Testing the Gumotex Swing 1 Inflatable Kayak

The Gumotex Swing 1-person inflatable kayak had caught my attention for a while, but I hadn't tried it yet. So, it was about time to get my hands on this sporty touring kayak. My initial impression is very positive! I still prefer kayaking in hard-shell (PE) kayaks. It feels the most familiar to me. This Swing almost perfectly captures that feeling and allows for traveling by train or bus without relying on a lot of storage space.

Pros:
* High acceleration speed and excellent maneuverability
* Excellent speed despite its compact length
* High-quality and durable material made of natural rubber and synthetic material without adding PVC
* Stable on-water positioning
* Comfortable seating position
* Easy transport due to low weight and compact storage
* Convenient storage compartments easily accessible via zippers
Cons:
* Insufficient legroom for individuals who are 1.90 meters tall
* Zippers are not waterproof

Das Swing ist wirklich ein tolles und sehr vielseitig einsetzbares Boot. Ich bin echt gerne damit unterwegs und meine Tochter kommt damit auch gut klar. Dann ist allerdings die Finne ein Muss, bzw. neuerdings habe ich eine selbstgebaute Halterung mit einem fixierten Steuerblatt in Verwendung, um die Nachteile der Finne zu umgehen. Komplett ohne war es für meine Tochter (9 Jahre) nicht gut zu händeln, da hat sie sich immer gedreht.

Bist Du mit dem Boot zufrieden? Ich hatte irgendwo gesehen, dass es oben drauf nicht wasserdicht ist. Das würde mich ehrlich gesagt stören. Ich habe die gleiche Größe als Feststoffkajak von Exo und bin sehr zufrieden. Sehr kippstabil und wendig. Beste Grüße Jens
