Luego de ver por enésima vez el trailler de Un blues para Teheran, RUclips me llevó a esta canción "Radio Magallanes" y no lo podía creer, no sabía de esta lindísima composición, y luego escuchar el último discurso del Presidente Allende, fue una "casualidad" mágica. Soy chilena, de Punta Arenas, Región de Magallanes (Patagonia)!!☺
No puedo dejar de escucharlo, nunca imaginé, que un maestro, creara un réquiem tan hermoso, en honor de otro gran maestro iluminado, Padre de la Patria Digna, es el eje de la tercera vía, no violenta hacia un socialismo real, basado en una revolución de conciencia, elevar al Ser Humano, a lo más sublime de su existencia, dotar al hombre de la dignidad, que lo construye como tal. Grande nuestro Presidente, cambió la historia de occidente para siempre, mucho antes de la caída del muro de Berlín, Allende planteaba un cambio radical en el concepto revolución, la verdadera revolución sería consciencia y no de enfrentamiento humano, de unos contra otros. Un pacifista que se enfrentó absolutamente solo contra la CIA y dejó su impronta en la Historia. Honor y Gloria al más grande de los nuestros. Viva Chile. Rarely do I feel the desire to post a comment to social media of any kind, yet Ibrahim's music just compels me to post my gratitude. As I posted on his other melody, True Story, a friend of mine who lives in Turkey introduced me to his music and I simply can not get enough of it. The absolute passion and talent pouring from every song is intoxicating, moving, and energizing. I doubt he'll ever see this but I'll say it anyway. Ibrahim, thank you for your work. Écoutée une fois par jour depuis sa naissance. Les larmes jaillissent toujours autant, les frissons commencent à la tête et finissent au bout des pieds. C’est magistral, magique, magiquement magistral. Force puissance et délicatesse. Merci beaucoup Ibrahim pour ces temps forts dans le temps qui s’écoule à une vitesse folle. Grâce à vous les aiguilles de l’horloge s’arrêtent un peu et envahissent l’instant. ❤ … je ne m’en lasserai jamais .
Peut-être mon morceau préféré de cet album magique.
La première image qui m'est venue est celle d'un homme désespéré à qui on insuffle un maigre espoir, une chance infinitésimale d'échapper au malheur ou à la mort d'un proche. Une chance sur un milliard. Mais une chance. Une chance qui redonne l'espoir et, avec l'énergie du désespoir, il va se battre, il va courir, il va abattre des montagnes, il va tout faire pour réaliser ce qu'on lui avait qu'il était impossible de faire, il va hurler, il va pleurer, il va courir après cette chance ténue , cette lueur d'espoir guère plus vivace qu'une chandelle à l'orée de la tempête, mais il va se battre et maudire les dieux et les augures pour échapper au malheur.

À vous de voir ce que vous voulez dans la dernière partie. Mais le combat est magnifique. Quel morceau de musique étonnant !

22/04/2020: j'écoute ce morceau pour la unième fois avec des larmes qui coulent comme des missiles, je ne sais pas qui ce que m'a touché dans ce track, je sens une énergie, une force une mélancolie; l'amalgame des sentiments qui m'envahissent maintenant c'est juste inexplicable.

My words do not have bitterness but disappointment. May they be a moral punishment for those who have betrayed their oath: soldiers of Chile, titular commanders in chief, Admiral Merino, who has designated himself Commander of the Navy, and Mr. Mendoza, the despicable general who only yesterday pledged his fidelity and loyalty to the Government, and who also has appointed himself Chief of the Carabineros.
Given these facts, the only thing left for me is to say to workers: I am not going to resign!
Placed in a historic transition, I will pay for loyalty to the people with my life. And I say to them that I am certain that the seed which we have planted in the good conscience of thousands and thousands of Chileans will not be shriveled forever.
They have strength and will be able to dominate us, but social processes can be arrested neither by crime nor force. History is ours, and people make history.
Workers of my country: I want to thank you for the loyalty that you always had, the confidence that you deposited in a man who was only an interpreter of great yearnings for justice, who gave his word that he would respect the Constitution and the law and did just that. At this definitive moment, the last moment when I can address you, I wish you to take advantage of the lesson: foreign capital, imperialism, together with the reaction, created the climate in which the Armed Forces broke their tradition, the tradition taught by General Schneider and reaffirmed by Commander Araya, victims of the same social sector which will today be in their homes hoping, with foreign assistance, to retake power to continue defending their profits and their privileges.
I address, above all, the modest woman of our land, the campesina who believed in us, the worker who labored more, the mother who knew our concern for children. I address professionals of Chile, patriotic professionals, those who days ago continued working against the sedition sponsored by professional associations, class-based associations that also defended the advantages which a capitalist society grants to a few.
I address the youth, those who sang and gave us their joy and their spirit of struggle. I address the man of Chile, the worker, the farmer, the intellectual, those who will be persecuted, because in our country fascism has been already present for many hours -- in terrorist attacks, blowing up the bridges, cutting the railroad tracks, destroying the oil and gas pipelines, in the face of the silence of those who had the obligation to protect them. They were committed. History will judge them.
Surely Radio Magallanes will be silenced, and the calm metal instrument of my voice will no longer reach you. It does not matter. You will continue hearing it. I will always be next to you. At least my memory will be that of a man of dignity who was loyal to the workers.
The people must defend themselves, but they must not sacrifice themselves. The people must not let themselves be destroyed or riddled with bullets, but they cannot be humiliated either.
Workers of my country, I have faith in Chile and its destiny. Other men will overcome this dark and bitter moment when treason seeks to prevail. Go forward knowing that, sooner rather than later, the great avenues will open again where free men will walk to build a better society.
Long live Chile! Long live the people! Long live the workers!
These are my last words, and I am certain that my sacrifice will not be in vain, I am certain that, at the very least, it will be a moral lesson that will punish felony, cowardice, and treason.

"After three previous unsuccessful electoral bids, Dr. Salvador Allende, a public health physician and leader of the Socialist Party, was elected President of Chile on September 4, 1970. Heading the Popular Unity electoral coalition of left-wing political parties, Allende initiated a series of reforms that included nationalizing the country’s copper mines and extending the land reform program of his predecessor Eduardo Frei. The Chilean right wing and the Nixon administration immediately began a campaign to topple the Allende government. U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger initiated an “invisible blockade” that helped wreak havoc on the Chilean economy. Internal opposition to the socialist measures of the Allende government coalesced under the leadership of the military, and on September 11, 1973, General Augusto Pinochet carried out a coup d’état. From the presidential palace, which was being bombarded by the Chilean air force, Allende made a last statement to the country before committing suicide, presumably to avoid the humiliation of being arrested by the military.
