Politicians used to compromise, but now due to the way campaign finances allow for limitless money, compromise is not as profitable as much as chaos. We deserve this as a country for letting the 2 party system rip us apart. The reward for compromise is getting "primaried" for making a fair deal.
Each party dehumanizes each other, so now we have families torn apart all for a few extra dollars in the campaign coffers. The candidates represent themselves and not the voters.
We allow flat out corruption like with Clarence Thomas & Bob Menendez because it allows them to blame anyone but themselves. This country is doomed and we have people cheering for it because of partisanship.
