Both versions are different. But the tune set by Vijaybhaskar is more appropriate for the lyrics of Varakavi Bendre. Superb rendering by great P B Srinivas. Extrodinary Base voice. There is no singer in India who can match his voice and ease with which he renders the songs. Music field has lost the melody with his death
One of the historical and best song of Music Genius Kalingarao. The bad thing, you can also call it is worst thing, the song is so much adulterated by replacing the old original instrumentation (Kalinga Rao's main instruments are Hormonium, Bul-Bul Tarang, Tabala, Violin,, Kabasa) with new instruments in the name of revival. I am fortunate to witness Kalingarao's live concert, sitting in front row. I can still recollect his style of singing and the instruments used. The new instrumentation is not properly mixing with his soothing voice. it is very disturbing to listen this mixup, If you have heard the original. More unfortunate thing is, almost all the songs of Kalingarao available in RUclips is re-mixed with new instrument and you will not get the original tracks. We Indians are used to adulteration and do not have habit of keeping and appreciating our most valuable historical assets in its original form. But the good thing is, I am having some of Kalinga Rao's old 78 RPM shellac records, still able to enjoy his voice and music in its pure and original state.
