Hi everyone,
Three things to address!
One: I so badly flubbed the original country of origin for House of Anubis. Many of you have informed me it is a Dutch-Belgium co production. I am not totally sure how I messed this up, I swear I was aware of that but for some reason just did not remember at time of filming. That is entirely on me and thank you to those who have pointed it out.
Two: I have seen the comments about the volume and RUclips is a stinker and do not provide the tools to raise the volume. I have not had any issues on my end but that does not mean it is not an issue for others. I apologize and will make sure to up the volume next upload.
Three: Yet again I make the mistake in language. The clip I used was dubbed in Russian not Dutch like I said...for that I really just wasn't paying attention until it was brought to my attention. Still, I apologize for that flub hopefully it made you laugh.
Anyway, I will do better next go around. I am still new to making this type of content and still have a long way to go. I am not perfect and tbh rushed the editing so it is not as perfect or well polished as it should be. Still, I am overwhelmed by the love and attention this series has received. I truly could even imagine it reaching so many. I promise to do better in the future and thank everyone who has given me tips on how to improve!

FINALLY SOMEONE DID THIS. This show plagued my childhood and caused so many nightmares for me and NOONE knows about it, nobody made a video on it that goes in DEEP, nothing. THANK YOU KEEP IT UP ILY🙏🫶
Gurl I randomly remembered how obsessed I was as a child when this show was airing in the nights and was hella devastated when I couldnt find the show anywhere.
I was for sure heartbroken when Netflix removed it years ago with no warning. Before Paramount+ existed, the last time I had seen an actual episode was probably when it was still airing...which was over 10 years ago...CRAZY!

I was obsessed with this show when I was like 11 but it seems no one else remembers it or ever brings it up when talking about 2000s/early 2010s kids shows
omg i just rewatched this show as a college student and realized just how much of a chokehold this show had on me (and only me bc no one else seems to know this show existed???)
I was sooo obsessed with this show but I cannot remember the majority of the plot😩so this has made me very happy
I’m hyped for this. I was OBSESSED with this ridiculous child soap opera when I was 9.
I was a MASSIVE fan of this show. And I had a vendetta against season 3 pretended it didn't exist.
I still refuse to give any attention to season 3. Nina is my girl and I, even when I was younger, refused to watch any episode without her...I remember being hyped for the finale movie thing cause it was rumored Nathalia would be returning...was disappointed to find out she did not.
i literally thought that i hallucinated this show as a child, when they randomly took it off netflix one day i couldn’t remember the name or find it again 😭 so glad to see other ppl actually have seen it loll 😅😭
Younger me was SO upset when they took it off Netflix because Nick never played reruns of it. So glad for Paramount+ for having this!!

this show gets buckwild, egyptian secrets, artifacts, immortality, the afterlife, spirits, ghosts, mythical choesen ones, destiny, and gods incarnating into form, gir the three seasons of this show plus the tv movie kinda slayed
I'm from Belgium and I used to be obsessed with the original House of Anubis (it was Dutch) ❤
Sometime before COVID outbreak, I've started a band which was supposed to mix light prog in the vein of early Roxy Music, Supertramp, 70s Queen and 10CC with jazz(plus darkly humorously lyrics). Nothing came out it finally, but what's important is that I named it Sibuna(as I was researching "HoA" at that time, I don't remember why). I didn't identify myself with situations present on the show, I just liked the word.
Quality content
I remember making my own merch ( locket, amulets, cup...) because there was no official merchandise
The lack of merch is sooo interesting. I think someone mentioned a book so that could def be floating around out there. But its so cool that you made your own!
@@laurenvaughnstephens right, I only remember couple of books, DVD's and board game and that's it. There was so much potential for more but making my own was very fun

The original show is actually Dutch! I am Dutch and I loved it as a kid and still do, I do not have a connection to this version tho. Obviously I will always find our version superior to the remakes haha ut cool someone is making a video about this, I've wanted to make like a video on the Dutch version for a long time.
You should!! I only became aware of the original because of making this and would be so interested to see a deep dive or any type of coverage on the original!!

@@laurenvaughnstephens hahaha, that's okay. also btw wild that apparantly the main character isn't in the third season??? I am so surprised how much this show will differ from the one I know. (haven't fully had time to watch your whole video yet but I was gonna finish this one and watch part 2 now) The Dutch House of Anubis had 4 seasons, Nina (or in Dutch, Nienke) is in all of them and an important character, also there are many movies and musicals. Anyways sorry for the rant I am just baffled and excited to learn things about this show now. (also hilarious they made the episodes 10 minutes everywhere, i know they were airing with like a commercial between them but its just so funny having to watch like 90 minisodes.)
Also do you maybe have tips for like how you did research for this video, I truly wanna give the world a piece of the Dutch version but it seems very overwhelming to plan out. (obviously watching the show)

I remember being OBSESSED with this show when it was coming out and then I tried to rewatch it like a year ago and the acting was so bad 😭 but I def appreciate the recap bc then I don’t have to deal w the bad acting rewatch
Somehow the acting did not bother me...idk if I was just ignoring it or what but I completely understand cause sometimes I was def giggling at a scene that was serious.

as a Dutch person the names of the characters are so funny because they are all just slightly off. you calling joy Joyce makes a lot of sense because that is her name in the Dutch original!

By contrast, the German names are nothing like, except for Nina.
@@laurenvaughnstephens As far as I know(and this isn't much, given my very limited command of Dutch language) Joyce is generally nicer than her British version, nor is she hostile to Nina at any point(though the subplot of her journalist work exists in both versions).
@@laurenvaughnstephens But then again, it's hinted that season 2 Joy isn't her usual self- she was just still traumatised after what happened the year before and bursting with envy toward Nina. She noticeably mellows after joining Sibuna.
@@romualdandrzejczak4093 It has been a while since I have seen season two but I think that is correct for Joy as well but also a bit of jealousy cause she likes Fabian but him and Nina are together. It is for sure an interesting difference if she is different from her british version.

Okay so it wasnt German, it was in Dutch. it was a Dutch (from The Netherlands) and Belgian co production. If you make an almost two hour video maybe fact check?????

I stopped watching the show the second Fabina wasn’t canon in season three. Amber leaving didn’t help either. That’s my number one ship and my favourite character and they’re both gone? No thanks.
No literally! Luckily, a person who worked on the show (idk if writer or producer) believes that Nina and Fabian end up together so I am considering them cannon in my world!!
