  • Kings Lynn is a historic town of about 45,000 people just south of The Wash in west Norfolk. The drive was filmed from 1pm on August 9th 2023. The A148 runs north/south through the town and the drive starts by turning westwards off it into Millfleet by the library. At the roundabout it bears left into Boal Street which becomes South Quay and follows the River Great Ouse northwards. Moving away from the river the road becomes Purfleet Place and we turn left into King Street. This takes us to the Corn Exchange, Tuesday Market Place and St Nicholas Chapel in St Ann's Street. At St Nicholas Street we skip a little eastwards to John Kennedy Road and head back south. This becomes the A148 Blackfriars Road passing Lidl. We bear left but skip southwards again missing out the station to take a detour into Blackfriars Street and Paradise Parade where the end of the pedestrian shopping area can be seen. Finally we start again at the south end of the town passing under South Gate which is virtually unchanged in 500 years and we drive northwards along the A148 almost back to where we started.

This would be great if It was this easy getting through Lynn everyday. But we have endless traffic everywhere . Not to mention all the roadworks to complicate things . We need more roads to deal with the traffic.
