I have a 2022 blacked out s5. Totally worth the extra 10k. In my opinion the v6 is just enough but I couldn’t justify 25k more for the rs5. The s5 gets amazing gas mileage too when you drive it in normal mode. I would go as far as to say s5 is the best Audi model for the money. Q5 owners should also step up to it.

Awesome, Brian! The Turbo Blue is a great colour choice. The A5 really did surprise us with how responsive it actually was for a "base model" 4 cylinder.
Had the same dilemma. Had to come to terms with the fact that that my track days or SCCA autocross are behind me. I went with the A5 coupe (no kids). Still have 248hp, the comfort and the bonus of 35mpg on my commutes. Still have virtual cockpit, all the safety adds and that super comfortable interior. Using the money I saved to upgrade to the honeycomb grill and a set of winter wheels/tires. Taken some long road trips and the big tank with that mileage give me a range of well over 500mi. Fits my needs perfectly. I love the mileage, lower insurance and it's a sporty as I could realistically want. No regrets.
The A5 is still a ton of car, definitely don't feel like you're getting ripped off by not upgrading. I think you made a really great choice and seems to fit your current lifestyle perfectly. Enjoy my friend! 🙌
I have a 2018 a5 sportback with the apr stage 1 tune. It is almost s5 quick. Emphasis on almost. But I love my car. Plus, it's paid for. My next car is the newer RS7 so until I'm ready, I'm happy with what I have.
Hey do you guys know if the 19” A4 S-line wheels will fit on the S5? I’m thinking they will, but I’m just trying to help my buddy who is looking to get the 19” split 5 as winters for his S5. I found them on Craigslist for $800 with 30% rubber. That’s a damn good deal for OEM. Two of them are curbed but oh well they’re just winters and they can always be fixed.
The irresponsible side of me, who misses my old A8L, wants the V6. The practical, middle-aged mom side ... Excellent content, fantastic review; and good luck growing your page!

S5 is the best option in my opinion. Way better performance than the A5 models for $10,000 more ( feels like a completely different car ). And it being $25,000 cheaper than the RS5, you can just spend an extra $2-5,000 and stage 1 or 2 tune the car easily getting you up to if not surpassing RS5 power numbers.

We've spoken to the owner of this A5 and he said he doesn't really mind the bumps with the rims all that much. Obviously avoid them at all costs, but the suspension is quite comforting over those, all things considered.
The A5 was surprisingly, really fun and engaging. Not a bad swap by any means, but maybe get the S5 if you're coming from the SQ5! Thanks for watching!

Been debating between the A5 and S5 but ur videos made me lean a bit more towards the former. I just wish the A5 had the magma red interior option like the S5. With those sporty seats, takes it to a different level.
Great video, love the night shoot! I’m just upgrading from an A5 to an S5 and if the budget works I say do it! I loved the A5, still has lots of performance and the good looks of the Audi. But…take one drive with that Turbo V6 in the S5 and you’ll never be able to go back!!
The kick sensor works best when you do a straight kick in and pull out inline with the left side of the license plate. You don’t have to actually touch the car, just get your foot far enough under the car, and come straight back out

A5 is lighter though and if I can get like 100hp more out of it technically an a5 would be better. But I don’t want to mess with the warranty I just want to do sound mods like an intake and exhaust. But yea kinda wishing for an s5 or rs5.

The Audi will probably get fully redesigned here in the next year or two, so just make sure if you pick the Audi you really love the design so you don't get fomo when the new gen comes out lol. I have a 2023 S5 Sportback Prestige. Is it worth it over the A5? Only if you are a car guy. 90% of the time you won’t use the extra power and torque. Otherwise, you can spec the A5 to look (almost) as nice as the S5, and save yourself the money. Mine is not “blacked out”; I prefer the classic chrome look (and I remember the days when chrome was actually an upgrade over black 😂).
The only difference in exterior looks is the quad exhaust and the rims. Otherwise exact same body in every way. I want to get a carbon fiber rear bumper but it’s like 900$💀

I think people get too stuck on the A5 vs S5 comparison and I completely understand why…. BUUUUUUT if people framed the A5 into the context that it’s basically like a Golf R that’s a little heavier with ACTUAL RWD bias QUATTRO as opposed to the FWD bias Haldex. Then they’re a really really good deal considering a used mk7 golf R pushes $35k+ and you can get a comparable mileage A5 with much nicer everything.
I haven't seen an A5, even on Audi"s website that has those rims, much less a 20 inch wheel of any type. My 2019 has the optional S Line 19s. Any thoughts?
Hey Mark, I see them on Audi's build configurator when I go to spec out a 2023 A5 Sportback. They're not available on the Komfort trim, only Progressiv or higher. I hope this helps!
We haven't driven the Type R but for what it's worth the 0-60 time is exactly the same at 5 seconds. So, you can say it's pretty comparable. The A5 was honestly no slouch (45 variant). The Type R might just be better tuned with suspension.
never a non s model, i had an a3 and thought 2.0t with a tune was great until i got an s4 and now own an rs5 sportback, the s4 was way more reliable than the a3 and a lot faster

Audi's have horrible resale value, especially once the warranty period ends. I have a Prestige trim model S5 but if I were to do it again, I'd buy the most basic A4.

Well an a3 is a lot slower than an a5 45. Basically more than a second 0-60. But yes an rs5 is definitely the best.

Because they are overpriced when new, so depreciation tanks them quick. This is true for all luxury cars. Buy them 1-2 years old and save 10-15k
