Comparing Honda to Ferrrari is just dumb plus every person on earth dreams about owning Ferrari and fuck honda Ferrrai is master piece and Honda is lawnmower
Wade H Give me a break is a fucking honda. Wtf are you tards anglophones talking about? Ferrari win 15+16 f1 world championship pilot/constructor, and just in f1. Kids be serious please
This f355 is absolutely beautiful... i think it looks even better in black compared to the classic red. The problem is the service... and the whole engine that needs to be removed every now and then. The nsx is just made of easy to replace parts and is just so practical.... i think i d go for the nsx just for that.
true..though nowadays they remove the petrol tanks instead of the engine which is cheaper.. so servicing not quite as ridiculously expensive as it was.
They don't take the engine out now. It stresses the car shell and on cars this age there dan be a lot of issues with seized fittings and pipes etc. So as jack says they keep engine in place and it's a lot cheaper. About time this engine our myth was put to bed.
Good to know. That makes the 355 even more desirable I guess. The NSX still looks like a better option for a daily though. You have such great visibility compared to a 355. Also... quick question. Isn't the 355 just a slightly updated 348? I ve always seen it that way... a door panel and tail lights update. Do they have a complete different engine?
355 visibility is great, no problems, in fact apart from the windscreen I would say its actually better all round than the NSX. Also the F355 is very easy to drive and has a huge boot, they both do, they are both good everyday cars BUT you wouldn't. They are 20 years old and its best to use them on sunny weekends rather than subject them to constant abuse. Apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 L, the major difference between the V8 engine in the 348 and F355 is the introduction of a 5-valve cylinder head. This new head design allowed for better intake permeability and resulted in an engine that was considerably more powerful, producing 380 PS (279 kW; 375 hp).[1] The longitudinal 90° V8 engine was bored 2mm over the 348's engine (85 mm rather than 83 mm), resulting in the small increase in displacement. Engine internals are produced using lightweight materials; the connecting rods are forged in Ti6-Al-4V titanium alloy. The engine's compression ratio is 11:1 and employs the Bosch Motronic M2.7 engine control unit in the 1995 model year, later changed to the M5.2 in 1996 through end of production. The Motronic system controls the electronic fuel injection and ignition systems, with a single spark plug per cylinder. Engine lubrication is via a dry-sump oiling system. (from Wikepedia)
As is the fact that a bunch of people are absolute badge snobs and base their opinions only on the badge. Stupidity and those people loose out on alot of good things.
kris hey In fact, even without changing the badge, many NSX owners would tell you, they had already encounter many times people telling them ... Wooow Nice and beautiful Ferrari !
+Djork Solo I guess people call nsx from its release ''japanese Ferrari'' and use to mistake nsx with Ferrari because Ferrari is nothing at all - a lame, ugly, insignificant car, the little brother of Robin Reliant... How much ignorance...
Hello from America and great video! I love both the 355 and the NSX. They both look, sound, and drive awesome. However, I own an NSX. It is amazing on the track and a docile as a kitty on the road when you need it to be. Maintenance costs are minimal and it's easy to work on by myself if I have to. In any case, I'm subbing for more, keep up the good work.
Hi NeuronBob, Just came across this video and your comment. Nice to hear you have a NSX as well. Have one as well ('98 NA2 with CTSC) and absolutely love it. It's my second one, bought a '94 in 2002 but crashed it stupidly enough in Dec. 2008. Bought my second in 2010 and intend to keep it forever if I can. Drives amazingly, very sharp with the right wheels/tires..
MrStoneycool69 ... I would take the 355 any day because I could kick your ass on the track any day if I did. These are sports cars. Last time I checked, people by sports cars for sporting. You want a reliable egg beater? By the Honda Civic.
@@chocolatte6157 don't be a kid. U don't wanna put a 355 on a track. First it handles worse than the nsx, secondly yr expenses will be absurd. U don't buy a 355 to put it on a track, u buy cause of its design, its noise and of course its a Ferrari
"ohh come on...wtf.. what a pain" lmao. commentary is raw, real and funny stuff! It's so cool to see the nsx pitched against the 355.. and very unexpected but nice to see the NSX was favored slightly higher than the 355. Both are cars i adore. Keep up the great work! - A '92 NSX owner in New Zealand :)
Your videos are really hitting on some interesting cars and comparisons. You're doing a much better job picking cars than other channels, who seem to just miss answering these questions. While I enjoyed the vid, I wish you had a checklist of things to evaluate so there was a more comprehensive explanation of the experience. One extra aspect I'd be interested in hearing about is the brake pedal feel and response of the cars you review.
You're absolutely right buddy. To be quite honest I'm a crap reviewer.. because of that I just try and stick with the gut feelings I'm aware of at the time but it would not hurt for me to give a more complete report. Also wanted to try and avoid formulaic a.b.c.d.e..type going through the various bits. But I do need to try and work more info into the vids. Thanks for watching dude!
Your videos are really great and so pleasant to watch. Your comments are really authentic which makes your comparison so valuable. Please keep on going. I am looking forward to your next video already. Best wishes from Taiwan
@3:57 “Feel the engine!” this is by far one of my favorite moments in your videos! We were driving in Devon, UK last year and this scene kept popping into my mind as we would have to hedge our car due to the narrow UK country roads! Haha! Brilliant! 🚗💨
Gotta love people debating these that have never driven either. Honda may make more affordable everyday cars but if you just take a little gander at what these NSX’s are going for... you may be surprised at what they bring to the table.
Whoever says there is slack in the NSX steering has never driven one. In fact, it could well be the defining characteristic of the whole car: no slack anywhere.
There’s a deliberately dead area in the middle of the NSX steering feel. It means that while the 355 (or for that matter a Porsche 997) is constantly squirming in a straight line, the NSX just goes where you point it. As you turn in it then weights up beautifully. It’s just a different approach, the less shouty NSX VS the ‘chatty’ 355/997. Put a non professional driver in both on a track or a twisty B road and the NSX would disappear out of sight (also due to the compliant suspension) That’s what Gordon Murray was talking about. Remember cars have got faster since then NSX/ 355. It’s not obvious that they handle as well though. Probably the nearest modem equivalent is the McLaren MP4-12c
I’d own an NSX any day over the 348/355 of the era. No questions asked. If your offering me a one time drive, I’ll take the 355. Owning vs a test drive are two drastically different priorities.
Nice video! You captured the essence of the NSX quite well. It's docile when you want it to be, but a serious driver's car when you downshift a couple of gears and wring out the V6. I need to get my hands on an "analog" Ferrari to soon for my own comparison video! P.S. Those English b-roads look fun but a little sketchy.
Great review, you're honest, wear your heart on your sleeve and love your passion! It makes your channel worth watching. Very cool to see you get geeked out on the NSX, it is a truly great car. BUT, it's not in the same class as the Ferrari. Not even remotely close. Just because Acura made a GREAT car for a few years, doesn't mean it has the right to sit at the table. Look at Ferrari and Porsche's history, heck - look at Corvette's history and there is no competition when it comes to what is worth keeping and buying. The NSX has a very limited following (again, it is a great car) but it's not the same level of marque. My .02.
The 355 sounds amazing and has some beautiful details on it like the curved rear glass. This particular NSX is an awesome spec though. The imola orange just glows in the video, love the recaro seats and BBS wheels. Did the NSX have aftermarket exhaust? It sounds quite loud for an NSX.
You are very lucky to have driven a Type-S NSX. These are very rare and thought to be better than the NA1 Type-R! Also definetly more expensive than a F355
filip 4457 True the Type-S Zero is like the holy grail of all first gen NSX's. Is a very lightweight version and has a lot of Type-R parts with 3.2 engine.
NSX Type S-Zero vs 355 i pick nsx no hesitation if we go max spec vs max spec 355 challange is to fast but you cant drive it on road you will lose both kidneys so yea nsx zero is win
I adore both, Nsx because its just a cool rare car, plus Senna is all I need say. The 355 though is probably the best sounding road car ever, I chased one near Goodwood couple years back in my E39 M5, what a glorious orchestra.
20,000 views that's amazing. In answer to some of the comments below my F355 has not been a fortune to own. In 18 months and 3,000 miles other than the servicing it has needed an alternator, new plugs and a clutch bearing. It's actually a very well built car and very easy to poodle around in or drive quickly, better I would say than my 996, though not as quick as my 12C or Exige, obviously! We have taken it to the continent and it has been very comfortable and everything works, it will even do 23 mpg on a run. I was not a Ferrari person when I bought it and I am still not however the engine is epic, it's a masterpiece. It also bridges the gap between classic and modern Ferraris very well. It's a great car to own and I would thoroughly recommend one.I loved driving the NSX too, just as much but in a different way, it is a very special car but it is not standard and it would be interesting to see how the 355 stacks up to a standard NSX. I have sat in an NSX R too, only 2 in the U.K. But now valued at over £250k!
The nsx is my dream car. I allways wanted a Type R na1 or a Type S Zero. You came very close with the Type S. The 3.2 6 speed with Power steering (quicker ratio) is the way to go. They are collectors Cars now. Probably wont loose value.
IS the 3.2 the one without the flip up lights? I just don't like the look of that last car.. I know thats a bit silly but the flip up light cars looks so much better! Thanks for watching and for your comment!
I know you said it at the start of the video, but the real comparison is between this NSX and the 348. People love to bash the 348, and the earliest models had some issues - but the later cars certainly can hold up to an NSX. But that's the problem - it shouldn't hold up, it should be significantly better. This was a magical moment for Honda - input from Senna, the recipe for what makes an exceptional driver - it edged out the experience that Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus, Chevrolet (ZR-1 was out at the time) could provide. I think what nobody talks about now is where are we 30 years later? I think if you have 1 car, and you want it to be in this price range, the NSX is still a very strong contender... but I don't know. It's no longer about the performance of the car. Add the 355 to the mix. Personally, I'd choose a 1993+ 348. Because I'd be buying on looks. All the cars mentioned are fun, all of them get slaughtered in performance - so for me.. the car that would put the biggest smile on my face is the mini Testarossa. To each their own.
Number27 Glad I'm right. I think I know my Hondas well😊. Yes, intake sound is glorious once you hit vtec. I own an S2000 and an Integra DC2 both with standard intakes but have had to modify the exhaust on both to improve that side of things. On the S2000, I've done the "UK exhaust mod" on the back box and I've replaced the complete exhaust system on the Integra for a full Mugen twin loop exhaust system. Both mods are usable daily with no drone and do improve sound coming from the rear.
Better car definitely is the NSX and could even be the more collectible ( if taken good care of ). Harking back to 308, the 355 is as equal in drama and good looks.
So here is something to add into the equation....The Ferrari is now in for its annual service and it has a misfire so is down on power at the bottom end and is not revving anywhere near as fast as it should be (nothing to worry about just spark plugs). Also the engine mount rubbers have perished so the car will not feel as mechanical / connected as it should. One of the CV joints has play and all the pads need replacing and the 2 front discs. The work will be completed next week and the car will then be as good as new so unfortunately you will need to drive it again.....
In other news my 1991 NSX just had its annual service. Oil, filter and… that’s it. 😂 I’ve had it 17 years and 20k miles, nothing has ever broken on it, nothing. Seriously they are both iconic cars and the only answer is to have both (plus a Porsche 997 to complete the set.) This really was the best era for supercars.
It might be worth mentioning in the title that the NSX is a Type-S. Even in print, Type-S reviews are scarce (especially in English)- and it is interesting to find that it compares favorably with the 355- a car that is so well liked. I also expect that there is interest specifically in the Type-S version because it was widely experienced in the earlier Gran Turismo games. My understanding is that the Type S is extremely rare and was extremely expensive when new. I have read that fewer than 250 were ever produced (not sure if this includes the S-Zero) and it was priced above the Type-S Zero and NA1 Type-R. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this unique car! Also, I realize this is deeply nerdy, but if anyone is actually wondering, the color is Imola Orange Pearl. I can't imagine there are many others in this spec.
Number27 Very Nice video, and the NSX S was just right version to put in front of the 348/355. For me 355, did not bring back ferrari honor, the NSX S, NSX S Zero, and more NSX R NA2 just made the honor of many prestigious brands fly away ! Thanks to Ayrton Senna help, NSX became a very amazing katana ! RIP to him which pass away before the NSX R NA2 was available, this perfect road sport car, that he thought was never possible !
Two really cool cars! Here I go with the same old comment but Jack it's another great video and I can safely say number27 is my favourite thing on RUclips 🖒 I really hope your channel ends up as big as shmee and solomondrin etc it deserves to be 🥇🤞
The best part with the NSX is how little you generally have to worry about it. Maintain it like an accord, drive it like a Porsche, turn heads nearly like a Ferrari. I just ticked over 267,000 miles on my "Acura" NSX (because yank), and it's had issues, but I think the total I've paid in 10 years on maintenance (with some DIY) is equivalent to maybe 1 or 2 services on a 355. Having said that, given all the money in the world, I'd definitely own a 355 in addition, for the noise alone if nothing else.
I must have missed this one Jack... just watched it, great combo to drive, nice video :-). No wonder you like both so much. In term of size / weight / power etc your Evora S is pretty close in spec... dont know about the drive... could be another idea for a re-run ;-)
Great video Number27. Really enjoyed a lot! Keep on the good job! What cameras you use on your edition? Still waiting for a test on a Supra MKIV twin turbo or a Esprit S4s. I think you made a mistake on selling your Esprit turbo...but anyway it's just my opinion...dont get me wrong! 💪👍
I'm guessing the NSX is easier to own, so it might be the more sensible choice. And while they're both beautiful cars, I get weak whenever I see a 355. Much respect to Honda, but the Ferrari would be my pick. It's funny to think that without the NSX the 355 might never have happened.
The NSX was really ahead of its time, the reliability alone made it the winner. My brother has an NSX, he does his own oil, clutch, pretty much all of the maintenance. The NSX is a super car the average JOE can wrench 🔧 on.
Most realist review I've seen in years roads aint perfect but the cars still shone on them my verdict the honda is just better Love both regardless welldone great review
I've driven both - a lot. I love them both - a lot, but the NSX was made in 1989 and it's STILL in high demand, it can still contend with modern cars (in every way), it's incredibly comfortable. Everyone's lining up to get the newest Ferrari's, while people are STILL lining up to get a Honda that was built in 1989......And for Mr. "911 FLAT SIX". You must not know that first and foremost, Honda is an Engineering company. They must've done something right if a 30 year old car is still being clamored for. BTW: I've driven your car (all of the 911 models) many times as well and your comment lets me know that you either don't own one, or can't drive it proper..PS. What do you think of Volkswagen? Because that's who owns Porsche. Just like my Audis. Brand names mean nothing.. I feel bad for you.
No. I thought your review was spot on! I was making a general comment that was eventually directed at "911 FLAT SIX" (The comment that you pinned to the top of the comments). Clearly that person knows nothing about automotive engineering and I can't stand arrogant ignorance so I felt inclined to highlight his ignorance. Having experience with both cars, my review is almost identical to yours.....even that Burnt Orange color. It's my favorite also. Well done!
355's are easily worth more sorry. The NSX is a one off and thats why its sought after. Ferrari have made dozens of amazing cars in the interim. Thats the difference
Such a great test drive video !! It seems that both are really great cars... But I would like to point out a wining-factor on the HONDA's side - its reliability! - even in 10 more years, everything in it will work...
I doubt that Shift Gears has driven either. There a few Ferraris that I haven't driven including 812 and 488 on Fiorano Test Track. I own a 430 manual and Testarossa and have driven most models, not all. Then again I have a 2002 Honda NSX. It is an amazing machine, conceived many years earlier and before 355. No, the compare is not dumb. It's perfectly sound and a well balanced opinion is offered here. The NSX delivers fabulous driver involvement and magnificent engineering, build quality that Ferrari can't match, not then anyway and reliability. The whole packaging of NSX is an unbelievable feat of engineering. I may buy a 355 to enable me to offer another back to back opinion as I can't recall when and indeed if I have ever driven one! There you go. That's why the above video is entirely valid. One final point. There are nightmare references around that talk about the 355 Achilles heel; that's engine reliability and failures with valves etc. I've never seen the same for NSX.
The 355 may be the most beautiful Ferrari ever, but the cost of ownership is very high. I have an NSX-T. Put on a Comptech supercharger, air flow system and exhaust. It's fast enough for me and looks great. The nice thing about the NSX S is not what is has, but all the weight that it doesn't have. I don't think the S version is available in the US.
None of the young guys commenting here knows that many models like the NSX were designed by dozens of Japanese engineers with the only goal to beat the Ferrari in each single of the specs forgetting the magic and poetry of the car style and the drive experience that cannot be the simple sum of multiple factors. So, even if they probably succeded on the performances and mechanical setup, would you really compare a perfect Japanese lab car with an Italian stallon delivered from the mad mind of two, maximum three genius ??? If you don't have money for a Ferrarri keep your very good Honda and money for the oil change but - please - don't say you did it because you made a choice.
Run my F355 for 10 years now. Just can't bring myself to sell it. Cheapest car I ever had too. Even with a few cambelt services it's made money. One of the greatest.
208 was a wonderfull car hugely successfull in italy...that little engine is great. the turbo ones can pack a punch i dont know why everyone scorn the 208....great car in the lower hp range
Best car ever : McLaren F1 Best second car ever : Honda NSX, who inspired Gordon Murray for the McLaren F1 philosophy and having some Ayrton Senna Da Silva input There is no accident. If Honda wanted to give more means for the project, with a V8 of 4L for instance, a much bigger budget for development, which was slow and erratic for most part of this 1984-1989 project, if Honda pushed for the GT1 project, and even linked it to McLaren, then this NSX would be even more legendary than it already is And it is already a huge legend. I still recall the day when I saw a NSX in the street of Paris, and it was the same colour as this one. I have seen many Ferrari, McLaren , Aston Martin, Maserati, Lamborghini ( a neighbour has one parked next to me) Jaguar ( including a XJ-220) etc... but still the three particular days I recall, are the day I saw on TV the presentation of the McLaren F1 prototype at Monaco GP in 1992, the day I saw a McLaren F1 GTR and the day I saw a NSX
I tell you, it's hard doing everything as a one man band..earlier in the day every time I tried to get the external shots another car would turn up atet exactly the wrong time.. so by the time it got to the drive and I was blocked twice I lost it a little!! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you!! I appreciate your positive comments! If I can I will for sure try and get to drive those cars. Be interesting to see how an S4 compares to my old S3!
Two great cars there. I still think I would take the 355 with all of it's peccadilloes. P.S. As a car reviewer you should know it is 'coupay' not 'coop' :P
Honda just knows how to make the best cars ever and let the others follow suit...... It is just incredible how Honda Beat Ferrari on its own game. The NSX is a Legend not only being a better driver's car but being reliable and day to day easy to live. Just impressive World class Engineering. Take that Ferrari.
Rocketman I’m surprised that nobody has pointed out that when Ferrari were developing the 355 they obtained a NSX which all the technical team were persuaded to use as a daily driver for one week each This was in an effort to produce a user friendly Ferrari (at last)which they succeeded in doing Having owned an early NSX myself I am tempted to say that I wish Honda had obtained a 246 Dino in order to engender some Italian emotional feedback into the car which I found lacking in what was an outstanding achievement by Honda
Good video and more like how "normal" people would review a car. :) None of the usual cliches either. Which makes a nice change. If you ever get the chance to try an NSX-R, take it with both hands. Hire extra hands if needed. :) The way the S is different from the "base" model, the R is as different again. _Very_ visceral. No power steering, feels bolted to the road. Might be too raw as a regular driver though. Subscribed.
NSX is definitely right.. this is type S and it sounded EPIC!! The 355 was muted and I did not manage to get good engine sound open this run.. but honestly, that NSX although different sounds just as good if not better. I was shocked too. I don't think cooking versions sound as good
Both engines just sound 'compressed' here and lacking depth/sole. I used to own a 96 NSX-T (100% UK car). Superb car, which sounded amazing just like many other RUclips NSX videos... just not this one. I'm just saying I think your mic/recording equipment might not be capturing things as well as possible. Great channel though, keep it up! :-)
Ian Davidson yeah, engine sound is the hardest part of making these videos!! Something I struggle with. Thanks for the feedback and the nice words about the vids!
I own both, and I love them both. However, the difference in power on the two cars are fairly big... we are talking almost 100 HP and 50 ft-lb different. In addition, NSX actually weight a little bit more than the F355. Believe it or now, the F355 is shorter and smaller than the NSX. You can't go wrong with either one!!
Thank you Number27, I am fairly lucky. I think if I have the F355 in stick, maybe I would be even more happy. :) Yes, feeling is very similar. However, on a straight, with similar weight, that added horse power does really show. I actually prefer NSX more on a winding back road.... So yes, the NSX is more of a driver's car, but the sound is hands down F355!!!
Awesome video Jack your bloody lucky it's a tricky one this I would have the Ferrari but then would I want the service costs and poor build quality oh sod it both would look great on my drive 😍
Build quality on the 355 is actually very good, I have been very impressed with it. It's 20 years old and gets driven a lot and apart from the sticky interiors it's been very good.
It's quite a thing to behold that the F355 entered production half a decade after the NSX and still wasn't as good, hell Ferrari didn't even manage to catch the '91 NSX-R at the ring until the 360 CS edition. It's a thing to behold again that the F355 was selling multiple times what the NSX was during their shared production era, people really liked that badge as it was the only thing it had going for it, didn't even look as nice as the 348.
The NSX, a great sports car in its own right, just feels a bit anticlimactic behind the wheel when compared to both the 348 and F355, from the weight of the inputs, to the sound, and in the case of the manual racked 348, steering feedback. Much less of an event, and like listening to an album on a fantastic home stereo vs standing in the front row at a concert. The NSX certainly takes its place with servicing costs, ease of driveability, build quality, and I personally prefer the outward view from inside the NSXs cabin, but most of those attributes misses the primary point of these types of cars.
This one was a type S and had and an aftermarket back box so the comparison was a bit unfair.. but in that form it really was a better drive than the 355. Now compare an early 355 coupe to standard NSX and the answer would maybe be different..thanks for watching! (and commenting!)
Comparing Honda to Ferrrari is just dumb plus every person on earth dreams about owning Ferrari and fuck honda Ferrrai is master piece and Honda is lawnmower
911 H20Cooled 🤭😂 how old are you? 12?
most deluded comment I've seen in 2018
Ive owned both...NSX is far more superior sports car than 355.
Number27 his comment is indicative of his emotional maturity.
(from Wikepedia)
exterior and sound ok, but the rest of the car the nsx is a lot better.
If you would put a Ferrari badge on the NSX, fewer people would doubt what car to pick...
Ha!! good point Kristof!
If a NSX owner put a Ferrari badge in a NSX, today its cosiderer a shame for the NSX.

Hi NeuronBob,
Just came across this video and your comment.
How much did it cost u to buy it?
You guys own one of my dream cars, enjoy that beautiful Honda :)
I'd take the NSX any day, reliable ease of maintenance and build quality.
this one I type S and it was amazing!! thanks for watching!
MrStoneycool69 ... I would take the 355 any day because I could kick your ass on the track any day if I did. These are sports cars. Last time I checked, people by sports cars for sporting. You want a reliable egg beater? By the Honda Civic.
Honda made a sports car with more refinement and reliability, Ferrari took a shit to realise that.
@@chocolatte6157 don't be a kid. U don't wanna put a 355 on a track. First it handles worse than the nsx, secondly yr expenses will be absurd. U don't buy a 355 to put it on a track, u buy cause of its design, its noise and of course its a Ferrari
@@chocolatte6157 ? The nsx was worked on by Senna lol
Thanks Buddy and glad you enjoyed it!
the dream how much did you buy yours for? I see some on trademe between 65-85k
The F355 is one of my all time favourites, but wow, that NSX has aged very well sitting next to the Ferrari!
Agree.. NSX also looks great. In the flesh though the 355 is much better proportioned! thanks for watching!
_",,,the car that really spanked Ferrari into shape."_ 🏎
You drive the nsx every day for the next 15 years or drive ferrari for the next 15 minutes until it catches fire or blows up
Or you get tired and broke
And your an idiot.
@hoovie’s Ferrari 😂
in terms of maintainance, NSX wins everytime, no engine out for the nsx
yep, though now they have figured out how to do the belts on the 355 without engine out! NSX still cheaper to run though
Nsx is top
According to C&D report from the 90's, it is better.
Rob feretti said that too.
Hey my friend, lovely to hear from you again Thanks so much for the great feedback. I'm not a great reviewer so 'authenticity' is what I rely on ;)!!
In all aspects, the NSX for me. Its so timeless
Nsx is top

@3:57 “Feel the engine!” this is by far one of my favorite moments in your videos! We were driving in Devon, UK last year and this scene kept popping into my mind as we would have to hedge our car due to the narrow UK country roads! Haha! Brilliant! 🚗💨
Gotta love people debating these that have never driven either. Honda may make more affordable everyday cars but if you just take a little gander at what these NSX’s are going for... you may be surprised at what they bring to the table.
yep, the NSX is not cheap at all! not far off 355 prices really!
NSX, one car to rule them all. ;)
Love the NSX!! It is a dream for me! keep up the good work mate!
Mi to !

Great video Jack! I will take both : )
Nick Murray wellll welll welll, look who I found here.
Apple butters he had no choice Apple.. I’ve been sending him my videos and he’s being polite!! ;)
Number27 ahh that's awesome. I love both of your channels and would love if y'all did a collab video one day!
Who knows, if I'm ever in the US I will try and visit for sure. Thanks for the kind words Apple!
How are you not the most popular car RUclipsr? Amazing videos! Keep up the great work
Whoever says there is slack in the NSX steering has never driven one. In fact, it could well be the defining characteristic of the whole car: no slack anywhere.
Its because the "slow" steering ratio, but not slack, its a differnet thing but some people can feel the same.
Put a non professional driver in both on a track or a twisty B road and the NSX would disappear out of sight (also due to the compliant suspension)
That’s what Gordon Murray was talking about.
Yes those roads are a little hairy.. we don't have the space you have over in the US! glad you've commented and I've now found you channel too!
Nice to see comments from another good reviewer
A 360 Challenge Stradale, or Testarossa are your cars. A F40 would be too much car for a NSX lover
Classic rivals right there.
Great video, thanks
The Ferrari remains just beautiful even after all these years. The NSX would be by far the least painful ownership prospect. Heart or head?
Both awesome cars!!! Thanks for watching!!
You are very lucky to have driven a Type-S NSX. These are very rare and thought to be better than the NA1 Type-R! Also definetly more expensive than a F355
Yes, it is a type S.. do I not mention that in the video? Sloppy of me!
You did mention it I think. Either way I just wanted to say that you are very lucky to have driven one. ;P
NSX Type S-Zero (NSX-S-Zero) with swapped 6 speed is all time best
filip 4457 True the Type-S Zero is like the holy grail of all first gen NSX's.
Such an awesome car review sir ! NSX's are considered one of the best chasis of their time :)
Thank you buddy, very nice of you to say you enjoyed it! Have a great day!
I adore both, Nsx because its just a cool rare car, plus Senna is all I need say. The 355 though is probably the best sounding road car ever, I chased one near Goodwood couple years back in my E39 M5, what a glorious orchestra.
yep, they do sound absolutely AMAZING
Number27 the 3.2 6 speed came with both. 97-02 with Pop up lights (also my favourite) 02-05 with fixed lights.
Very much enjoyed the review. I wonder if that Nsx did have an aftermarket exhaust from the way it sounded.
You're absolutely right!! Back boxes were not original. Well spotted. Although with these cars from the cabin it is more about intake noise really.
Both great cars!!! Thanks for watching!
When I was a kid, one of my parents' neighbors had a silver NSX. I always stared in awe whenever I saw him driving it.
Yes, very cool cars!!
You're a hard task master Paul, drive it again?? the things I do for you.. ;)
In other news my 1991 NSX just had its annual service. Oil, filter and… that’s it. 😂 I’ve had it 17 years and 20k miles, nothing has ever broken on it, nothing.
Seriously they are both iconic cars and the only answer is to have both (plus a Porsche 997 to complete the set.)
This really was the best era for supercars.
First review I’ve ever watched on the NSX, good job #27
Thanks for watching and for your thoughtful comments. The S is indeed a dream car, shuddering to think what this one would be worth..
Thanks for the nice comments Djork! glad you enjoyed the video. Do love the NSX..
Two really cool cars! Here I go with the same old comment but Jack it's another great video and I can safely say number27 is my favourite thing on RUclips 🖒
I really hope your channel ends up as big as shmee and solomondrin etc it deserves to be 🥇🤞
Thanks Ryan, appreciate the encouragement buddy!! Thanks for watching
After that first WOT pull I could see the love with the NSX. I'd have it too, but not sure I would have it over my RX7. I would need to have both.
Yep, the NSX was really the first supercar that id not need ridiculous maintenance! Thanks for watching and for your comment fella!
From Colorado, USA, keep it up! Great channel!
Woah!! Thanks Matt, great to know I've got a viewer in Colorado!
NSX and my heart beat higher😍❤️
I must have missed this one Jack... just watched it, great combo to drive, nice video :-). No wonder you like both so much. In term of size / weight / power etc your Evora S is pretty close in spec... dont know about the drive... could be another idea for a re-run ;-)
That's a great idea Sean! glad you enjoyed this one..
Haha, "so much traffic everywhere". If you're in a car, you ARE the traffic, but I'm sure you're aware of this. Another great vid.
No, not me, it's everyone else ;) thanks for watching Andrew!
There's an NSX of this exact colour (Imola Orange Pearl) for sale on PistonHeads right now
Buy it immediately Ian!!! I wish I could. Thanks for watching!
Most realist review I've seen in years roads aint perfect but the cars still shone on them my verdict the honda is just better
Love both regardless welldone great review
Do love the NSX! Not sure if your comments were directed at me or someone else? But thanks for watching
The Honda engine is a peach - some nice mods by the owner too. They do munch their rear tyres!
Yeah, lovely spec NSX that one. Thanks for watching!
Love both cars, having not driven either one I'd pick the Ferrari. Enjoyed your perspective.
Such a great test drive video !! It seems that both are really great cars...
But I would like to point out a wining-factor on the HONDA's side - its reliability! - even in 10 more years, everything in it will work...
realy cool review and comparison, keep it up!
Thanks Tiago, very nice of you to say!!! Glad you enjoyed it
Another great vid, thumbs up
Thanks, appreciate it!
I fell your passion, and your comparison just make me wondering that why don't we just have the cake and eat it too !!! :)))
Haha!! Thanks for watching Daviet
How wonderful, thank you. The Spanish 🇪🇸😊 translated channel would be fine. I stay with the Ferrari I love it. The interior of the spectacular Honda.
I've never seen the same for NSX.
anthony robinson Hey thanks for your interesting reply and for watching the video Anthony !! 🙏
The v6 in that NSX is a dream.
Decisions, decisions. Both great cars and i wouldn't like to choose to be honest....Awesome video as always
Carl Harvey your pocket book may have a say
Thanks Carl.. start saving buddy and get both!!!
I will have to start selling my body parts just to afford the NSX
Run my F355 for 10 years now. Just can't bring myself to sell it. Cheapest car I ever had too. Even with a few cambelt services it's made money. One of the greatest.
my favourite small mid engined ferrari I think..not yet bettered!
208 was a wonderfull car hugely successfull in italy...that little engine is great. the turbo ones can pack a punch
i dont know why everyone scorn the 208....great car in the lower hp range
I'm surprised the Ferrari didn't break down on the test drive.
Speed isnt everything ... style class Sound !❤️
Best car ever : McLaren F1
Best second car ever : Honda NSX, who inspired Gordon Murray for the McLaren F1 philosophy and having some Ayrton Senna Da Silva input
There is no accident.
If Honda wanted to give more means for the project, with a V8 of 4L for instance, a much bigger budget for development, which was slow and erratic for most part of this 1984-1989 project, if Honda pushed for the GT1 project, and even linked it to McLaren, then this NSX would be even more legendary than it already is
And it is already a huge legend.
Wow, what a beautiful color
Great video as usual. :D
Thanks Magnus, appreciate it!!
The frustration with a single shared lane is understandable. That really looks like a PITA.
I tell you, it's hard doing everything as a one man band..earlier in the day every time I tried to get the external shots another car would turn up atet exactly the wrong time.. so by the time it got to the drive and I was blocked twice I lost it a little!! Thanks for watching!!
Honda hands down.....just better Engineering!!!
Nice work! When do you make a video of a Supra A80 MkIV twin turbo or a Esprit SE/S4s that would be nice.
How do these compare to the Maserati Gransport you had on earlier? That thing was faster and newer i believe
Would easily rather have either of these. Did not much like the Maser in the end. The engine is epic but everything else is mismatched or sub par
Agree.. maxing car!
Honda NSX is top
ruclips.net/video/oJGQh5ygn4Y/видео.html
NSX and F355...two of the most beautiful cars ever made on earth, period!!!
agreed!!! thanks for watching
Rocketman
I’m surprised that nobody has pointed out that when Ferrari were developing the 355 they obtained a NSX which all the technical team were persuaded to use as a daily driver for one week each
This was in an effort to produce a user friendly Ferrari (at last)which they succeeded in doing
Having owned an early NSX myself I am tempted to say that I wish Honda had obtained a 246 Dino in order to engender some Italian emotional feedback into the car which I found lacking in what was an outstanding achievement by Honda
is that a type s zero?
Good video and more like how "normal" people would review a car. :) None of the usual cliches either. Which makes a nice change. If you ever get the chance to try an NSX-R, take it with both hands. Hire extra hands if needed. :) The way the S is different from the "base" model, the R is as different again. _Very_ visceral. No power steering, feels bolted to the road. Might be too raw as a regular driver though.
Subscribed.
Would love to try an R!!! Hopefully some time in the future I'll hire some extra hands ;)! Thanks for the nice comments, much appreciated!
Great video, but I'm wondering if you audio is right. The 355 doesn't sound like a 355 and the NSX doesn't sound like an NSX !?
Doraemon wow, you’re an extremely lucky man!! Have to say this NSX did not feel much slower than the 355...
I wish you would do a 1/4 mile drag race if you still happen to have the cars.
Number27 he probably has a different model with a long ratio 5 speed transmission.
Yes, I do. However, even with the 6-speed, I still feel that the F355 is just a bit faster...
You were driving way faster on the Honda it seems :) Thats what they do, they give confidence :D
Yes plus the 355 is known for twitchy on the limit handling !
@@Number27 Ah right, you said it in the video :D
I'd love to have both
you should test drive a NSX-R if you have a chance, because that is the real deal
The NA2-R is. The NA1-R is actually not better than this Type-S.
Awesome video Jack your bloody lucky it's a tricky one this I would have the Ferrari but then would I want the service costs and poor build quality oh sod it both would look great on my drive 😍
Indeed mate.. I think the NSX would be quicker to detail.. the Fezza needs more work..;)
Number27 did my friends 308GTB years ago back breaking because there so low gorgeous cars but the build quality of primark underpants 😂
Build quality on the 355 is actually very good, I have been very impressed with it. It's 20 years old and gets driven a lot and apart from the sticky interiors it's been very good.
I always felt the NSX needed two more cylinders and about another 100BHP to be considered a competitor to the Ferrari 355.
It was meant to compete with the 911!
Honda fanboys got a kick out of this😂
I’m an owner of a F355 but never drove a nsx so I can’t say anything, nice vid!
Try one, but make sure it's a good one preferably with a Soucy exhaust. I love both but this NSX really was special. Thanks for watching!!
you'll never know what Honda is up-to. The thing you will see is exceptional and unique.
very true, innovators first and foremost. Thanks for watching!
I've heard that the 355 is a pain to maintain and I'd bet the Honda is less hassle in that regard.
I need to get my hands on a NSX. Value is just going up every year.
I think they have stopped now but yes.. if only we had bought maybe 5-10 years ago!!!
Which one was ferrari?
It's quite a thing to behold that the F355 entered production half a decade after the NSX and still wasn't as good, hell Ferrari didn't even manage to catch the '91 NSX-R at the ring until the 360 CS edition. It's a thing to behold again that the F355 was selling multiple times what the NSX was during their shared production era, people really liked that badge as it was the only thing it had going for it, didn't even look as nice as the 348.
Disagree.. sounds amazing, looks way better than a 348..
Honda used to do some very wonderful things two decades ago; so said.
You don't rate the NSX then Dominic??
People who prefers Honda NSX over Ferrari 355 have no idea what a is Ferrari
Have you driven both? The NSX really is very special
Nice comparison!
Drive it in third gear @ 7-8k and into the red at a curve and you might just cum in ur pants ... defenitely climactic my pants can bouche for it
If you have the NSX you have to explain to 99% of people what you have, the Ferrari they all know what you've got
Superb video!!!
Thank you Ricky !!
Put that F355 engine into the Honda= perfection.
Great video!
Thank you Paul!
