studying to be a vet tech and transferring to vet school after I take VTNE. I am excited to work at the colorado Denver zoo for my next semester as it is a big step out of my comfort zone to work with exotic animals. I am currently working in Gunnison with small and large animals and it has been fun monitoring surgeries, doing lab work, helping with physical exams, and going out on farm calls. The hardest part about this career is going home and thinking about the sweet angels who had to go to heaven. It's hard fighting through the tears everyday and honestly all I can say is appreciate those whom you have even if it's just yourself. My apologies if my comment got a little sad, but life can be beautiful in its own little ways and I wish everyone health and strength. Linh, I can't wait to see you graduate and start your new chapter. Maybe you've heard this a lot or maybe not enough, but I'm very proud of you and I mean it with pure joy in my heart as you have encouraged many to get up in the morning like me. As someone who didn't always do so well in school, you have really motivated me to do my best in this upcoming semester. As an indian girl from an immigrant household, sometimes I can't help but seek that academic validation from my parents and other people as well, but your channel has reminded me that i should also pursue the things that I enjoy, alongside working hard for my goals.
Recently I switched my major from computer science to animal biology! Honestly its been a really tough decision, especially because I was afraid of letting my family down, but after realizing my passion for animals, I now aspire to be a marine biologist! Honestly, I'm really nervous about this upcoming semester. But your videos always give me the courage to start again. I know its going to be hard but, you always help me stay motivated. As some one who is struggling with depression and ADHD, its been really hard to focus on school and and care about myself and what i enjoy, but your videos always help me get back on track, especially with your focus on mental health. You have inspired me to get back in touch with my roots as well. Since I was born in America, I kinda struggled balancing the two cultures and languages, but recently I have decided to relearn my mother tounge in a more formal way and really get in touch with my roots. (Marathi, its a language from the region of Maharashtra in India!). Seeing that Asian representation was something that was always really comforting and amazing to see! I really hope our community grows even further so this kinda representation can reach others aswell!

Hey Linh! I'm very excited to start my first year of college in the fall. Your videos have helped me fall in love with learning again. Your appreciation for education helped me realize that school does not just have to be hours of soul-killing assignments and projects (even though there's a lot of that hehe). I'm attending community college, which was a difficult thing for me to accept initially. Surrounded by so many hardworking and intelligent people during high school, I felt ashamed that I wasn't "good enough" to be accepted to the schools they were attending. I hated the judgement and pity I received from others when I told them about my post high school plans. I kept wondering what I could have done differently to get into my dream schools. But now I realize that what you learn is way more important than just where you learn (+ cheap tuition is great too omg). I realized how incredibly privileged I am to get any sort of education. I'm truly so excited for what the future holds and what opportunities life has waiting for me. I can't wait to learn but also to have more time to pursue my creative hobbies!! I am a French student in an international high school in France, I will be entering junior year(but I am one year younger than my fellow students). This, in France, is the year where all the huge exams start. With my family slightly breaking apart and the changes my sister and I are facing, I must say school hasn’t been the easiest thing to deal with. I work hard and am very invested in what I study(I am doing an artistic course, besides all the basics (math, history etc.)), leading to successful results, but it is a tough road…
As you know, these are some rocky times going on, life has been pretty grey lately. So I thought I would tell you about what has gotten me though my tough family situation, the feeling of being alone.
First of all, you. Your channel reminding me I’m not the only one like me who is sparked by so many interests, a minimalist maximalist, a creative bulb… you give me courage to continue on as who I am every day.
Two, music… BTS. They saved my life. I think you can understand that feeling that they were there in my life when no one else was, or at least where no one else was. Three, dance. It’s my tenth year now dancing… ballet, jazz, kpop, contemporary, etc. Dancing is something I couldn’t live without… I wouldn’t know how to explain the joy and relief that i feel when I dance. It’s like a sigh, a breath of fresh air. A way to explain the human feelings in a way no words ever would. That’s my passion. My heartbeat itself is a dance. Weather it is for a party or some fun time with friends, or to express the most profound feelings of the human nature, dance is there.
Anyways that’s some of the things that carry me through life and that I am so grateful and passionate about. I also enjoy manga, fantasy books, kdrama, art and all sorts of other ways of creatively expressing yourself.

i go to a school where its far away from where i live and that basically makes me SO excited - meeting new people, making new friends, new environment, and the weather there is *chef's kiss! i literally dreamed this when i was in high school so it makes me really happy PLUS! i get to live with my bestfriend!! i know college is a really TOUGH era in our lives but something abt it rlly makes me want to continue and live the life i deserve while chasing my dreams 🫶🏻

Hello, Linh!😊Your videos have been such an inspiration for me during my senior year of high school. They've given me a glimpse of what college and adulthood could be like. As an immigrant student, college and having a job once felt like far away dreams, but your positivity helped me through the two years of waiting for my residency. Now, with my green card recently approved, I'm excited to share that I'll be starting college in the fall!
Though I can't deny feeling a bit overwhelmed by the new responsibilities of being an adult, I'm determined to find a balance that allows me to continue my passion for creating art and attending craft fairs. During breaks at work your videos remind me of the importance of following our passions and sharing them with others even when work and academics take most of our time and energy throughout the day.

Being part of your community was the best part of my life, not gonna lie. I have this habit that every time I feel down or unmotivated I always come here in your channel to watch your videos that really made me so productive. I am now at my 3rd year in College and studying to become a Teacher. Not only that, I love your school vlogs and study tips, they were my motivation to study hard. I always have doubts on the path that I have taken in life, but you taught me that life is not a race, everyone battles their own problems, and we all need to slow down a little. They say 3rd year in a college will be the stressful year in any part of college and I think it will. There will be so many things to do. And much knowledge to gain so that we can be trained as a full pledge teacher. I cannot wait to teach kids at schools. I always ask myself what is my purpose in life and what career should I take, some people say that being a teacher is just a plain career, and you will never be rich but here is the most important lesson I have learned throughout the past years.
And is that teaching is not just a job nor a profession, it is more than that. As they say, teaching is a complex craft. The profession of teaching is frequently referred to as a job, career, or even a profession, but it is much more than that. It is a way of life or even a way of being. I often hear the phrases, “So you're just a teacher?”, “You're only a teacher?” it is quite sad to see people that they perceive teachers as “Just Only” without knowing how significant teachers are in society which is why I am grateful that in this course I realize that teachers are not just teachers, and we should be proud on our profession, It is indeed that teaching is the noblest profession. Without teachers there would never be other profession like doctors, engineers, architects and many more. We should always remember that teachers are not “Just Only” they are more than that. The journey of the teacher is an example of a lifetime commitment to learning, not just about the subject, grade level, curriculum changes, school policy, and technological advancements, but also about a genuine passion for new information and abilities that can improve one's effectiveness as a professional and a person. So if I were to become a teacher, hopefully, I will not stop just imparting my knowledge to the students but continue to learn and grow. Because learning is a continuous process and teaching is a lifetime commitment.
