    Clear sky's last night, finally. 7 hour marathon. All new features worked well. Saw your video pop up as I was shutting down. 1AM for you. I'm sure all appreciate you going through the details on the changes. Good job. Thank you.

    Thanks for your video; I'm glad that ZWO continues to refine the SeeStar. I do wish, however, that they'd bring dithering back to enhance stacking. It was available briefly last year, then disappeared in the next update.
    Take care and clear skies, Michael

      I think it is dithering when imaging in Stargazing mode, there just isn't a manual control to enable or disable it - it is always on. Dithers after every 5 image attempts, it doesn't only count saved/stacked images. That's the pause you see in imaging after every 5 attempts.

    My favorite of the new features is #9, the filter! I'm going to use that a lot since my best view is toward the NW from my back patio. Thank you for making this great video!

    It needs an option to reinitialise whenever you need it.. for example I am having problems with hot pixels for the camera seems to warm up in the course of the session and I have no way to instruct it to retake darks... Custom objects is great no more "unknown" shooting I hope.

    The advantage of now having the new press only once to open the arm, is that you can't do what I did. I accidentally held the down arrow too long until the arm was nearly closed, causing a lot of what sounded like gear crunching, I had to hold the shutdown button on the back to stop the gears grinding. I've tried photo/video of the Sun and moon and it seems ok. When the skies clear I'll try it on deep sky objects.

    Filter is one of my favorites. I can't see north or north west. So I always had to check where things were before I got started. North, unfortunately for me, has a lot of stuff out there. I did notice during plate solving (20,40,60,80) a 90 popped up. Maybe that was the auto focus? I'll watch closer next time to see if there are any hints.

    WHEN EQUATORIAL MODE WILL BE EASY AND AVAILABLE?

  • @TheDigitalMD
    @TheDigitalMD 2 месяца назад

    Good video, but I would say there's nothing major here, just some nice tweaks to the user interface. What people are really clamoring for is a automatic schedule for shooting multiple targets in a session and a mosaic feature to image a larger FOV in star gazing mode. THat would be a major update.

    • @TheAstroRoom
      @TheAstroRoom  2 месяца назад +1

    Hello, thank you for making these videos to help explain the new features. Question, why are there 2 different versions of this app? I'm running V1.20.3 created on 7-26-24 and there's a version 2.0.0 from 8-4-24. They both have the same features but some of the screens are arranged differently. Have you seen this yet?

    • @TheAstroRoom
      @TheAstroRoom  2 месяца назад

      Perhaps the device your running version 1.20 just hasn’t been updated to the new one. Have you tried updating that one to the new firmware yet?

    • @kavikmute
      @kavikmute 2 месяца назад

      This is the new firmware update. This version of 1.20.3 is the same as your 2.0.0. I just noticed that some of your screens are set up differently than mine. My version was released in July and I think yours was released in August. It's the same new features as your 2.0. I download my updates from a link provided by the ZWO support team that contains all Seestar app updates since it was released last year.

      @@kavikmutethe home page screen looks exactly the same with this new update on both android and iOS. You are correct. I just went to the Google play store and saw the new update. It appears they have moved from the 1.20 series to the 2.0 series of apps. Apparently I was running an unofficial/pre-release version of the new app. I'll be updating both of my devices now. Thanks for the information

    In my opinion a failed update. Losing control of the tube movement, automatic star imaging creating folders that are not needed, for instance when we want yo focus a brilliant star to focus with Bahtinov mask or syncing. And I missed needed update like mosaics or separate the restart, continue and cancel options when we pause that image taking (with gloves is so easy to push restart instead of continue ruining a session. I hope that they will fix all of this

    BTW you are COMPLETELY WRONG! It does NOT focus AT ALL! The images were TERRIBLE!!! I can NOT believe they have TOTALLY removed any hope of tweaking the focus! I am VERY unhappy! If you look in settings you can re-enable auto focus BUT, it kinda sucked anyway. ZWO….bring back our ability to tweak the focus or, I might have to sell and buy something better!
