For anyone wondering a day later, have been doing world 68 public encounters and have a close to 100 % win rate in less than 03:40. Everyone is having a good time with this boss and rewards are decent. Haven't seen a book of bik drop yet..
Due to limited time, I wasn’t able to also upload/share my thoughts on the boss. I would rather have a guide out to help you guys struggling with the boss than to share my opinion, which is something I can always do later. I hope to make a video sharing my thoughts on the boss tomorrow. In short: The boss isn’t that exciting, but it seems to be a fun experience once you know what you’re doing and if you’ve got a team full of people (ON VOICECHAT), otherwise the boss fight is complete garbage. Avoid public instances at all costs. They should add some kind of mechanic to reduce the enrage because it’s way too punishing to do with randoms.
I don't know if it's my Iphone or mobile, but I tried this boss once and the app crashed. Will try the boss again later on my PC, so thanks for the guide, I would have been one of those clueless fools otherwise.
In the last phase, with the opened core, clicking on red particles will heal it (so don't do that), clicking on the yellow/green ones gives it more damage.
Some tips to help avoid Croesus' attack: Croesus has an attack animation for all it's attacks ( Croesus placing his arms on his abdomen/ ground) which gives you a much longer heads up to it's attack. You'll have to be playing RuneScape in high resolution with freedom camera zoomed out fully to be able to see it though. Croesus also follows a fixed attack pattern so having a caller call out it's attacks (as Croesus does his animation) will help a lot. Getting hit will reduce your contribution score.
Relying on a team absolutely ruined this, what were they thinking?? I would understand if there was a decent grouping mechanic for bosses but in the current state of the game, within a month it'll be hard to even find 8 people willing to do this.
Pretty sure he heals if you bring unrotted supplies to his core, he uses it as food, so if you have extra rot it before running to middle. Also you don't need powerburst, if you Bladed dive and surge in the same second a few steps outside of the minefield, you will cross the entire thing!
I loved so much the idea of a skilling boss but trying to kill it on a public instance is chaos, especially because the rage bar is so punishing with more players, only got 2 kills so far and it was pure luck
Particles Red heals boss 2.5k Green poisons boss 1k White poisons boss 500 If you look at the timer the mechanics are at certain times so can be avoided easier. The orange blobs can be negated with the crystal mask ancient spell
I think the thing I don’t like about this boss is the reliance on everyone’s support to get the kill. If one person slips up, it’ll almost always cost the kill unless you’re really good. I wish the kills were based more on individual participation like Wintertoldt
i love that you made a guide so quick! it does look confusing yes but it is new, i like the idea! i just think 80% of the people complain are people that boss all the time... and tbh its not really aimed at them.. its aimed at skillers, maybe it shouldn't be it GWD3 but it still love to see other skilling bosses, maybe Solo, Duo or 4 Players max just so you don't have to rely on as many people, But i love to see one using Agility, Thieving , Construction and Firemaking
Tried it a few times today. First on a populated world in a public instance and then with a team of friends/clan members. The difference in experience or enjoyment between the two is night and day. At this time, you really do need a decent team of four to eight players to succeed and have fun. Now, that might change as more and more people get familiarized with the mechanics thanks to videos like this. We will have to wait and see :) ALSO, it feels a lot like a mini-game lol.

Being in sync is so important for this encounter. I tried explaining to my clanmates that if you pray at the statues at the same time, it will just quadruple the amount of time we can attack Croesus. We still got a few kills, though. The most crucial aspect of this strategy is understanding that the skilling area you start at it with a partner, you need to gather 15+ resources each, deplete the node entirely, then continue on to the next two COUNTERCLOCKWISE statues, which will require the resources you just gathered from your starting location. If everyone does this, all the statues will have the required resources to be repaired and prayed at within the first couple of minutes or so. Don't focus on what everyone else is doing, because thinking of this individually, and your own individual movement, will make this so much easier. It's outright sad there's far too many arrogant and complacent people addicted to instant gratification out there who do not have any patience for puzzle solving and group work. The fact I can't solo this and need to have a group is the reason I lost interest after 1 try for this boss. Sad, since I was looking forward to this since I'm not a boss killer, but a skiller. Thought this would be great for me. But I rather do my stuff on my own. So back to skilling and catching up with my quests then.
PSA: If you're 8-manning this boss, you don't actually need to do the rotting. You still need to deplete the creatures for the extra damage, but if you're going quickly enough, you'll get the boss down before any of the creatures regenerate fully without having done the rotting. If you're practicing, though, the rotting is still necessary.
I just feel like this boss doesn’t fit in with the whole elder godwars dungeon they should have made 4 combat bosses, a fifth new group boss, Similar to aod for the dungeon boss, and then for rs3s first ever skilling boss, took the time to fix the matchmaking system we have currently, and then release this. How difficult is it to make a matchmaking system for these guys and be voice connected. Seems like every other game manages to make them just fine. (And cmon you know these lobbies would be absolutely hilarious) @Jagex, give us something fun!!!!
i agree i dont think im going to even do this boss it doesnt look enjoyable at all it looks more like a chore. Im going to stick to the arch glacor for now
A couple of my friends and I knew this stuff a couple of hours in. 7 hours zero kills because of cowboys and yesmen who would rather play solo than to play thier role. Am so let down by this boss and cannot see the frustration of training and retraining havng to boot cowboys and retrain to having to retrain ppl who leave to get a few kills in an hour. Lucky for you if you can find 7 ppl who will actually work in a team.
Right, feel your pain. My experience today was training two different groups on the mechanics, helping get there first kills then being ignored when asked for an invite back into the group. Or being asked to sit on a wait list by a certain pvm group that claims to know what they are doing, only to watch them for an hour struggling and not wanting to accept the fact that they have to follow mechanics otherwise they'll fail. I think it comes down to the fact that some high pvmers have to face the fact that don't know jack about skilling and skillers need to learn some boss mechanics.
The boss is incredibly boring, and playing in public instances is an utter waste of time. Not making it solo able pretty much made it dead on arrival if not for the rewards.
I tried this boss with my clan (and some random players) and had so much fun, even though we didn't get a kill (we were going in pretty much blind). I don't think this boss is boring at all, and I like that it's not (yet?) soloable. RuneScape is an MMORPG after all, there's way too much solo content in this game and a big lack of socialization compared to other popular games within the genre. Honestly, people need to learn to have fun again. I laughed my ass off when I got stuck inside Croesus, not knowing about this bug yet, instead of rant how everything is ruined etc. People focus way too much on the winning aspect of the game instead of on the fun aspect.
@@ericweinzettle5010 ah dam yer is there any seren spell that's hells been on os for past few years but still enjoy rs3 now and again anything post mining and smiting rework not to sure on)
ammount of recources needed is NOT based on group size. its 15 of each 2 types needed per statue. so 30 total per statue. this is the same solo and with 10 player teams. also the process bar isn't rly enrage. its just % til u lose the kill
Have public instances improved or am I better off looking for a team? I'd like to think that it's been enough time for the general player base to be able to carry noobs, unless new players vastly outweigh the experienced players. I know that in oldschool skill bosses, the only real penalty for clueless teammates is usually that they don't get any rewards, they don't always drag the whole team down as long as the majority know what they're doing. Is this boss like that, or can just one moron screw it up for everyone? Or is the majority of public instances still plagued with a constant flow of newcomers, making carrying impossible?
There was a key term you used in this video "it's simple as long as you have a coordinated team of people". That right there is the problem with this boss! Its easy for people to say , "get some friends or a clan" but it's not that simple. This boss is complicated and if you make a mistake it's over. Other group bosses like AOD or yakamaru can still be killed even if someone messes up. The public instances are HORRIFIC. Wasted nearly 3 hours... They need to set specific amounts for encounters (such as public instances with a max group size of 8)
you say you need level 80+ in those skills, but everyone tells me you need level 88? is this true or not. I guess I should just try but im in the 70s for most of those skillls atm.
DO NOT DEPOSIT YOUR RESOURCES, you will only increase his enraging %, just put your stuff in the statue and go gather some more before going to the next one
Why do people keep saying this boss is "very easy" and "very simple"? Like obviously every boss is simple enough to understand with a bit of effort, but this is definitely more complicated than the first two gwd3 bosses
Unfortunately I also found out that some groups on discord are also cancer. Even if you point out one or two mechanics your called an elitist, by elitist claiming to have made bills from the boss already who are struggling to get kills. This is RS.
See people complaining about the boss not being solo able. Well duh it's a group boss. Do it with your clan mates. Or if you prefer to play solo this content is obviously not for you or try and be the 1 that solo's it and proves everyone wrong.
@@ProtoxxGaming As time goes on, and they bother to learn the patterns like listed out in the guide here for the best optimal strategy with whatever friends they can muster together they'll figure out. Or they won't, and angrily scream and cry like 6 year olds for weeks until Jagex caves in to remove it as a Reaper Crew requirement.
Month old comment I know but, I don't think it's the fact of it not being solo that annoys people. I believe it's more of the reliance on the team of players, like if 1 or more people are bad then, you just lose the kill. Where it should be the loot scaling on how well you do, instead of punishing everyone else in the group.

I love that this boss has taught me that there are still so many adults in this world that can't or won't follow a guide or an instruction. Hence why there's so much failed encounters, people just don't want to co operate with other people.
It's outright sad there's far too many arrogant and complacent people addicted to instant gratification out there who do not have any patience for puzzle solving and group work. Kinda like in SAO Abridged where the main villain in part of his rant lambasts people adamantly refusing to work together.
@@RandoGrunt Hundred percent agree. In fact, decided not to let it get me down and got together a group of random 6-7 people and we did just fine. not perfect but we got 5/6 kills.
@@Thebt7 Very and hope ya'll added each other to your friends list incase the urge for you all rises to do it again. I am hopeful over time this does get people to be a bit more social with their mates or stop playing with public chat: off all the time. Reminds me of previous group bosses like ROT6 and Vorago that do require some teamwork and mini-games like Barbarian Assault.
You can use escape for smoke bombs if you don't have bladed dive

@@ProtoxxGaming Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response you're the best!
At least this has made me good profit from selling super restores. That looks like the only value I'll gain from this sad update.
Oh 8man - was hoping for a 4man guide so i dont have to explain 4man to every person when i host - will you do a guide on 4man and 3man?
Im going to stick to the arch glacor for now
Man this would be an amazing use for the *BLESSED FLASK* had some additional uses like super restores.
Yeah, honestly its pretty retarded you are only allowed to fill it with extreme prayer potions
You the Best thing to happen to Runescape, thanks for the guide
Thanks for the compliment
This is probably my favorite boss, group play, easy to learn, and safe from dying for the most part, and best of all, awesome drops!
I thought the cinderbanes and weapon poison was a bug that was fixed?
It's using cinderbanes without weapon poison that's bugged
Did zygomite food just get nerfed??
I mean i heard u can use fungus for food.... And it buys for like 100gp ea
orthen furnace core also functions as a way to burn the sticky fungus,
30k to 100k Subscribers...
I'm cheering for you
We're getting there!!
that soundtrack in background such nostalgia...
It's actually a relatively new rs soundtrack called "Graveyard" it sounds similar to some nostalgic songs from a videogame I forgot tho
@@ProtoxxGaming yea it seems I though that track is something else.. sounds like some sort dejavu track, you think you heard it before ;o
I saw a post on reddit saying it is super restore potion at the boss that heals it. Have not tried myself
If you dont one cycle the boss do you have to get the resources on the statues all over again or is that a one time thing?
If you don’t kill it within the time provided by the four statues, you lose
If you do one statue at a time though?
my clan is gonna 4 man and none of us have done this before. were all watching the guide and giving it a shot. RIP in advance. -kreez
Thank god this is here
Offhands for any use?
Could use the mobile relic then.
Any other relic?
I believe they said the woodcutting one would be useful.
I couldnt tell by the video but does praying at the statues give prayer xp? I hope not
The boss is incredibly boring, and playing in public instances is an utter waste of time. Not making it solo able pretty much made it dead on arrival if not for the rewards.
It'll be good content when people learn it, Dead on arrival is an unfair assumption since it's not even a full day old yet, lol
Maybe give people time to learn the mechanics and make some friends.
@@FuckedUpGenius Hard to have fun on something you just don’t find fun. Also, group content has been pretty mediocre in RuneScape.
hes right it is boring af and shit. Mind you the other fronts being arch glacor and kerapac have been really good
are overloads not helpfuil to stop stat draining?
I thought so too but overloads are only for combat stats.
True. I forgot to mention that!
Thanks now I wont be looking like a chicken with it's head cut off next time I go try this boss out
That was basically me during release hour hahaha
Now that was fast. 🙃
I thought poisoning the boss is unintended. Is it safe to do this with poison without any game breaking reports?
I can guarantee no one will be banned for doing that.
Finally a real guide
real guide? he literally tells you to use resourceful aura which is quite possibly the worse aura to use as it makes it WORSE
They made Kerapac and Glacor boss soloable as a option, but not this boss? That is outright lame! They should have a solo able option for this boss.
you can solo it.... its hard but you can
They probably do make some changes in the future, if they get more than 1000 complaints.
They need to set specific amounts for encounters (such as public instances with a max group size of 8)
cinderbane and wp was a big and has been fixed
Since its so team dependant it should have been more with wintertodt imo...
Ahh yes a boss that is nearly impossible to do unless you can coordinate a time with 4-7 friends to actually do it.. RIP Final Boss
It is actually really easy if all the teammates know what they are doing.
@@Alar.Lillevali Right. the hard part is finding 4-7 people 6 months from now to do it.

Ty!
you say you need level 80+ in those skills, but everyone tells me you need level 88? is this true or not. I guess I should just try but im in the 70s for most of those skillls atm.
88 is for the skilling plots outside. Not related to the boss encounter.
DO NOT DEPOSIT YOUR RESOURCES, you will only increase his enraging %, just put your stuff in the statue and go gather some more before going to the next one
imagine finding a group....
Never done group content before, but this actually looks fun. How to find a good Guild or group of mates soon to start doing this "end-game" content.
If you find the answer for this let me know. Also a pain if your on the opposite time zone to everyone else
So who gets what loot and how is that shared if one gets crypt?
tried this with 5 friends, any idea why we only do 200 damage per hit on the boss when all the statues are active?
All the boss nodes need to be depleted and rotted with 10 rot to deal more damage
@@markwilson4540 thanks!
Been doing it all day with same group of 8 best we got was boss half health. No kc yet
Reminds me of a Destiny 2 style raid boss.
It's not a hard boss once you know how to do it. It's a good time for people to join clans
Why do people keep saying this boss is "very easy" and "very simple"? Like obviously every boss is simple enough to understand with a bit of effort, but this is definitely more complicated than the first two gwd3 bosses
Boss is easy, but public is cancer. If you don't have friends or clan that understand the boss it's not fun.
Unfortunately I also found out that some groups on discord are also cancer. Even if you point out one or two mechanics your called an elitist, by elitist claiming to have made bills from the boss already who are struggling to get kills. This is RS.
Are regular restores good enough?
nope, need to be super restores
Spam Surge instead of bladed dive the shrooms as wont pause and drain stats
Gp/hr estimates?
thanks a lot :D

I believe cinders was a bug btw... youtube thinks ima bot so cant post urls, but mod miva on reddit
See people complaining about the boss not being solo able. Well duh it's a group boss. Do it with your clan mates. Or if you prefer to play solo this content is obviously not for you or try and be the 1 that solo's it and proves everyone wrong.
Like if they want to go back to Soloing, the Arch Glacor is right F*cking there.
@@RandoGrunt They do need a single kill for reaper crew though
Not very difficult boss with right group and strategy. Got into 2 random groups and with both fastest kills were under 5mins.
im dealing 900damage in the middle and not 1900 like u in the vid what i am doing wrong ?
You haven't killed the fungus on the bosses or you have but it already came back.
God I absolutely HATE playing with pubbies! But at least they're getting better as the day goes on. Actually won three in a row with a pubbie group. They're just incredibly, terribly, painstakingly hard to find
cheeeeeeeeeeeeers
Poorly done skilling boss unfortunately. Imagine suggesting a group of 8 but one person not knowing what they're doing in a public lobby can ruin the kill for everyone. Osrs did skilling bosses better and that dissapoints me greatly
Pls update this guide , as a 4 man is a completely different boss
I will eventually but I kinda hate croesus
