  • I don't care about ladders in my ships but other people seem to hate them so I tried my hand at a no ladder ship build. The resulting ship is not bad.

The inside is awesome, it's funny I've been playing the game since day one and as I learned the ship building my ships got bigger and bigger, but of late they seem to be getting smaller and smaller. That ship is no doubt huge :) . And it has 95 mobility and a poop load of cargo., that's awesome.

Nice build! I like the way you put the docking bay and landing bay side to side. I would put a cargo hold as the connecting room to these two. Would make sense to have the cargo hold as near as possible to the two entryways of the ship.

It would make sense if they allowed a ship to have multiple entrances. Then one arm could be a cargo entrance directly into cargo bay, and one could be passenger like this one. The game doesn't allow that so I have to pick one or the other. For gameplay purposes it is more convenient to have crafting and bed right at the door. If a future update were to allow multiple entrances, there are several of my designs that I could improve.

I built this, I wanted to use as many Nova Galactic Habs as I could for the retro nasa-punk look. I may go back and swap out the non NG Habs for Taiyo Habs just to keep the rounded theme going. But I got to 12k cargo, 130 speed, 1600? Hull, and still got 78 mobility. I call mine "Fisher" who if you live in Maine, know are mean little demon polecats.

The Nova Habs are definitely the best. Too bad the other manufacturers can't come up with more than one or two good interior designs.

    What about a UC Spacebus/APV/IPV ?

What hab is the one with the pool table? What rank of starship design do you need for it.

That is the Nova Galactic 2x2 Living Quarters. You can get it from the ship technician at New Homestead on Titan. I don't think there are any level, perk, or other requirements for access to it.

Sir, what engines are you using?

The SAL-6830 engines Stroud Eklund gets access to after making a deal with Slayton in the quest All That Money Can Buy

That seems to be the common knowledge, finishing it 'in the most diplomatic way' but someone just proved it wrong, they also got access to those engines after killing Slayton.

@@DerEchteBold I saw that Major Slack showed that it is currently possible to get the engines even after killing Slayton. I can only say that either that was changed by a recent patch or there is something else at play, because when I killed Slayton I could not get access to the engines. I did exactly what Slack did and the engines were NOT there. It was a few patches ago that I last did a playthrough where I killed Slayton, but I know for certain that I did not have access to the engines in that playthrough. It really bothered me at the time.

      AH, interesting, thank you!
I suspected that there could be some other hidden reason, it's always dangerous to assume things just because they might be obvious in this type of game.
I would never just try to kill him anyways but it's still good to know!
