Hey that completely made me have a flashback to a club where Altern8 were doing a live show. That robot was awesome and completely freaked me out in a good off-your-head way. Respect to your brother and may he rest in peace.
I'll be 40 tomorrow I was 15 when this tune came out, I thank god when I was a teenager when I was and the truly epic music that developed during that time. I was able to be a part of something truly special. It's difficult to put into words how innovative those times were. Everything from about 1995 onwards seems to have been a rinse and repeat, but there were some years when what was happening in music was beyond the commercial gain of money or the music business and beyond the long arm of the law, was just an unprecedented wave of something new that nobody could really control. Good times. God I wish I had a fucking time machine. I'd be right back there in an instant. Make a good film!
+steven johnson Funny age being 40..... I remember going out raving back in the day & meeting people who were in there 40's & thinking how cool they were. I hope I have became one of them 40 year olds :)
+steven johnson Could not agree more brother. I was 20, on the dance floor when I first heard this... MASSIVE impact, ...massive, ...Comon' you'All! you know the score
Would love to set up a club night which just played '95 and earlier stuff, for all the 30-40 out there that wanted to relive the best years of this scene
I'm 18 again! I remember leaving a banging night at shelley's and then a truck suddenly appeared in the car park, the side kicks opens and then this drops! Altern 8 live suprise.. OMFG it all kicked off!!! 😊 Still August 2020 what a F Tune! 🎶
was there to. just when you thought it was all over it all kicked off again, until the old bill turned up. then got in my car and drove home without any alcohol in my system your honour
Guys n girls. Just one of many tracks that keeps us in memory field.. Keep loving. Keep dancing. As we said back in the day... Keep it locked. One love...........
Have seen them in the early 90s in Tessera club Athens in a Sunrise Zone party. I had written a letter to them when I was a kid....and they responded...the paper had their A8 logo!! simply mad with A8...nice memories...
What a tune. The video perfectly captures the iconic moment in history when the warehouse/rave scene was what many of us loved being part of. Just need Doc Brown and Marty McFly to pick us up kn the Delorean and whizz back to 1989 and do it all again. And again !
Im 42 and still going raves. Had the pleasure of seeing these P.A. at Shelleys 19/03/16. First time ive seen them since 1991. Amazing set and crowd went off big time. great moment :-D
I was there that night. Everybody Who was part of the crew got a Special 12" of the night Signed by Mark and Chris (Still Have Mine) It was the shoot for the Video for Active 8. If You were there too, You should check out the Video to see If You can see Yourself In It. Top One. Nice One Get Sorted.
Ha ha haaa, I remember requesting this from the DJ at a school disco. I was about 9 years old and had heard my sisters playing it whilst getting ready to go to raves. I remember thinking the DJ must be a right knob-head when he said he didn't have it.
got the vertigo ep on silver vinyl. sounds as good today as back in the day. put it on cassette in my walkman on my bmx on my paper round , the echo [ liverpool] oh the good old days.
Hippy rave in Marlborough after Ektos Aug 91. Two refreshers in and off my nut, this dropped. Blew my mind! Spent the next 6mnts trying to find this tune!
Full on mask hysteria i got it to copy on cassette aged 14 proved one of the game changers that shaped my love of dance music over 30 years later this banger of a tune still slaps
I loved and still love rave music and dancing. I never consumed a single drug apart from perhaps caffeine, painkillers, antibiotics and anesthetic. Music would make me excited 😊
100% agree with that quote I don’t need drugs to lose myself in these 90s bangers not even alcohol I’m still attending retro nights sober! as soon as I hear that music I’m off to another world get me on that dancefloor ❤
I still have this and all the others Signed as they Lived round the corner from Me. What great times they were. We would listen to the Local Pirate radio for the Key Words. Then race out to Hilton Park Services to get the Fliers telling You were the next Rave was going to be. Magic, Will never get those Years back but Will Never forget them nether. Top One, Nice One, Get Sorted.
@Jim Taylor Pity Shelleys has gone now. I remember the night We pulled up on a Arctic at 2 In the morning to do the Shoot for the Active 8 Video. I still have the Special 12" given to the crew of that night, Signed by Mark and Chris. great Days. I'm feeling It now though.
@Jim Taylor It was "Active 8" take a look at the Video and that Is at Shelleys at 2 In the Morning. We parked on Hilton Services to warm everything up (It was freezing that night). Then Drove down to Shelleys, just as they were coming out. We already had a string of cars following us as the word spread. Unforgettable night.
It won't happen again Brothers and Sisters. I sit here at my keyboard and i two finger type with a heavy heart. From Cannock to Stafford to Shelley's carpark i was there. It's 3.30 am and i'm 48 now and high on life and Laphraoig. I'd give it all up today, for one more night in 90~91~92.

What an unbelievable album. I thought it a 12 and I think it at 43. These, the Prodigy of these times, SL2, 808 state... Best and most innovative musical period the UK has ever experienced, well 88-92
There legends. My older brother had there tapes when it came out and it had a luminous yellow mask on at with a capital A. My best track was move my body
@TheEIREGUNNER So yeah, at 14/15 yrs old I was starting to smoke dope, snort/swallow speed, and drop ecstasy! Starting out in my mate's darkened bedroom with our gang, listening to jungle mainly as well as house/acid house/hardcore etc - the lot! We'd all go out to warehouse parties and squat parties around London, Brighton and the SouthEast of England. Sometimes my friend's mum and stepdad would come with us, they were getting out of it as much as we were and/or vice versa!
My brother was the Altern8 robot on stilts !!! RIP❤❤❤
Your brother will forever be part of the legend!
RIP
@@bal289 thanks, Mark archer gave him a good shout out on a recent podcast interview which was really touching.
