I made a cage liner using Zorb between fleece bottom and top. I didn’t use the bamboo layer as this was my first go at it. I would love to share pictures and credit this video on Facebook
Guinea Piggies Designs - thank you! I am having terrible trouble sewing together layers of guinea pig fleece bedding. I pin and clip the layers together carefully, but when I sew it in my machine, the fleece stretches terribly and I end up with a mess :(
@@tmackie1694 Fleece really has no stretch to it.... I use anti pill and blizzard fleece, if you are using a stretchy material, you are probably using the wrong needle.... You may need a stretch sewing machine needle. I only use denim needles though since I don't like sewing with stretch material... Hope this helps.
When i end the stitch i double nott it. Or double loop it lol it's been so long... Then i do it again.. A little different but both works.. your hand soeing is nicely ✔ ✔ ✔ and of course your machine work as well lol... You make it look so smooth and easy.. Yes! I no longer use bamboo batting, I just use u haul now. There is a site that sells absorbing fabric that is kind of like it but better, its wazoodle.com
I use denim needles for my machine, link for those are in the description. In this video my machine has a built in double accu feed foot. I recommend using a double accu feed foot. :)

Hello! I only use U-haul padding and Bamboo batting in the pads and liners, but you can use just U haul... I like the extra layers but not necessary. :)
No you dont, you would just have to wash your liners and pads way more often if you use one layer. I recommend wash your liner everyday if you are only using one layer. :)
One side is usually more vibrant which is the good side, the bad side is usually more blurry, If it's a solid color, the fuzzier side is usually the good side. Sometimes its really hard to tell especially with blizzard solid color fleece, I just would use my judgment and use the better looking side as the good side. Sometimes fleece could be reversible so sometimes it doesn't matter which side you use. Hope this helps. :)
Yes! My dogs use my bigger liners as beds, I would recommend you not use them for potty pads for dogs since they pee a lot more then the guinea pigs... So it would be a huge mess...

Do you think it would be feasible to have a liner with one layer of uhaul and the pads with two layers of uhaul? I'm on a budget and I do have a cage that is 28 x 42 so it's a little larger than a regular cage.
You can use one layer, not a problem, only issue is that it would get soiled quicker so if you have 1-4 pigs I recommend you wash your liner every single day to keep your piggies dry... If you have two layers of u haul you would have to wash every three days... If you use pads in high traffic areas that can cut down the amount of times you wash, you would just have to wash the pads everyday... but up to you. :)
Now that I figured out what you mean by u haul padding. Why do you use the Uhaul padding. I was going to make these pads for my kittens and mother who are confined til they have their first vaccine and they use litter boxes so is there any other purpose to using Uhaul padding. Other than to sop up urine?
I use U haul padding as an absorbing layer, fleece does not absorb anything. You could also use old towels or terry cloth, it doesnt have to be u haul. :)

You can use whatever thread you wish.... But for me I only recommend Aurifil Thread, all other threads I have used have lots of breakage, and I sew a lot so I only use Aurifil thread..... There is Guterman thread too which is a more affordable option... But I still had breakage with it. But anyhow use whatever thread works for you... :D

Easy, I just have a heavy duty machine that has a double feeder... Now most regular home machines are just not meant to sew through thick stuff so when buying a machine you just need to know what it is capable of... Most home machines are meant for clothes.. The singer heavy duty machine is a great starter machine for going through thick stuff.
I heard you need to wick your fleece in hot water to get it to absorb the pee. Is it ok wick it before you sew it into something or is it better to wait till after?
I think its better to wash it first if its for personal use.... but if you are selling I recommend not washing it due to some people being allergic to certain detergents and so forth.... but either way works... :)
It was great until it was around 14:30 (where you were finishing the closing). Because there’s was no audio & it was hard to tell what you were doing. Have you considered doing a updated version?

Same, its atleast 50+ for good ones. I did find some on Amazon for $32 I think but that's still alot when u need atleast 2 of them, but I went to Walmart and bought some fleece wicked it and just put 2 nice towels underneath. It was only like $30 and so far is really nice.
No... Its the stitch setting... In this video my thread tension is a knob and I usually leave it between 3 and 4... But keep in mind every machine is different so just because I use my tension on those settings does not mean it will work on your machine.. You just gotta experiment with what works for you. :)
To be honest im not sure, its the original foot that came with my machine so I guess its a standard foot... Now my machine has a double feeder, my foot will only work on a janome 6600 because its a double feeder foot that is standard for my machine, so if you do not have a janome 6600 it will not work on your machine.
Silver Fen It is called a walking foot. It is usually sold as an accessory for most machines, unless as she said you buy a machine intended for heavy duty sewing. I quilt a lot, so I bought a walking foot to attach the quilt binding. I have also found it useful for making purses, bags, and iPad cases.

What is the bamboo batting do to the pad how does it help it instead of not haveing it?
The bamboo batting makes it more comfy and also helps absorb more liquid but its not a must just something I do to make my products higher quality.

Its a moving pad, I use it as my absorbing layers because fleece itself does not absorb at all. :)
