    sometimes it happens that when finishing tracking, surface planner doesn't fit precisely or moves away from exact point. so, you can go to the "AdjustTrack" bar (do as at 7:12 in this video & see bottom left to find AdjustTrack ), when go to AdjustTrack you will find the four corner pins turned red corner pin. now move these red corner pins wherever you want precisely and when you move these corner pins they will add their keyframe and you can precisely fit your logo, text whatever.

      @@ECAbrams Thanks for considering another video.
      FWIW, i find AE's point tracker is only reliable under ideal conditions. Mocha's planar tracker always works when there is a plane surface to track.
      Something I struggle with is when the plane extends beyond the screen. Is there a technique to "extend" Mocha's tracking when this happens?

    First of all, LOVE your tutorials so much! Thanks for the years of creative information! I’m having a lot of trouble trying to track a record after I drop it. I basically enter the frame holding a white record jacket and then drop it about 3 inches to a chromakey green table top. Every time I drop it goes wonky! Is there a way to correct it as it goes along? If I make corrections it seems to throw off everything prior.

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams  3 года назад

      Interesting. Is there significant motion blur in the footage? Or perhaps a lack of texture in the subject?

    • @Fredo_Viola
      @Fredo_Viola 3 года назад

      No, actually I shot with a very fast frame rate to ensure less motion blur. I just had a chat with a designer friend who believes it’s due to the fact that the record is white, and you can see the shadows of my hands on the cover. His suggestion was fir me to reshoot with a pattern, rather than blank white. Do you think that could be the problem?

    • @Fredo_Viola
      @Fredo_Viola 3 года назад

      Oh, and FYI, it’s 4K footage shot with my Sony A7Siii, transcoded first into 422hq, but then I tried h264 as well.. same outcome.

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams  3 года назад +1

      @@Fredo_Viola The issue is always texture. So, if it's h264, 422, lossless, whatever, it doesn't substantively change the content. Mocha needs patches of predictable texture to attach to. So if the record is effectively textureless, or the only dominant feature on it is your hand or shadows caused by your hand, which will move in relation to the actual thing you want to track, those should be removed from the calculation.
      You might try actually excluding those things with masks to see if you can get mocha to only consider the record surface that is unchanged. A little like how we want to remove foreground occlusions when tracking background objects.

    • @Fredo_Viola
      @Fredo_Viola 3 года назад

      I tried including the shadows and it didn’t make a difference, so I just drew many crossed lines along the top third of the album, where the hand shadows aren’t showing up, and reshot. Would that be enough if a pattern for Mocha to latch into?

    Tip for you. In case you don't know! For roto this type of situation you need to link your Roto track layer.. to get better roto without tracking frame by frame. What I mean by that you already tracked a finger shape to tell mocha not to track this area. Well you can use that track to drive your Roto shape as well..

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams  5 лет назад

      It's a great tip. I usually use that method in my roto work. In this case, my garbage matte on the finger needed more manual tweaking when the finger deformed in certain spots so the track wouldn't have been super accurate for locking on to. But, we'll definitely get into all that in a later tutorial.

    • @Gireshahid33
      @Gireshahid33 5 лет назад

      @@ECAbrams sometimes you need to single track method but most of the time the link to track method give you the General motion.
      When I try to roto something in mocha I always first do a link to track method.. than the Other single track as we all know.. 😀

    can you still use mocha without square shape presence? like curvature or just want to track certain point like finger point for example

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams  5 лет назад

      you can make splines of any shape. Geometric. Organic. Anything. But it's not really for points. It tracks areas and textures in patches. So if you have a point you want to track you would need to draw a spine patch that encompasses that point. That's the main difference between point and planar tracking.

    Quick question, if I got a multi objects that I need to track in one video, do I need to keep duplicate the footage with the mocha effects or I can just duplicate the effect on the same video???

    • @ECAbrams

      I would just make multiple tracks inside mocha and push the date to multiple nulls or mattes in Ae.

      I'll have to find the time to fix the website. I can't promise it'll be any time soon though.

      Now, this is a celebrity sound-a-like I am in to. Usually, people think I'm Candian stoner, Seth Rogan. I will gladly take a Jeff Goldblum comparison any day.

    I do exactly the same thing and with the first click on the tracking button I get an error that says the layer was terminated and the layers weren't tracked properly. Ive never used this before but I don't know what to do

    • @ECAbrams

      Sounds like something is off about your footage. What exactly are you tracking?

      @@ECAbrams I did a project where I redesigned US currency, so I am trying to show an exchange of bills. I downloaded free footage. it was a pretty simple movement

    I need to set the size of the screen replacement the real size of the screen? like it is a MacBook pro 13 inches screen need to know the sizes?

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams  2 года назад

      Having the right Ratio, is more important than the right size. If you're replacing a 16:9 screen but you create a 4:3 comp to go in there, using something like a 4 corner pin effect to fit the fake graphic in is going to get stretched out results.

      @@ECAbrams cool im doing the tracking but the angle of the perspective change and my shot is super simple i dont know how to fix that, i wish i can show you :(

    I applied the tracking data to 1 layer and it worked perfectly but the other one not... It's coming in a different angle.. How can I fix this?

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams  3 года назад

      I would apply the data to a null and parent the target layer to that null so you can manipulate the target independent of the data.
