- Fall Wardrobe Switchover & BIG Clear Out
A lot of you all have asked about my process for switching over my wardrobe for the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer seasons, so I thought I'd put together a video that explains what I do on a bi-annual basis and how I (mostly) keep my wardrobe as lean as possible, since I'm a NYC lady. The video is a bit long so I've left time-stamps below so you can skip around as you want.
I also left the video off with me sending off my 'For Days' take-back bag. I received $60 in site credit fairly immediately and I'm still noodling on what I'm going to redeem it on, but overall I definitely think I'll use the service again and I do recommend it for donating/recycling clothing.

HIGH LEVEL PROCESS
1. Go through current season clothing and edit - just get it out of closet even
2. Move out clothes that are strictly of that season
3. Move out clothes that are dirty or need to be altered
4. Unpack boxes and do light edit of the current season
5. Move new season clothes in and/or the cleaned/altered clothes
MY 2023 CRITERIA FOR CLOTHES I KEPT VS. GAVE AWAY/SOLD
Give away (things I don’t love)
- Synthetic fabrics
- Uncomfortable fit (too high neck), too high and tight on arm pits
- Too oversized and cannot be tailored
- Anything generally unflattering
- Anything too sheer
Keep (things I love)
- Comfortable tailored pieces (Zara linen vest, linen pants)
- Drawstring pants
- Linen/breathable fabrics
- Zara 3/4 length sleeve sweaters
- Cos oversized T-shirts
- Uniqlo T-shirts

Thank you for this! I edit my closet regularly and find it so helpful and interesting to watch someone else’s process, especially someone with similar taste and style. Your strategy is great. One thing I’ve found very helpful is taking a daily selfie; I then scroll through my selfie folder regularly- this not only reminds me of favorite looks I’ve styled, which I can then tweak and repeat, but also has helped me see when an item is unflattering or “not me” and needs to be sold/ donated. Also, ITA that purging feels good-I feel as excited by a culling as I do a haul, as I know in both cases that my wardrobe has become more functional. Thanks again for the work you put into this video.
I’m so glad you liked it! And I couldn’t agree more about taking selfies of your favorite looks, it’s so helpful to reference, especially if you’re in a hurry and panicking about what to wear
