Set in 1967, THE MIRACLE CLUB follows the story of three generations of close friends, Lily (Maggie Smith), Eileen (Kathy Bates), and Dolly (Agnes O'Casey) of Ballygar, outside Dublin, who win a pilgrimage to the sacred French town of Lourdes, that place of miracles that draws millions of visitors each year. Just before their trip, their old friend Chrissie (Laura Linney) arrives in Ballygar for her mother's funeral. The women set out on the journey that they hope will change their lives, with Chrissie, a skeptical traveler, joining in place of her mother. Along the way, old wounds are reopened, forcing the women to confront their pasts even as they travel in search of a miracle.

If you stream it you can turn on the subtitles, Amazon and Netflix have it. Missed it in the theaters.

It’s well done, great cast, acting, both my husband and I really enjoyed it.
Just got done watching this movie... It's so refreshing to see married men and women together! But the best part for me is seeing a group of women supporting each other...
Kathy Bates doing a top notch Irish accent! Looks like a lovely film can’t wait to see it.
Just saw this utterly delightful and well-acted movie. A cast of incredibly talented professionals who work their characters to perfection. Maggie Smith is always worth the price of admission, no matter what she does. At age 89, she has lost nothing -- and she most definitely has the most perfect Irish accent/brogue -- amazing.
One wonders how many Irish people you know, if the bleedin' Oirish accents in this film, including that put on by dear old Madge, wowed you. Maggie's a great actress - not so much with her touch of blarney, here, alas.
It’s about time we are getting a movie worth seeing . Been many years since I’ve wanted to go to the theatre . I’ll definitely go for this .

Go to Lourdes. Non Catholics and even non believers have professed that there is something not of this world at the Sanctuary of Our Lady.
The dusk candle light procession of the Rosary in multiple languages is special.
And the high Mass in the courtyard in the mornings and after, individually administered extreme unction of the ill in semi-recliners, is very very moving.
the Sanctuary has its own youtube livestreaming channel...in case you might be interested.
There's a train station in the town, so it is accessible.
But I would recommend doing the Classical France tour with Gate1 Travel and particularly with tour leader Anne-Mett Ullerup. She is very thorough and very very well informed.
Me too I’d love to go to Lourdes, I went to Knock 22 years ago and it was amazing. I also went to Rome 10 years ago and seeing the Holy Father was a life altering experience. God bless you X

(SPOILER ALERT)
That Maggie Smith's character is dying (notice how she is in a wheelchair in aome scenes) and that one of the miracles they are seeking is her to get better, but she will still die, and hence the meaning of that pastor's message of finding hope when there is no miracle.
I love this I'm so in I'm going to see it in the theatres in the big-screen like movies deserve to be seen and these beautiful actresses deserve to be seen on the big screen but Above All Our Lady of Lourdes deserves to be seen on the big screen!

Indeed, all great actors (Stephen Rea!), but Laura Linney's character seems from the present day - looks like she went back in time, not just "back home".

Spoilers:
a story of a woman(Chrissie) in her late 50s attended her mother's funeral in Ireland she's all the way from America, She wasnt been home for 40 years, as she was shunned away when she became pregnant and refused her mother wishes to enter nunnery. She have childhood and neighbors friends Declan and Eileen , Declan was the father and He wanted to marry Chrissie and his mother(Lily) dont want the marriage to happen(she was wild as she put it) , when Chrissie was kicked out and went to america , Declan killed himself, Chrissie aborted her pregnancy in america and became a health professional(doctor or nurse etc) while Eileen apparently dont supported her friend(Chrissie) when she needed her most and ratted her out to her mother for being pregnant. After the funeral she was invited to go to Lourdes she doesnt want to but went anyway and in there they opened up with each other and brought up past actions as mentioned and Eileen assuming Chrissie is trying to hook up with the Priest and then yada yada yada...despite all of that they just kinda understood each other and forgave each other.
Just saw this film, really enjoyed it. Great acting and the accents were well done. It felt authentic of the time ot was set in. Didn't fall into the trap of what we see a lot now, films set in a different time and been given modern day views.
Cannot wait to watch this.
