  • Alice in Wonderland was a two-part film adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice books. An Irwin Allen production, it was a special made for television and used a huge all-star cast of notable actors and actresses.
This is from the second part, where Alice reaches the eighth square and finds her way to her castle. A great feast in her honor takes place, with many of the characters she met previously on her journey joining the festivities.
    "Welcome Queen Alice"
    Music by Steve Allen
    Lyrics by Lewis Carroll
Performed by Red Buttons and Natalie Gregory

This was my favorite version. I grew up on it back in the good ol' 80s.

This Alice in Wonderland is my favourite to. Yes the good old 80's, I watched it so often I wore out the VHS and we had to wait for it to come on TV and record it. Then after not watching it for 22 years I still know it word for word. My long term memory must be superb!

+Eric Grant It came out on DVD in 2006, and was re-released in 2010 with all of the other versions of Alice when the Johnny Depp film came out.

Oh way better cast! It's a veritable "who's who" of 60s-80s TV, pop culture and theater people. It's still my favorite version!

This song is actually taken from Alice Through the Looking-Glass, that other Alice book, with words by the author Lewis Carroll himself. It was originally meant to be a parody of a Scottish national song called "Bonnee Dundee", and to be sung to the actual tune (the tune here is by Steve Allan).

I was 9 when we would watch this everyday with my cousins whom lived with us and my uncle would yell, "Otra vez la pinche tortuga!!". Referring to the mock turtle which I believe was played by ringo.
