They changed it last minute because they came up with the song "Let It Go" half way through production. After that they didn't wanna make Elsa the villain anymore and just used Hans instead. Which made absolutely no sense, because even in scenes where it's just Hans by himself we don't see any signs of him starting to turn on Anna, which pisses me off. @@Alo-Alois I feel like it makes him an even better villain. There are little hints of him being manipulative, and everything he does fits with his plot. That smile after meeting Anna for the first time could be seen as "Nice, getting in with this royal family is gonna be evil. This princess is so ready to be loved she won't see me coming. So even if I fail with her sister this plan could still work."
And he just follows her lead the whole time and is whoever she wants him to be.
Why shouldn't Disney have less obvious villains who are more subtle and manipulative?
This is a safe way to introduce kids to betrayal and the idea that just because you seem to get along with people right from the start, doesn't mean they're good for you.
And thank F**k he wasn't just her fiance after just meeting. Cinema has a rich history of normalising getting attached too quickly. Especially for movies targeted to younger people.

    • @Alo-Alois
      @Alo-Alois 6 месяцев назад +18

@HiGummbi It would've been better if they showed his intentions instead of just throwing the random evilness in there. If you actually want to see how that lesson plays out, then I suggest watching either Gravity Falls or The Owl House. They do it way better. The fact that Hans just becomes a villain out of literally nowhere is the worst twist ever and doesn't work at all. There are multiple videos that will explain why. And that little smile at the beginning? That's literally what makes it horrible because that's an endearing smile that Anna doesn't even see. So what's the point in smiling like that if she doesn't see it. And he's constantly is in disagreement with The Duke of Weselton, so again, what's the point? It's very obvious that they changed the plot halfway through at that point, which they did.

Anna wasn't there, he could have easily just "accidentally" taken a few seconds longer so that Elsa got killed. But he helped her not only by stopping her from hurting the men (which would have made everyone turn against her & helped him really) but then warned her about the other shot that sent the chandelier falling. He could have let her die if that was his plan all along & still would have come off as the hero who just couldn't save her. Or let her kill the men & manipulated the situation to make her look evil like everyone already thought. He literally had nothing to gain by saving her in that moment if he had planned to kill her all along like he said in the end.

I don't remember it fully, but I saw this theory once.
Hans is one of many brothers in line to be King in his kingdom. He would never be King there because of all people before him in the line since he was one of the youngest.
I don't recall it why or how, but he knew about a mysterious and shy princess from the neighboring kingdom. And he started to have this platonic love and curiosity towards Elsa. Later on, their parents dies, news everywhere but no sign of the princess till the day of her coronation.
Then Hans goes to Arindelle to meet Elsa, who he always had the platonic feeling.
But he meet Anna thinking she was Elsa.
With all this being said, Hans' plans was meet the platonic love of his life, Elsa, marrying her and became a king in other place because in his kingdom the line was too long. But everything turns upside down when he envolves himself with Anna, the youngest princess, insted of Elsa, the older princess and future queen of Arindelle.
So he couldn't hurt Elsa because he wanted to be the king, so he had to have a good reputation to be worth of the throne. And maybe he couldn't kill her because of his heart. At the end is possible to see this kinda glimpse, like with Anna he left her to die with such cold blood, but when he tries to reach out Elsa in prison he was much softer and delicate with her.
So.... this theory is quite something to think about 😂

It doesn't need to be enough of a connection to make him change his mind about his plans, for it to still be there.

Also yes all manipulators are sociopathic and lack empathy, because the whole thing about manipulation is to trick people for selfish gain. 1 example is how Hans manipulates Anna into trusting him by defending her from the Duke. I get that some people use manipulation for good causes, but when we hear the term "manipulator" its usually referring to the whole personality of the person, like a narcissist.

Ok but a really good indicator that Hans wanted the throne was when him and Anna first interacted, “if you were to bump into my sister Elsa, yeesh, but lucky for you ITS JUST ME” and Hans took that as she is the only heir SO he wouldn’t have to kill Elsa cause she didn’t exist in Hans mind. But when Hans found out about Elsa and Anna was sick and the one guy says “you are all Arendelle has left” he could push his way to the top by taking out Elsa and Anna. Elsa freaking out and showing her powers was a bonus cause the kingdom was already against her cause the Duke of Weselton make a bad image for her. BOOM

Btw he mentioned that as he is the 13th child his own 12 big brothers won't let him be a king so he has the only way to be crowned if he marries a queen, but Elsa always knocked people out from herself and Anna is searching for love life since she was a kid, so his deceitful plan was created from the beginning.
In fact, he didn't want to kill anyone all by himself, Anna is about to die and he shows that Elsa is the reason of her dying, he just blurted out that Elsa is a witch. She had killed her sister because Hans's planned was to announce she's harmful and people made him to give her death sentence

It's actually heart-warming and heart-wrenching at the same time to know that this conspiracy is the type that a person who cannot spot Manipulation and live in a very close-knitted community would actually make.
Just because the trolls are kept mysterious in the plot for having such abilities and lived far away from civilisation, they're naturally suspected for foul play. And the amount of easy trust you put to a creature that looks and groomed like you, it's telling...
Back to the topic, if the trolls were to jinx Hans, they have to get close to him to work the magic, which evidently they never stumbled across each other. Manipulation includes mixing truth and lies to make their story trustworthy and easy to twist. I was also fooled by Hans, *not gonna lie,* but if after all of the plot and still try to believe his innocence is just a more definite proof that his manipulation really does works!
So in a sense, this is not a conspiracy, but a proof of how manipulative the character Hans is 👍👍👍

You can hear in “Love is an open door” when he sings the line “we finish each other’s-“ and gets cut off by Anna saying “Sandwiches.” His face goes confused but ultimately goes with it. Obviously the line was meant to be “Sentences” but i feel like this his confusion hinted at him going along with what she said just so she liked him more and more, up until he proposed.

Both are womanizers, falling in love with women because they're famous or rich. Perhaps Han pretended to like Anna to become King of Arendelle, when Anna becomes Queen. Maybe Han/Hans wanted to marry Anna only for fame. And Leia wasn't your typical princess. She was tough, strong and sarcastic, as he was. It also adds weight to the line "Do you think a princess and a guy like me could-" He's genuinely asking, because last time he tried to marry a princess, it was for the glory, this time it's for the fortune.

They didn't change it "halfway through", that plan was changed before they began actually shooting the movie. It was originally based o The Snow Queen, but they recognized as they were putting the screenplay and music together that it was more interesting if Elsa wasn't a villain.
Hans's intentions are planted from the start (i.e. warnings not to marry so soon, his interest in finding his "place", the way he happily takes over) The groundwork is established and the intention from the first scene is for him to become a villain, they just didn't want to give it away too early.

In a case like with scar from lion King it is actually canon that dark maned lion's are more wanted than light maned lion's which means mufasa did something stupid to make scar the bad guy and make everyone turn against scar. In little Mermaid it is canon from the comics that Morgana and Ursula are Triton's younger siblings which whatever triton did to piss them off turned them into villains at that point. Maleficent wanted revenge on Stefan and his wife for taking her wings and since she couldn't do anything too terrible she made a somewhat less deadly curse fall over Aurora as Aurora was key to the kingdom.

Whether it’s by violence or manipulation.” Also they’re sexualizing a lot of these Disney shows/movies. One of the older movies I fondly remember as a kid was “the road to el Dorado” which had a pretty intimate/mature scene for it being rated PG. not even PG-13 which would’ve made more sense. I vividly remember thinking isn’t this what adults do? I thought this was for kids and I check to make sure it was PG. I’m not even surprised anymore with what’s going on. Y'all keep saying it was his plan from the start but it wasn't. Not until he realized how alone she was without any real support. His ambition from the start was too have a kingdom. When he saw the opportunity with Anna, he flipped the script. He didn't plan it from the start. Circumstances just led him there.

This is a very legit fan theory, because Hans also had opportunities when he was alone to kill Elsa, and didn’t. So it makes sense that he was changed.

Its in the song Hans sings in the beginning. Hans had a plan to use Anna from the start, because of Elsa though he formulated a new plan since he could become king easier.

No cus in the song “love is an open door”, there’s a part where it says “you and I were meant to be.” But Hans is the one that says “you” and Anna is the one that says “and I”. Then they both say “meant to be.” Sooo he was evil all along

During Love Is An Open Door, Hans says ‘you’ and Anna says ‘And I’ yk finishing sentences
    But meaning just Anna
He was never really a part of it and he never wanted to be, he just wanted the throne

Although, this is a great way to think of it, but People would play with other emotions and feelings. They will tell you they Love you then go out and say they hate you. He was acting because he wanted the crown, he wanted everything that came with it.

In fact it's the only explanation that does work. There are many things he did before that scene, that had he planned to take over the kingdom and didn't actually care, he wouldn't have done. The most obvious one is his smile when he lifts the boat after meeting Anna. There's nobody around to see play it up for and Anna is walking away. It's a genuine smile for a himself, and does not reflect the smile from someone who's thinking they found their target or anything like that.

Nah... cause Hans was singing "I've been searching my whole life to find my own place..." and talking about all his brothers moving into the palace. It was all premeditated, he took Anna for an idiot. Still say she should have just pushed him into the water when she first met him.

But when he meets Anna, his outfit matches Elsa's coronation outfit, because he was going to go after her. It's only after, when they go to meet Elsa that his outfit matches Annas. It was hinting his plans to take over the kingdom from the beginning.

No Hans was a manipulative man from the beginning....in the song " love is an open door"he says "I've been searching my whole life to find my own place" this was the revelation of his true nature. Later when he was assured that all Arendelle people were depending upon him he showed his true colours.
