found this artist recently, man he got talent... perfect blend of psy chill, melodies with a killer drum beat, how he ramps up effects and layers in the sounds, amazing.

No doubt Mr. Кristinsson (UCP) is a talented musician, which is why I was less than impressed with this offering. He seems to be having trouble moving beyond his dance-club routine. It wasn't until the 18-minute mark that things got mildly interesting--with the involvement of Pantograph--but even then it was "just" dance. Don't get me wrong; nothing "wrong" with dance, per se, it's just that Runar is capable of so much more. I'd love to hear him experiment some: Mix up the tempo!
Thanks for posting, Muse. I hope that my critical reviews don't put you in an uncomfortable position, but I've got to call them as I see them. And thanks to Mr. Kristinsson, too. Keep up the good work, Amigo, and never stop exploring.

Dunno man, really sounds like you're walking into an apple orchard expecting oranges. This sounds like a particular form of electronica more geared towards upbeat ambient ala Stellardrone, Solar Fields, Blutech. Trying to judge its merits by comparing it to club dance is just silly.

@@RussyPopDnD Please note that I did not make comparisons. When your career devolves into a series of comparisons with better works, no matter how lofty the measure, it's a sure sign that it's just more of the same.
That you would settle for less says more about you than Mr. Kristinsson. I hope.

@@namzarf "He seems to be having trouble moving beyond his dance-club routine" - this is literally a comparison. You are taking his music and saying "hey, this seems overly reminiscent of that". Which isn't an inherently bad thing. But hooo boy you reek of unwarranted ego in this regard. Imagine thinking he, or this channel, would care about your half-baked opinion. Peace.

    • @namzarf

@@RussyPopDnD "... this is literally a comparison." Please note that I was not the one comparing one artist against another---as you were---I was categorizing the work with regards to genre. Thus the "dance-club routine" characterization. No comparisons. I'm rather annoyed that I'd have to explain this to you.
Maybe next time you might critique the work instead of criticizing my appraisal. so we'd have a basis for a conversation---or not (which would be my preference).
Finally, we should talk about whether this work will sell. Would I buy this? NO. Will most of the folks who listen to this spend the money? I suspect not. Nor is this is the creative genius that will "get discovered" somewhere down the road. It's just the same old stuff. The difference is that you are OK with that while I know that Runar Кristinsson is better than this. Again, that says everything about you.
      Over and out.
