I use the MDA Psedu-Stereo often. Usually on spoken word just to make it a bit wider and more interesting, not so much straight up the middle.
I like the hidden gems series you are putting out. Good job!

I'm kinda curious to try it on acoustic guitar. Guess I need to find one to record, as I have never tried at all 😬

If thats a worship service, I'll start going back to church and join the choir :)
I have a big box of mono recordings, experiments and jams on cassette, I might give them some new life with this plugin. I am watching the mixer master bars and its obviously creating a stereo effect
I am confused regarding double tracking, my interpretation is playing the same instrument with the very same part, matching it as best possible, in a different environment, embelishments allowed and accepted or not, just another take. With keyboards or piano, Ill multiply tracks as many takes to thicken up a sound but then I have to choose a particular stereo field to put them in
Tnx Myk, Kenny Goia has been covering certain aspects of double tracking and taps in Reaper, and tools I havent explored much. Great information of late regarding Reaper

Very cool hidden gem! Fabfilter made a series of videos on this topic ("How to mix in stereo without sucking in mono"), there are very cool techniques to create pseudo stereo, just make sure to check how it sounds when listening to the mix back in mono :)

Interesting. I would suggest one might want to play with/adjust/check in mono, yes? May sa will find out right away if JT soudns goofy.

Gotta try that. A Haas plugin I found is neat but does funny things when collapsed to mono.

i don't claim to understand any of this from a scientific perspective, but in my testing on the project used in the video, the comb filter side sounded much better to me, whereas when i moved the slider towards the haas side, it didn't seem like it did anything. May need to test it further on some other material.

@@LetsTalkAboutReaper "Quick Haas" plug I found surely does things - it makes a track kinda sound both panned and centered at the same time, it's pretty wild.

Yo Myk, you should do a video like this again with the Ozone Imager 2. It's a free stereo widening plug in

Before watching, I am guessing this is something using early reflections and trickery.. maybe I am wrong tho.. watching now. Ohhh haas effect.. makes sense

im listening and can't tell any difference. then I noticed. I'm listening on my mono Bose Soundlink Mini connected to my laptop
Very interesting. I'll check this out later in the studio. Great drum track

It's VERY subtle when used in small doses but at the same time kinda noticable. Granted it can also make things worse when used wrong 😂

You should put out some of your drumloops. They`re great. Me like👌

This plugin adds distortion to the sound. This is especially audible at high frequencies. I strongly advise against using it.

Guess I've not experienced that, but I'm curious to try with more stuff now to test.

I just used this yesterday for the first time on a single mic amp recording of fingerstyle electric guitar. The stereo spread sounds great, but know I'm getting some low end distortion that isn't there when I bypass it. Any suggestions? @@LetsTalkAboutReaper
