From my time with classic Cammy, air grab was a super helpful anti-air to learn early. Mainly since it builds reactions and trying to notice your opponents jump in patterns.
Honestly it's good if beginners are learning the fundamentals first and the more damage combos later. You don't need high level stuff to beat opponents, so when you do learn the high level things later (option select, using meter drive gauge), your fundamentals are rewarded more. Making the learning process more apparent. Also if they learn the drive rush cancel now, they might get into a bad habit of being burned out. Which is especially bad if you don't know how to deal with yourself in burnout. I rather have my drive to parry and DI at a beginner level where DI is more common Also if you want to do the "infinite" light combo, he can do crouching light punch cancel into spiral arrow since you are holding down, so the qcf is slightly easier
I'm using classic because I like all my buttons, but the highest I've reached is Platinum because . . . I just want to press buttons. Meanwhile, Vtubers like Botan and Subaru who started out as beginners on Modern Control this year are now Master Rank 😹💖
Plat is very good for someone just pressing buttons, just keep on having fun until you decide to actually start intentionally pressing these buttons. It'll come naturally in time
Sykkuno is a grinder, start by teaching him that things exist your treating him like his a child lol. He was able to learn Tekken 8 and play in a decent level in under a month as his first fighting game, there's no need to hold back. Also his the type of guy who loves to learn cool things and if finds something cool he will learn it.
It’s simple in fg, the winner is the better player. Ryu didn’t win because he don’t have a strat against jab, he may have good combo but it don’t matter if you can’t touch your opponent
Yeah, when you're new it's easy to see a player who has motion inputs or a "real combo" down as the better player, but if they have shit for defense and can't play neutral they're not _the better player,_ they're just better at that one thing.
He most likely doesn't understands the properties of using his OD special Vs normal special. Mostly thinking that there is no point doing it wasting meter. Or he don't know how to in the first place or forgot due to information overwhelmed
I think Sykkuno is still tekken hardcoded lol. Hes sitting on his drive bars because it still hasnt properly registered for him what those do. I dont think he even properly understand what parry is and how its an option. I get it though. Same thing happened to a friend of mine who was more of a tekken player.
Yeah, I feel like beginners take a while before they start to really engage with system mechanics. I don't think I used drive rush or od moves until maybe gold
I feel like one thing Sykunno needs to do, is go into practice mode and learn a bit about the game like how to drive rush, drive parry, how to EX/do OD moves The jabs will only take him so far in the long run

There's also something way more demoralizing about getting hit by an air grab when you're starting out. It's an excellent tool to have early.
@@P0rk_Sinigang Dude normal command grabs are so demoralizing cuz their animations are long, but they do like 10% of your health
"Lethal company an amongus clone" I knew you lived and breathed fighting games but this statement was wild
What do you mean? He is right
@@evilded2 isnt lethal company and pve extraction horror game?
He means Lockdown Protocol.
Love watching you coach, and your team is super cool
7:00 the moment the opponent stole the jab tech cracked me
Every Saj Slam coach: Sooo Modern Honda? 👉👈🥺

If you teach him air grab, that first anti air air grab he lands will hit like crack.

Out of this whole event If i was a participant i would hope to get Dia as coach.
I think your team is pretty solid looking, good luck at the Slam
Legit I think you don't need to Baby Sykkuno just explain to him the concepts

The jab infinite is incredible lol
I think modern might be the play. Just for anti airs and easy supers

Is it just me or does Ryu target combo look like Jamie rekka? I'm ready for bro to start chugging
Suggesting DP as an AA for a classic newbie player is too much imho. Cammy has 2 great anti-air normals, it's more than enough.
He gief now
Have him spend his bar on ex moves if it’s full to deal a bit more dmg
Hey cousin I'm now subbed to you looking fo😅to more videos and hope you had a nice Labor day ❤

I mean if someone is losing to a worse player then they're making some very obvious mistakes they should fix

Wait, how did Ken do level 2 super with 0 bars?
At 6:18 ?
That's Diaphone rewinding like 10 seconds to when ken did the super

why is he playing classic if hes struggling with inputs and combos?
Modern please
Ask him to use modern 😂

Teach him modern
Idk why these streamers are allergic to playing modern. Like it's a quick way to doing the fun stuff
