To hypixels defense, before they released cookies there was a huge IRL trading market with lots of top nw players being involved or profiting from it. Hypixel himself stated that the irl market might make more money than hypixel does with sb, which made up 60-80% of active players back then. So they basically just followed the good old "if you cant beat them, join them" rule
it seems like they "joined them", but then people realize that if there's a legit way to buy coins, then there's no reason to buy coins from questionable sources, so they're also "beating them" and also players can contribute to "improve the server", but the crimson isle is still laggy right now, especially when someone builds up a massive pile of lava sea creatures to kill them later

I've been casually playing it since release, sometimes doing small grinds here and there, and I still have tons of things I could choose to do. This stuff sounds like a skill issue. Not in the _low_ skill end, but in the _high_ skill end. SkyBlock will also still exist in 2 years for sure because Hypixel still has tons of other dead games still available.

This is one of the worst takes In a Long time. The admins have done nothing but delivering great updates for the past year. Many People are still enjoying the game, there Will always be people quitting in every game. Its a humane thing to do, people move on in life. I would not call skyblock p2w since you are not rly galning an advantages over another player. Even if the admins dident add gems into the game people would just go elsewhere to buy coins incouraging ratting and macroing to obtain the coins. Simply because you are moving on and have played the contebt doesent make it a dying or bad game. Many people still enjoy it. I know it has some issues like every other game, but there is still so many good things about it too. Its kind of harsh calling it dying because you are moving on.
What we need is more endgame builds and more interconnected skills. Endgame for any skill usually only points to like one set of items with combat having slightly more. Most skills don't funnel into each other like they funnel into combat and I think it'd make the game a lot more fun if they did. Like imagine if in the teased fishing island update we got new crops and new gemstones(maybe even a new tree??) to work with like kelp and aquamarine that could help the fishing skill in someway(not to mention that they have talked about fishing being tied to alchemy later). Once all the skills all have gotten their reworks that they really should focus on interconnecting them to make progression in them feel less like a one way road.
Compared to many other mmos hypixel has done a pretty good job. P2W in skyblock is a literal joke unlike in other mmos where people who don't do it are thought to be lesser. Inflation is quite literally unavoidable when to give the power to create money to everyone. All the people I know that have quit due to boredom for the most part took the game to seriously, the cause for this boredom is a lack of proper mindset. Whenever a grind gets boring I swap to something fun and overall don't force myself to do grinds if I don't want to. The main issue currently is a skill cap where grinding skyblock levels become extrordinarily hard as one approaches 400 while gear can always be maxed more with noticeable return considering money is basically free. I really don't see skyblock dying in the near future. The new updates while not the best are showing amazing promise and it is now super easy to get into skyblock as a new player due to the rift.
In my opinion, if Hypixel stays active and does events like Dante it will bring back Skyblock. Skyblock just isn't fun when there aren't events that you can look forward too. The Dante event with Technoblade brought back so many players, so now imagine if we had an event similar to that once every year, maybe just a boss where everyone can participate. Another thing why Skyblock was popular and peaked in 2020-2021 was because everything was fun and new. If Hypixel were to announce a mystery event happening in a couple weeks imagine the player base coming back for the event. Also maybe they can add a story of Hypixel Lore like stuff about Barry the ideas are limitless.

@@andreasbmcc1805 Yeah skyblock is better described as pay to progress rather than pay to win, there's no end goal so there is no winning, It's single player with extra steps so you choose whether you need to pay or not, this acts very differently to something like clash royale, where you are at a clear disadvantage if you don't pay. Furthermore, I don't think I've ever seen someone actually rich because they bought cookies, seems to me that anyone with that much money to throw at skyblock just buys accounts or irl trades, but I'm sure there's a few.
although a lot of "big" youtubers are quiting it keeps the 20000 concurrent players at all times. Even if the admins arent "updating the game" which is just not true there are more and more new players starting to play every day. and yes it can be boring for the endgame players but that is just because they have already dont everything there is to do. Whenever there is an update a lot of players come back even if not for a long time. They do need to think about releasing way less content on alpha because it doesnt make new updates interesting since everyone already knows what its gonna be. However if they up the boundries of their servers, more real time live events will be their saviour.
Imma be honest, I think skyblock was perfect until dungeons were added and the power creep started growing to its current state with updates that are only looking to please the endgame players, like have you tried playing on a fresh profile, its incredibly more harsh in comparison to how it was long ago, I remember manually grinding for my tools, getting lapis then miner armor, building a spider and skeleton farm to get runaans bow and grappling hook, manually mining diamonds and killing pigs to get the pigman sword and perfect armor, slowly saving up for dragon armor, it felt genuinely rewarding to get those at the time, like you just made a major breakthrough, now that magic is gone, its all dungeon stuff that matters now and it feels kinda hollow Also I believe 1.0 will be a hard reset for everyone

I want to say that someone who just started about a month ago and almost has mining and combat level 25 there’s still so much to do… as a new player at first it was overwhelming with the amount of stuff to do and de motivating because there’s so much to catch up on… as a dev I could see how u wouldn’t want to make a game too overwhelming for new players ie slayer quests, pets, catacombs, mining, hexing, tallisman’s crystal hollows and so forth it’s just a lot to comprehend for new players and they don’t want to continually add more and make things more complicated for new players… they make their money from newer players… once u have rank your not really spending a lot of money unless it’s gems that need continus new players so they can sell those new ranks and support the server
They are terrible at balancing tho. Berserker and healer need some update and buff. Stop nerfing things, start buffing or inventing newer items. Its stupid for someone to buy something for 100m(idk if there was such item) and then its nerfed to the ground, making item lose so much of its value. Its not a PvP game, only classes should feel equal. Of course if things get to extreme they need a nerf, but that should be rare.

No Hypixel Skyblock won't die in the next 2 years, yes it's popularity has gone down but that is mostly due to life going back to "normal". When the pandemic hit everyone was locked inside so they had more time to play video games, which lead to a huge increase in player count. But the pandemic is over and people and especially students are going back to normal school. Also Hypixel Skyblock still has between 30-55k players daily, yes i know that it is not nearly as much as they had in 2020 and 2021 but that is because times change, it is still extreamly popular and not "almost dead". Yes the admins don't always make the best decisions but making a working game is not so easy especially as they are working on a very old version of the game. And lastly as long as there are youtubers like Thirtyvirus, Refraction, SwavyL and all the up and coming skyblock youtubers the game won't die. So just because you don't play or like the game and have moved on to other things in your life (which is compleatly ok, most people do it at some point anyway) doesen't mean that other people can't enjoy it or that the game is "dying". Yes i know that you are entiteld to your own opinion and i am not trying to undermine that (even though it might sound like it), but i just want you to look at the "bigger picture", and look at both the bad and good sieds of the game. I started playing skyblock today... And for it to get boring for me (I not a super-grinder) it needs to pass idk how many years, and also there's always new players like me (I've seen a lot of lvl0 accounts in the chat clueless what to do) so I don't think it will die in 2 years, it will die with hypixel itself
They could also give just a small gap for automation, i desinged 3 iterations of a farm for the garden, desing 1 failed due to no redstone updates, desing 2 to no minecarts, desing 3 which is horrible failed to looking down automatically after falling into the void. Those admins already let me quit twice and the next quit might be permanant.

The biggest issue that I find in sky lock is their team of devs and admins are not professional mmorpg game makers. Hypixel skyblock was able to sustain itself via it’s simple system when launched, and overtime gets flooded by different updates and game modes that made the system so complex it will become impossible to play in the future if they continue like this, there are too many things to be grinding in and there are too many issues that they have to deal with. The absolute best solution is to start developing on a new game and have a system similar to hoyoverse games, as it is much easier to be sustained overtime
What Hypixel skyblock was trying to do is to achieve better than wynncraft, in a result, they had the same problem as wynncraft, but in comparison, wynncraft is much more easily managed rather than skyblock due to it’s vast player base, leading to societal errors being demonstrated in their game systems
i think the main problem is that hypixel skyblock losts it's value to its name, it isn't even skyblock anymore. The game will never die because of the undying loyal fan base and the legacy of technoblade and the youtubers. But i think the youtubers are carrying hypixel skyblock

What we really need is for the admins to DO THEIRJOB. Listen. Do you go to the police when someone steals your stuff, and they tell you off because that was your responsibility to keep your stuff safe? NO. That is not how it is supposed to work. The admins should actually help people who get hacked when they have proof that they aren't using a profile rollback to cheat and etc. The admins need to do their jobs as administrators instead of over-glorified people who own the damn server.
as you talked about in the video about the discord scammers i was fool to a trap and lost my 4 years account to it lost everything that I had plus my profile grind (skills) it made me quit for about a half a year but now I came back maybe tried to do things better but if hypixel skyblock is dying I guess theres no point for it the end game things that I had was boring but still 4 years of grind went to trash cuz 1 link
Crystal hollows requires over 100m to have a concerning amount of inflation, which locks most players out of it. Farming however has a cheap setup which means there are so many more players doing it thus making the inflation problem way worse
To counter some points of this video. 1. Although theres a claim for “pay-to-win”, grinding is still necessary to unlock most items. You need to do your daily enchanting experiments to get high enough enchantment levels to use higher tier enchants, combat for armor and weapons, including slayers, dungeons, and bestiary. And even with current inflated cookie prices, $5 can only get you 14m as of now, and that doesnt even come close for items such as hyperion or terminator. As well as the data you mentioned could be most likely flawed, as you know, 2020, COVID? And most of the ranks are a lifetime purchase, with most not feeling the need to upgrade at all, causing the income to go down. And as you mentioned, its much better to introduce a “legit” way to get coins to combat IRL Trading. 2. While yes, the garden and mining are huge contributors to inflation, you fail to mention sources of coin sinks. Stuff such as taxes on bz and ah, dungeons, dark and darker auctions, and slayers. 3. The admins are focusing on updates, its just that bigger updates require more time to develop, bug fix, and release. Item nerfs happen more often simply because its faster than making an entire update. And items have to get nerfed, its required to keep the game balance healthy. 4. Whether or not skyblock is boring is entirely subjective, if you want to stop playing, just stop. And thats the end of my opinion on the matters mentioned.
My main thing with it is I got carries early on, now I have little to no way to catch up. It’s now a choice between start over and transfer stuff (and use it when ready) and just quitting.
I will say, if their team can release more things similar to the Rift it could save the game. The Rift was a very creative update and added alot of new progression to the game

Started skyblock again after 3 years, and realized how empty the servers are now. Back in time it was so hard to kill animals to make your first minions because of the amount of new players(and those blasting arrow mfs). It feels like a ghost town, and I don't know if it is a good idea to continue.
It’s a ghost town because everyone has moved on. There aren’t enough new players for animals to be competitive, but maybe try zealots, you’ll think the game is full to bursting if you see that.
for me each starting with the bazzar update made the game worse, i quit shortly after dungeons were released, quitting skyblock is one of the best things ive ever done. wynncraft is so much better in every way
hypixel's fanbase peeked in 2020 when the pandemic hit but now that things are back to normal the player base has gone down because people are able to get back to their normal lives it is not Dying it is just the fact that people are back to their normal lives and some their life is hypixel they have made a name for themselves streaming and making contend so in conclusion no its not dying it is simply going back to how it was before
New players are a good thing and well it’s bad to lose players especially old players, there not expected to stay forever. Old players are more loyal, like a friend willing to spend money for you, new ones don’t and even worse there way more less likely to stay. It doesn’t help that the grind is so painfully long that new player don’t feel like spending years to get somewhat end game in the game. It’s to donning for even me.

One of the reasons the player count has decreased is because minecraft's popularity decreased, but as long as there are 20+ thousand players online skyblock will stay alive. You have to remember that for a game inside a server inside of a game these numbers are very impressive. (and this guy is saying the game is boring which is only his opinion and its stupid to make a whole video about you getting bored of a game... i just came back after not playing in months and this game is still amazing)

I recently got hooked on skyblock, and am currently enjoying learning how to grind, progress and have fun playing the game so it's maybe a bit disconcerting to hear that the trend is going downwards. But on a separate note, I noticed that in the editing, it sounded like you cut off your own sentences in too early, and cut them off too soon, strengthening the illusion that you were reading a prepared script. Just some feedback, as it sounded a bit unnatural.

This aged really poorly lol. From everything I've seen. It just seems like the playerbase is stabilizing. Of course it's not going to every get back to the heights of when techno was promoting them. It's silly to gauge metrics off of that. A consistent 50-60k playerbase with 90-100k peaks is not even in the conversation of dying. This whole thing reminds me of when everyone was saying Wynncraft was dying. When it was really just stabilizing. Different scales but same thing. The only youtubers that I know of that quit were rumored to being RMTers. So they were mad when they added to cookies to combat RMTing. The youtube space for Skyblock is actually pretty strong. Lots of mid to large size youtubers
I just play vanilla skyblock. Not on a server or anything, just my own world. That's what I have been doing for years, ever since skyblock 2.1. I never really got hypixel skyblock. It felt super cheaty to me and I just preferred the vanilla experience.
The game won’t be dead in 2 years. Sure it may not have the same player count but hypixel it self is the biggest Minecraft server. It’s the center of Java multiplayer. No matter if skyblock isn’t updated at all for a year, people will still play. It’s like smaller servers like the archon or mana cube. They still have existing communities even though their servers are 100x smaller and have been around since like 2014. Of course, end game players are not going to play because that’s what they are, end game. You beat the game and if you’re going to spend 200 hours a week playing on a server you shouldn’t expect to have all the fun in the world. Adding new updates won’t help the player base much because the game already has a lot for new players. Think about it. There was like 100,000 people on hypizel at one point, when the game wasn’t developed as much. Now you get all these new items and content and there’s even less people. But you can’t say it’s just the updates Is what drives people, it’s the creators. Techno blade brought out a large part of the player base when the game started, including me. We don’t see any other big RUclipsrs like dantdm anymore. It’s not just skyblock, it’s Minecraft. Overall point is that it’s not just the updates, and the game won’t be dead because you already have updates that kept people playing for a reason.

Nothing hypixel does is against TOS as their servers run on an older version where it wasn't disallowed to have pay to win aspects. They have also gotten a pass for selling booster cookies and selling skins / cosmetics is even allowed in current TOS
The TOS isn’t a good analogy as basically every server breaks it by not catering to 10 year olds and by having plugins with guns and Mojang doesn’t punish those servers for it
Great video, glad someone adressed some concerns that I personally shared as well. Skyblock just isn't "fun" to play anymore. It just feels like an endless grind and grind and grind again, over and over again. There needs to be more unique and fun mechanics implemented to save the game.
Let’s be real how much new and “unique” content can you add to a skyblock server before it isn’t “fun” it’s up to the player to continue making it fun. This is why cod still exists. The thing I dislike most about video's stating how skyblock/hypixel is dying, and why it's dying, never go indepth into their suggestions into ways to make it better, more enjoyable and overall a better experience. I understand the commentry side where you are only supposed to talk about what is happened, but when you bring up the idea that "it can still be saved", explain how, offer suggestions on improvements that can be made, instead of vaguely saying that they just need to make it more "fun". How are they supposed to do that when you don't offer suggestions on the issues that are happening. It is a fundamental issue with playerbases for games, where players complain about the gameplay and the way things are heading, without providing creative, fun ideas for the developers to get inspiration from. The players develop the game just as much as the developers do.

This is one of the worst takes In a Long time. The admins have done nothing but delivering great updates for the past year. Many People are still enjoying the game, there Will always be people quitting in every game. Its a humane thing to do, people move on in life. I would not call skyblock p2w since you are not rly galning an advantages over another player. Even if the admins dident add gems into the game people would just go elsewhere to buy coins incouraging ratting and macroing to obtain the coins. Simply because you are moving on and have played the contebt doesent make it a dying or bad game. Many people still enjoy it. I know it has some issues like every other game, but there is still so many good things about it too. Its kind of harsh calling it dying because you are moving on.

What we need is more endgame builds and more interconnected skills. Endgame for any skill usually only points to like one set of items with combat having slightly more. Most skills don't funnel into each other like they funnel into combat and I think it'd make the game a lot more fun if they did. Like imagine if in the teased fishing island update we got new crops and new gemstones(maybe even a new tree??) to work with like kelp and aquamarine that could help the fishing skill in someway(not to mention that they have talked about fishing being tied to alchemy later). Once all the skills all have gotten their reworks that they really should focus on interconnecting them to make progression in them feel less like a one way road.
There is already a lot of end game progression, adding more early game stuff would be healthier for Skyblock
Compared to many other mmos hypixel has done a pretty good job. P2W in skyblock is a literal joke unlike in other mmos where people who don't do it are thought to be lesser. Inflation is quite literally unavoidable when to give the power to create money to everyone. All the people I know that have quit due to boredom for the most part took the game to seriously, the cause for this boredom is a lack of proper mindset. Whenever a grind gets boring I swap to something fun and overall don't force myself to do grinds if I don't want to. The main issue currently is a skill cap where grinding skyblock levels become extrordinarily hard as one approaches 400 while gear can always be maxed more with noticeable return considering money is basically free. I really don't see skyblock dying in the near future. The new updates while not the best are showing amazing promise and it is now super easy to get into skyblock as a new player due to the rift.

In my opinion, if Hypixel stays active and does events like Dante it will bring back Skyblock. Skyblock just isn't fun when there aren't events that you can look forward too. The Dante event with Technoblade brought back so many players, so now imagine if we had an event similar to that once every year, maybe just a boss where everyone can participate. Another thing why Skyblock was popular and peaked in 2020-2021 was because everything was fun and new. If Hypixel were to announce a mystery event happening in a couple weeks imagine the player base coming back for the event. Also maybe they can add a story of Hypixel Lore like stuff about Barry the ideas are limitless.

Furthermore, I don't think I've ever seen someone actually rich because they bought cookies, seems to me that anyone with that much money to throw at skyblock just buys accounts or irl trades, but I'm sure there's a few.

Imma be honest, I think skyblock was perfect until dungeons were added and the power creep started growing to its current state with updates that are only looking to please the endgame players, like have you tried playing on a fresh profile, its incredibly more harsh in comparison to how it was long ago, I remember manually grinding for my tools, getting lapis then miner armor, building a spider and skeleton farm to get runaans bow and grappling hook, manually mining diamonds and killing pigs to get the pigman sword and perfect armor, slowly saving up for dragon armor, it felt genuinely rewarding to get those at the time, like you just made a major breakthrough, now that magic is gone, its all dungeon stuff that matters now and it feels kinda hollow

I want to say that someone who just started about a month ago and almost has mining and combat level 25 there’s still so much to do… as a new player at first it was overwhelming with the amount of stuff to do and de motivating because there’s so much to catch up on… as a dev I could see how u wouldn’t want to make a game too overwhelming for new players ie slayer quests, pets, catacombs, mining, hexing, tallisman’s crystal hollows and so forth it’s just a lot to comprehend for new players and they don’t want to continually add more and make things more complicated for new players… they make their money from newer players… once u have rank your not really spending a lot of money unless it’s gems that need continus new players so they can sell those new ranks and support the server

They are terrible at balancing tho. Berserker and healer need some update and buff. Stop nerfing things, start buffing or inventing newer items. Its stupid for someone to buy something for 100m(idk if there was such item) and then its nerfed to the ground, making item lose so much of its value. Its not a PvP game, only classes should feel equal.
Of course if things get to extreme they need a nerf, but that should be rare.

No Hypixel Skyblock won't die in the next 2 years, yes it's popularity has gone down but that is mostly due to life going back to "normal". When the pandemic hit everyone was locked inside so they had more time to play video games, which lead to a huge increase in player count. But the pandemic is over and people and especially students are going back to normal school. Also Hypixel Skyblock still has between 30-55k players daily, yes i know that it is not nearly as much as they had in 2020 and 2021 but that is because times change, it is still extreamly popular and not "almost dead".
Yes the admins don't always make the best decisions but making a working game is not so easy especially as they are working on a very old version of the game.
And lastly as long as there are youtubers like Thirtyvirus, Refraction, SwavyL and all the up and coming skyblock youtubers the game won't die.
So just because you don't play or like the game and have moved on to other things in your life (which is compleatly ok, most people do it at some point anyway) doesen't mean that other people can't enjoy it or that the game is "dying".
Yes i know that you are entiteld to your own opinion and i am not trying to undermine that (even though it might sound like it), but i just want you to look at the "bigger picture", and look at both the bad and good sieds of the game.

They could also give just a small gap for automation, i desinged 3 iterations of a farm for the garden, desing 1 failed due to no redstone updates, desing 2 to no minecarts, desing 3 which is horrible failed to looking down automatically after falling into the void. Those admins already let me quit twice and the next quit might be permanant.

The biggest issue that I find in sky lock is their team of devs and admins are not professional mmorpg game makers. Hypixel skyblock was able to sustain itself via it’s simple system when launched, and overtime gets flooded by different updates and game modes that made the system so complex it will become impossible to play in the future if they continue like this, there are too many things to be grinding in and there are too many issues that they have to deal with. The absolute best solution is to start developing on a new game and have a system similar to hoyoverse games, as it is much easier to be sustained overtime
What Hypixel skyblock was trying to do is to achieve better than wynncraft, in a result, they had the same problem as wynncraft, but in comparison, wynncraft is much more easily managed rather than skyblock due to it’s vast player base, leading to societal errors being demonstrated in their game systems
In summary Hypixel skyblock is just honkai impact 1 but in Minecraft.

The admins should actually help people who get hacked when they have proof that they aren't using a profile rollback to cheat and etc. The admins need to do their jobs as administrators instead of over-glorified people who own the damn server.

Crystal hollows requires over 100m to have a concerning amount of inflation, which locks most players out of it. Farming however has a cheap setup which means there are so many more players doing it thus making the inflation problem way worse
To counter some points of this video.
1. Although theres a claim for “pay-to-win”, grinding is still necessary to unlock most items. You need to do your daily enchanting experiments to get high enough enchantment levels to use higher tier enchants, combat for armor and weapons, including slayers, dungeons, and bestiary. And even with current inflated cookie prices, $5 can only get you 14m as of now, and that doesnt even come close for items such as hyperion or terminator. As well as the data you mentioned could be most likely flawed, as you know, 2020, COVID? And most of the ranks are a lifetime purchase, with most not feeling the need to upgrade at all, causing the income to go down. And as you mentioned, its much better to introduce a “legit” way to get coins to combat IRL Trading.
2. While yes, the garden and mining are huge contributors to inflation, you fail to mention sources of coin sinks. Stuff such as taxes on bz and ah, dungeons, dark and darker auctions, and slayers.
3. The admins are focusing on updates, its just that bigger updates require more time to develop, bug fix, and release. Item nerfs happen more often simply because its faster than making an entire update. And items have to get nerfed, its required to keep the game balance healthy.
4. Whether or not skyblock is boring is entirely subjective, if you want to stop playing, just stop.
And thats the end of my opinion on the matters mentioned.

My main thing with it is I got carries early on, now I have little to no way to catch up. It’s now a choice between start over and transfer stuff (and use it when ready) and just quitting.
Just grind the stuff you would have needed to do those grinds yourself. That way you have the levels to progress past it

Started skyblock again after 3 years, and realized how empty the servers are now. Back in time it was so hard to kill animals to make your first minions because of the amount of new players(and those blasting arrow mfs). It feels like a ghost town, and I don't know if it is a good idea to continue.
It’s a ghost town because everyone has moved on. There aren’t enough new players for animals to be competitive, but maybe try zealots, you’ll think the game is full to bursting if you see that.

for me each starting with the bazzar update made the game worse, i quit shortly after dungeons were released, quitting skyblock is one of the best things ive ever done. wynncraft is so much better in every way

New players are a good thing and well it’s bad to lose players especially old players, there not expected to stay forever. Old players are more loyal, like a friend willing to spend money for you, new ones don’t and even worse there way more less likely to stay. It doesn’t help that the grind is so painfully long that new player don’t feel like spending years to get somewhat end game in the game. It’s to donning for even me.

I recently got hooked on skyblock, and am currently enjoying learning how to grind, progress and have fun playing the game so it's maybe a bit disconcerting to hear that the trend is going downwards.
But on a separate note, I noticed that in the editing, it sounded like you cut off your own sentences in too early, and cut them off too soon, strengthening the illusion that you were reading a prepared script. Just some feedback, as it sounded a bit unnatural.

This aged really poorly lol. From everything I've seen. It just seems like the playerbase is stabilizing. Of course it's not going to every get back to the heights of when techno was promoting them. It's silly to gauge metrics off of that. A consistent 50-60k playerbase with 90-100k peaks is not even in the conversation of dying. This whole thing reminds me of when everyone was saying Wynncraft was dying. When it was really just stabilizing. Different scales but same thing.
The only youtubers that I know of that quit were rumored to being RMTers. So they were mad when they added to cookies to combat RMTing. The youtube space for Skyblock is actually pretty strong. Lots of mid to large size youtubers
I just play vanilla skyblock. Not on a server or anything, just my own world. That's what I have been doing for years, ever since skyblock 2.1. I never really got hypixel skyblock. It felt super cheaty to me and I just preferred the vanilla experience.

The game won’t be dead in 2 years. Sure it may not have the same player count but hypixel it self is the biggest Minecraft server. It’s the center of Java multiplayer. No matter if skyblock isn’t updated at all for a year, people will still play. It’s like smaller servers like the archon or mana cube. They still have existing communities even though their servers are 100x smaller and have been around since like 2014. Of course, end game players are not going to play because that’s what they are, end game. You beat the game and if you’re going to spend 200 hours a week playing on a server you shouldn’t expect to have all the fun in the world. Adding new updates won’t help the player base much because the game already has a lot for new players. Think about it. There was like 100,000 people on hypizel at one point, when the game wasn’t developed as much. Now you get all these new items and content and there’s even less people. But you can’t say it’s just the updates Is what drives people, it’s the creators. Techno blade brought out a large part of the player base when the game started, including me. We don’t see any other big RUclipsrs like dantdm anymore. It’s not just skyblock, it’s Minecraft. Overall point is that it’s not just the updates, and the game won’t be dead because you already have updates that kept people playing for a reason.

skyblock isn't pay to win, sure you can buy ranks and booster cookies, but they don't really help with progression

Having hundreds of millions of coins at the start definetly does help, dungeons are quite easy when you start with a level 100 leg ender dragon and enough money for maxed necron
Saying hypixel is pay to win is just false. Yes you could spend 700 dollars for a hype but even then you cant buy skills and the only person who would spend that much money is ragetrain. Yes buying gems may be great for some quick cash but is usually not worth it as one would have to spend absurd amounts to get really good gear.

Nothing hypixel does is against TOS as their servers run on an older version where it wasn't disallowed to have pay to win aspects. They have also gotten a pass for selling booster cookies and selling skins / cosmetics is even allowed in current TOS
This is why they removed the Colosseum if its not "competitive" it not pay to win according to tos
The TOS isn’t a good analogy as basically every server breaks it by not catering to 10 year olds and by having plugins with guns and Mojang doesn’t punish those servers for it

Great video, glad someone adressed some concerns that I personally shared as well. Skyblock just isn't "fun" to play anymore. It just feels like an endless grind and grind and grind again, over and over again. There needs to be more unique and fun mechanics implemented to save the game.
Let’s be real how much new and “unique” content can you add to a skyblock server before it isn’t “fun” it’s up to the player to continue making it fun. This is why cod still exists. Majority of the competitive player base would say it’s not fun. But they’re still goin and millions still spend hundreds on that game

The thing I dislike most about video's stating how skyblock/hypixel is dying, and why it's dying, never go indepth into their suggestions into ways to make it better, more enjoyable and overall a better experience. I understand the commentry side where you are only supposed to talk about what is happened, but when you bring up the idea that "it can still be saved", explain how, offer suggestions on improvements that can be made, instead of vaguely saying that they just need to make it more "fun". How are they supposed to do that when you don't offer suggestions on the issues that are happening. It is a fundamental issue with playerbases for games, where players complain about the gameplay and the way things are heading, without providing creative, fun ideas for the developers to get inspiration from. The players develop the game just as much as the developers do.
