- Join us on the Waterford Crystal Factory Tour in the wonderful town of Waterford Ireland. On this tour you will finally get your answer to: Waterford Crystal how is it made?
See Waterford Crystal artisans blow and craft this beautiful crystal. Prior to becoming Master Craftsman, candidates must endure a 5 year apprenticeship program. At the end of the program, the final test was creating a perfectly crafted "Waterford Crystal Apprentice Bowl".
While you can still tour the Waterford Crystal factory in Waterford, only very custom crystal is currently being manufactured here. After a series of mergers and acquisitions, Waterford Crystal is currently owned by the Fiskars Corporation. They currently own brands such as Waterford, Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, Royal Albert and Rogaška. Most consumer grade Waterford Crystal you will find in stores are manufactured in countries such as Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Germany.
Even so, the Waterford Crystal Factory Tour in Waterford Ireland still makes a pleasant stop and it is very interesting to see these Master Craftsman at work. We highly recommend stopping if you are in the Waterford Ireland area during your Irish vacation.

The Waterford Crystal tour is unique, interesting and very accessible. All the pieces are so beautiful and you get to see custom pieces that have been made for many different ocasión and people.

I have a waterford crystal razor and shaving brush beautiful craftsmanship I have them on display stand. Because of high Labour costs most of the Crystal is made in Slovenia still excellent quality

I have a small creamer and sugar and a lovely bowl (perhaps the lid is missing but it's great as it is) that I found for 75 cents (!) at a thrift store. Love Waterford!

house of waterford is still created and sold there BUT you have to be really careful in the sales shop because a LOT of that is made in Slovenia and brought in
