  • The world's biggest jet engine isn't the General Electric GE9X, but it's a close contender. The true title goes to the Rolls-Royce Ultrafan, which is still in its testing phase. Rolls-Royce has pushed it to full power, hinting at its potential impact on aviation. This massive engine represents the future of air travel.

I hope it is well tested before it goes into production. We have three Boeing 787 parked up waiting for RR Trent engine overhauls that they cannot supply parts for. Very difficult for an airline.

The B52 has gone to Rolls Royce now because it makes the best and more reliable engine

variable pitch fan blades sound complicated. Not sure if this has been done before.

Will this Ultra fan have the same maintenance issues that the Trent has on the A-350? A much larger down time for the airlines the other engines in its class.

What's up with that image of a cheesy diesel truck engine? @2:14 & later in the video?
BTW There's no such thing as a unreliable and inefficient modern day Jet Engine!
