This is awesome and GREAT video! I'm a noob to Ecamm, so I'm sorry if this is asked and answered, but can you share your screen and cam simultaneously with this new IG update? I want to show a product demo from my Macbook & have the talking head shot simultaneously on a live stream on IG Vertical. and... Is TikTok on the roadmap? :)
Welcome to the Ecamm Fam! Yes, you fully control what you're showing/sharing to Instagram Live. It could be an interview, rolling a video clip, sharing your screen, posting fun gifs, anything you want. You can stream to TikTok with Ecamm right now. You do that with RTMP. Here's how: support.ecamm.com/en/articles/3217771-streaming-using-a-stream-key
I am trying to set up my first EC cam live to Instagram and I’m still confused because I understand that that key is only good for a certain amount of hours so does that mean that I should not set up my live in advance or set them all and then add Instagram last minutebecause I’ve tried it before it wasn’t successful and I was just super stressed ended up having to use my phone to live stream to Instagram but they couldn’t really see me looking into the camera. It was just more of like watching me. Talk to everyone else. I’m going live as a Q&A to talk about a launch of a stand-up paddleboard couch to 5K program. I’m the ambassador for starting Sunday.
Hi there! Your stream key can only be used for one stream (it expires after you use it). It's not timed. Hopefully that'll help reduce some of the stress you're feeling. I'd say to use Instagram's practice mode to get comfortable with how everything looks and feels before you go live for real. That way, you'll feel a lot more confident. Good luck! We believe in you :)
Great video ... Got it work (almost) immediately after watching this, comments and all. I wish we understood the landscape viewing in Instagram, because our show MUST be in landscape (always either two hosts or host and guest). One question: what exactly happens if you choose Practice instead of Public?
Glad you got it up and running! Instagram will show in landscape on some browsers, but not on the mobile view. If you need it to be in landscape, it might not be the best option for you. Practice mode in Instagram Live only shows up to you. And comments you leave won't come into Ecamm.
one more question. If i am streaming to IG and the guest also has IG and uses the interview link how can we show that the guest is live as well on their IG account?
Unfortunately, their Instagram wouldn't know that they were a live guest on your account so the only way to notify would be for them to post on their IG saying that they're joining the show. There wouldn't be an IG notification.
Is there a way to use both Instagram and RUclips live with two people at once? Since IG is vertical will ECAM allow guest to be vertical instead of landscape as well?
Hi Cia! Yes, you can absolutely multistream to both Instagram and RUclips Live using Ecamm. It'll show up on Instagram Live cropped to the 9:16 ratio. It won't put the guests into vertical, but you can use the Vertical Safe Zone feature in Ecamm to see what the 9:16 space looks like and plan to have the important parts in that space. Or you can go vertical to both RUclips Live and IG. On YT it'll show up in the Shorts section.
@@EcammLive thank you so much for the speedy response. one more question if I kept in in landscape could I switch scenes while going live? So scene on host and then guest whenever they speak so manually using as a switcher of sorts?
Of course! (You can always practice and ask questions in our Community, too - ecamm.tv/community? ) Yes, with Ecamm you can switch scenes, camera switch, add graphics, bring in guests, etc. And you can do all of this in either landscape or vertical format. You can also record, stream, multistream, or all of the above :)
Unfortunately since YESTERDAY June 11 it is no longer working properly, you can make direct but the messages of the attendees do not appear in Ecamm Live. Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks !!
Please get in touch with our technical support team using the live chat at ecamm.tv/3VEPIIE so we can take a look. We haven't heard of any issues with it, so we'll definitely want to see what's going on.
Great, thank you! We did some testing this morning and it's all working on our end, so we'll have to get to the bottom of what's going on for you. Thanks!
Hi! This is great. I have a question. Do you know how someone else, say an influencer, can go live on their IG and then they add you as a guest, and be able to to go via Ecamm with all the functions, like being able to add overlays, or a new scene?
Hi there! Great question. You can add a guest to your Instagram Live stream by using Ecamm's Interview Mode or our Zoom integration, but this will just add them into the scene as a guest and won't give them controls over Ecamm. We don't have a co-host mode or a way to share production controls.
If they're joining you as a guest on your Instagram Live, then they'd only show up on your livestream and not on their own channel unless they shared the link (if that makes sense).
That's an Instagram feature and not something we can do in Ecamm, unfortunately. It would have to be initiated by the guest. You could multistream to their Instagram and your Instagram using Ecamm, but they'd need to give you (temporary) access to their account in order to set that up.
Your video was very helpful. I am experiencing one issue, though. The Instagram Live comments display as "Instagram User" for each comment. How do I get their handles, avatars, etc. to post as well?
Hmm... that's strange. Do you mind sending that through to our technical support team so we can take a look? Go to our website and click on the orange chat icon to open a ticket.
