7922V SCT / SBR Dooen Container Train With CLF2 X31 C501 CSR001 (13/2/2024) - PoathTV Railways

The Wimmera Container Lines service operated by SCT / SBR, running from Dooen (Horsham) to Melbourne, makes a spirited run through Gheringhap shortly before joining the dual gauge track in Batesford. Todays service is running with four different classes of diesel locomotives.

CLF2 and VR X31 and C501 in the lead while they're on hire due to a locomotive shortage at SCT.

SCT don't currently own enough locos for all their motive power needs. It's not uncommon for operators to short term lease locos during periods of higher season needs - every Summer/Autumn the loading from Dooen triples which has seen 3 locos hired just for that service. SCT has expanded operations over the last few years and needs even more locos which is why they've just long term leased the next 6 Railfirst CF's which are currently under construction by UGL.
