  • Digging a small crawlspace for an addition. This house is getting a complete remodel with all new doors, windows and stone. They are also adding on a master bedroom and bathroom. I didn't get the best footage at the beginning of the job but did a little better when I came back to backfill and add the downspouts. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #crawlspace

Kids love Tractors and will watch all day! I was 7 when the Super Market across the street repaved the Parking Lot I was out there all day:) I even got a ride on the "Steam Roller" that was in the pre OSHA 1980's

Oh yeah I was the same way. One summer when I was 8 or 9 they replace the sewer main by our house I saw in my front yard and watched the whole time.

Well I can tell you as a retired contractor myself there are always days when things get dug up, broke or torn up but it's like you dealt with that big parking area project call back, you just grab it by the horns, fix it and move on. Good work as always. Sounded like you may have needed a tall cool beverage after the first part of video.

I had to pause the video and see how far away Oklahoma was from Joplin. A lot closer than I realized. That looked like a nice area for a home. Interesting video.

Yeah I’m in the very corner of Missouri so I can be in Oklahoma and Kansas in like 10 minutes and Arkansas in about 30

As we've talked about, deeper is ALWAYs better IMHO! It was a little hard to tell from the camera angles, but did they end up going deeper with that basement like you suggested? I hope so for their sake because if not, they'll regret it in the long run. I know that in my case where we have a 4 foot "basement" I've been told by contractors here that in the mid 80's when this house was build they could have gone 3 more feet for only $200 or $300, which has always irritated me no end that the original owner didn't do that. I know it would cost more in today's market but I've always been curious how much more it would cost now for a 36 Sq Ft basement to be 7 feet deep instead of 4 feet deep.

No they left it a crawlspace which is nuts to me. I think the price would have been the same for this crawlspace or a basement just because the additional labor it took the concrete guys to build all the steps in the walls. I’m with you you can never have too much space. That’s crazy how cheap things were back then that would definitely be a no brainer

@@eliteearthworksllc What was I saying!!! Not 36 Sq Ft basement (that would be a tiny basement, LOL) - 36 X 36 Sq foot basement!!!

It appears that the foundation is sitting on top of the landscape block retaining wall, I that right? I have never seen that before

    • @eliteearthworksllc

There is actually a basement wall there and that stone wall comes off the side of the basement. It’s just a wing wall but I think they plan to use it to set some of the new braces for the future floor

That is a thing I don't like people watching me work sometimes it just makes me nervous I was on a job one time running a cat963 and there were bunch of small kids running and playing as I was working it was the customers kids talk about nervous.
