      Get one, they're not rare, and cheap for a classic car! You just gotta be a reasonably skilled, patient mechanic with a decent tool set (NOT metric!). Old is old after all; any classic needs constant care and feeding. #1 enemy is RUST. But online support, parts supplies, and brotherhood are incredible with these cars. I love my '72 B/GT to bits

      Had one before he was in a very good condition inside out and always put in a garage on winter! I sold it 2.5x more than I pay for and the meter came back to zéro! 🤣 It was fast powerful and fun to drive...years later I am driving à miata!😁

    This is the car I learned to drive in and my first car in high school. I remember it well. Had a small trunk that was just enough space to fit the toolbox that was required to drive it anywhere around town, but still loved it. Emerald green and temperamental.

    My dad had one of these and listening to one again brought back so many childhood memories.

    It's such a fun car to drive. I fell in love, the first time I drove it. I want to buy one, badly. But I'm not a mechanic, and I know these cars require constant maintenance.

      You can learn it though if you are willing to put in the time. I started with virtually no knowledge of cars or restoration before working on my project Fiero, had been sitting for 23 years and wasn't even running, but I managed to get it running and driving again just recently. If you are willing to shop around and do the job right, costs should not be so much of an issue as well. You have to truly love working on your car and especially the car itself though.

      owned mine since April 2020, have put well over 2/3000 miles on it in that time frame (including a 1500) mile road trip, other than frequent oil checks and preventative maintenance such as replacing a shoddy radiator it has never broken down on me nor have I needed it to be put in for expensive and long term repairs! treat them well and they will treat you well.

    Despite the amount of maintenance and little oil messages, miss owning an MGB.

      Wish I knew. Sounds similar to mine, but slightly quieter. Mine's a Tourist Trophy Stainless Steel. This also sounds larger and throatier than stock. Perhaps a Bell Stainless Steel???

      the MGB motor has a very long stroke, result is gobs of low end torque and a deep throaty sound, no Asian fart can noises from these!

  • @Merkkc

    The exhaust doesn't sound stock (if it is ignore this), if anyone knows what it is, please say

    • @GrooveAddix
      @GrooveAddix 4 года назад +1

      It is stock but they clearly removed the front resonator/muffler (which when installed takes away the low growl). They just welded a straight pipe back to the rear muffler.

    The second driver (1:13 onwards) could use some lessons on how to downshift going into the corners. At 3:40 he brakes going into the corner, slowing to 20mph then shifts into third coming out. He did this on all the corners......bad for clutch and the engine. Should have let the lady drive.

  • @pikachupowers

      @stephenoverstreet9898 8 лет назад

      Nah. Synchros in all 4 gears in the later ones. Even the early ones had synchros in 2-4. No double-clutching necessary.
