Alyssa, you could go to Lawson's wedding by yourself. I think you should for the long term impact on your relationship with him. Make sure he (and Tiffany) knows you are willing to prioritize him (like you did Nathan and Katie and I love you day - maybe with different limits but still a priority).
Kids thrive on structure and you provide it.... saying that it doesn’t mean you need perfection. Also may you can just get away for your brothers wedding(flying) and leave the kiddos home. It would save on cost and stress. If you say no to this trip you may regret it and second guess any trip in the upcoming months because you didn’t have the funds for the California trip. You NEED to go to the wedding. John and/or his parents and other family members could watch the girls. One plane ticket won’t be so expensive and your parents always rent a AIR BnB or such. You could stay with them. It will take some planning but all your trips are lots of planning and etc. just DON’T miss your brothers wedding.
Those aren't always options. We went to buy a ticket that normally costs us around $200 and it was over $1000. Tickets are insane right now. Johns family might not be able to watch the kids, and John might not have the time off work to watch the kids. So many logistics and I'm sure if it were possible, she'd have already planned it. All these comments telling her not to miss the wedding probably aren't helping.
They don’t actually NEED to do anything that doesn’t work for them. I’m pretty sure her brother will know that she still loves him. Aside from all of that.. we ARE still in a pandemic and I’m pretty sure that wedding will be filmed, if not live streamed.

We did a destination wedding in Gatlinburg at Christmas time and most of our siblings didn't come. Don't let others sway your decision for not going. I don't have any negative feelings towards those who didn't come. They'll appreciate you thinking and praying for them. Appreciate you guys being real. I truly believe everyone who can foster/adopt- should! I don’t think it’s a question of should you but can you and will you. Our square footage of our home and layout mean we are not legally allowed to foster or adopt from the state. Praying for a chance to move and opportunities to help those who do.
Roaches is my biggest fear too!! 🤣🤣 And also MICE! Lol That would have freaked me out so much having a mouse crawl behind me and land next to me! 😱 Our previous home that we rented had a bad roach and mouse problem and it was so freaky! Lol They were always getting into stuff, etc. Thankfully God led us to a beautiful home that we now own that does not have those problems. 👏🎉 That’s interesting about the learning to communicate better before marriage thing...we fought a ton too after we got married. And it was always little stupid things. Lol We did talk a lot before we got married but we did mostly had chaperones so talking in person was a lot harder. I think we didn’t practice communicating as well before getting married as we should have. It’s a lot better now but still a work in progress. 😅
So happy to see happy families! It really makes my day! I had a wonderful time raising my kids with a sweet hubby but they are grown and my sons have wives of their own. It fills a hole of that sweet family time that seemed so stressful at times but really are the best years of a persons life in my opinion.

Not everyone likes leaving their kids for any amount of time let alone overnight even with trusted family members such as John’s parents or siblings if they’d be willing to keep them.

You all capture some things differently (like for Nathan's wedding you captured things I didn't see in Carlin's or Nathan's video and vice versa). However, understood if you cannot go - just would have been nice to see each view. As the kids grow up bedtime changes. It’s rough sometimes because with kids 6, 8, 10, and 13 they stay up later now like 8/8:30pm is typical and they still wake up 6:30/7am. My husband often has to be up between 3:30-4:30am so he goes to bed right after the kids.

I'm tired of people getting mad at others for having their house clean and their kids looking presentable my mom never let the house get messy or let us go about in our PJs past 8am because she never wanted to have an emergency to have to run out the door and not be ready to get up and go also she was just a very productive woman which is how I and my brothers are now today as adults
But you can still get up and go in PJ's and a messy house. If that's how they like their house that's great. But for a lot of people it's just a struggle and no one should be shamed if their kids are in PJ's past 8 am or their house is messy (and I'm not talking about dirty).

I really hope you consider at least going on your own to Lawson’s wedding, Alyssa. I’m sure you’re already thinking a lot about this, but it could really impact your relationship with him and Tiffany long-term if you don’t go. I may have skipped I Love You Day if that would mean I could go to my sibling’s wedding. This is coming from someone who has seen how not being there for family during the most important times in their lives can really hurt. It would at least be nice if Lawson and Tiffany could allow you to attend via livestream or Zoom or if your family could do their a celebration in Tennessee for those who couldn’t make it to the wedding in California. But, if neither of those are the case, I would consider making an effort to go on my own to show my love and support for them if he was my brother. You don’t get another chance to do this.
So sad that you don't think you will be able to go to Lawson's wedding although I completely get it and your reasons make sense. I will be praying something works out that maybe Alyssa can go at the very least so you don't look back and have regrets but I am sure Lawson and Tiffany will understand if you can't.

I'm tired of people getting mad at others for having their house clean and their kids looking presentable my mom never let the house get messy or let us go about in our PJs past 8am because she never wanted to have an emergency to have to run out the door and not be ready to get up and go also she was just a very productive woman which is how I and my brothers are now today as adults
But you can still get up and go in PJ's and a messy house. If that's how they like their house that's great. But for a lot of people it's just a struggle and no one should be shamed if their kids are in PJ's past 8 am or their house is messy (and I'm not talking about dirty).
@@crystalsnow1138 I'm not saying it's not possible I'm just saying how people want to call her fake for always keeping a neat and tidy house granted it isn't always gonna be like that but people want to act like some of us don't have our houses and ourselves put together for the day and theirs no shame in having a messy house either or if you stay in your PJs all day that's fine as well I just get annoyed that some people think everyone is the same and that others are unrealistic is all
Would you ever consider sending to kids to school vs homeschool? It looks like you have a great setup for the girls and schooling but I was just curious as to the reason for homeschool vs public school?
Because the schools are so corrupted teaching kids to chose their genders and other garbage similar to it

I really hope you consider at least going on your own to Lawson’s wedding, Alyssa. I’m sure you’re already thinking a lot about this, but it could really impact your relationship with him and Tiffany long-term if you don’t go. I may have skipped I Love You Day if that would mean I could go to my sibling’s wedding. This is coming from someone who has seen how not being there for family during the most important times in their lives can really hurt. It would at least be nice if Lawson and Tiffany could allow you to attend via livestream or Zoom or if your family could do their a celebration in Tennessee for those who couldn’t make it to the wedding in California. But, if neither of those are the case, I would consider making an effort to go on my own to show my love and support for them if he was my brother. You don’t get another chance to do this.

Couldn’t agree more. Anytime I’m feeling down or discouraged i will somehow come across their sermons and it never fails to lift me up in the best way. I wish I could find a church like that. Just real, no influencer style preacher in a leather jacket and 2k$ sneakers. Just the word of God, family, joy and good old life lessons and rich wisdom.
