When I hear magic I feel the same like you leaning in my pillow in morning light this song is a tribute to the people in the 1970 that we loved we cry we got lost in our songs to keep the young spirit alive and the charm of the vocals and going to school was nice I live the 60 70 80 90 and still I don’t find the composition like magic seeing millions of guitar players and no one with your voice none of them you deserve to called Sir David Paton your great human being
The songs that David Paton and his band make will always be enjoyable and catchy to hear for decades more. His melody is just so satisfying and makes millions want to dance.
Everytime I hear PILOT, my blood starts to boil, my heart beats faster than anything else. I still love your music! You've always been one of my most favourite bands ever. Well, David, you don't have the same wonderful voice you had in the 70ties, but you're still my idol. However, we both got older together and I'm happy that I found this site with that great song, although I still do love Call me round, Magic, Just a smile and of course January much more. And, Ian, I always wanted to play guitar just like you. I loved your kind of playing with that wonderful gibson with two necks. By gosh, I can't hold back my tears. Now I'm 19 again, back in 1975. I never had the chance to have the same success, and so I remind the best time of my life with your music. Keep on rocking...
one of my favorite Pilot songs, I just love this part "Keep on but not alone, keep the flags flying at home, Keep on but not alone, how I long to get back home "

I am brazilian and I am a huge fan of Ian Bairnson and David Paton's work. I love Pilot's songs, but I admire the individual talent of its two co-founders in other projects, as Alan Parsons Project. In 1995, I had a little conversation with Ian after the APP's show in Rio de Janeiro. I told him he was my favorite guitar player in the world and he still is. Congratulations for you both to give us a little more of Pilot in these homemade vídeos. The quality of them is excellent! An embrace! Silvio.
What a brilliant song, the lyrics came to him he says whilst walking to the recording studio as he didn't have a penny in his pocket , seen pilot back in 1974 at Liverpool Empire backing up Sparks ( who picked Pilot after impressing them as fantastic musicians with great songs as Russell said ) and Pilot where way better by the way for the reasons given by Sparks . If they had jibbed it to California ( as per their song ... maybe ? ) and toured America in 1974 they would have been on Steely Dan like status to this day, again down to plenty of dishonest band managers nevertheless DP & IB went on to be very successful session musicians and still are working today thankfully . Pilot and DP inspired me and many many bands, singer/guitarist, musicians through them short years of 1974 to 1978 so thank you very much for the upload Dave . The one thing I'll never forget as a 14yr old aspiring musician hellbent on the influence of the great Dave The Rave Pilot style of music is I'll never forget how happy you looked BEING a musician on stage. Ps it would be fantastic if you could do a full virtual band gig on RUclips even pay per view but at 1974 Liverpool Empire ticket fee price of £3 .00 . as we know the serious fans and musicians would gladly pay to see Pilot reform , just dont invite the 2 keyboard players from that telivised pop gig in 76 where they wore embarrassing ridiculous clothing which in turn forced every single Scotsman to Deny they where a Pilot fan ever in their lives ! .. Anyway Dave please take my idea seriously as youd only be practicing like you normally do with Ian, the box of toys and the great girl backing singer, after all what else can you do in the Pandemic you cant just pack in !!! nevertheless I'm looking forward to hearing your future work thanks again Dave. Ps agen .. Doesn't Ian B put the likes of slash etc and all that Bill & Ted crap thrash to shame with a Les Paul playing R&B style with boss melody line and riff runs 🙋♂️....
Amazing guys. I'm glad you two are still together after all this time, thru Pilot and Alan Parson Project, and here you are still together. Thats awesome.
Great stuff guys. So pleased to see you both playing again. Don't forget to bring Pilot to somewhere near Berkshire, UK in 2014. (I'm sure that you both have fond memories of living here). I look forward to seeing Pilot in concert again - it'll be the first time since May 1975 !!!
Please come to Japan again. Love to see your gig. 2 weeks ago, my friend introduced me to "55°North, 3°West " and I was really knocked out!!!!!!! Since then, I have been enjoying Pilot’s works and wanting to know your music more. I think “Two's a Crowd” is especially a good one and it makes me feel like I'm having “a great meal.” I think your music is like a healthy meal for body and soul. When I listen to it, I feel like I’m filled with goodness all inside of me. Unfortunately, I have missed your 2007 show in Japan, and would be so happy if you come again.
You guys are killer! I didn't realize at first that you were professionals...but now it makes a bit more sense. I went and looked up some of your songs from the 70s, and they are fantastic as well. Feel free to come to New Hampshire USA...I'll come out and see you play!
I forgot.I also hope that you guys get a chance to release a full live concert and put it out onto DVD as well.Been wanting to get any Pilot concert from the past on DVD.
I loved Morin Heights. Every song was a winner. But I particularly liked this track because Ian completely wrung his guitar by the neck. So brilliant to see you both playing together again, and many thanks for posting this and bringing back great memories.
Great studio redo of this one of Pilot's best songs! I just wish the volume on the guitar solo parts weren't so low. Ian just has the most incredible Brian May tone and he doesn't even use a Red Special.
Hey guys I'm so happy to find you here. (Sorry that I was looking but now!) I was growing up in the GDR (East Germany) in the Seventies and was about fifteen when I heard your wonderful song "January". From the first moment I loved the beautiful and elegant chords, the melody, the vocal settings and the sound. It was like no other's. Later came "Magic" and "Canada" which I appreciated, too. I guess you know, the only normally possible source to hear Pop and Rock from UK, US and other western countries beyond the Iron Curtain was the radio. There where very rare chances to get an album. So these three songs were until today my only treasure of Pilot songs. Don't ask me why I not sooner got the idea to look here at YT! ;-) But better late than never. Now I found a lot of all your other stuff and I'm so glad. Thank you very much for your wonderful songs which have a place in my mind and heart for ever. Maybe I should mention that I play guitar since that time as a teenager and meanwhile played a lot pieces of all those great idols. And if I didn’t played them (because I came to my limits of skills) so I listened to a pile of them. So I really know to appreciate your elegant songs. They’re always composed with passion and arranged very fine, and I really love Ian’s playing and the tone/sound of the guitar. I wish you all the best. Take care! And I will keep an eye (or better an ear) on your work furthermore.
Hey David and Ian.Hope that you guys along with Stuart Tosh get a chance to tour the USA as well when you promote the 40th anniversary.I can't wait to see you guys play over here.Hope you come to South Florida too which is where I live?
I'll be in Scotland for the first time the 2nd last week of Aug 2014. Can you please be in Edinburgh for then?? Otherwise come to Toronto!! Just "discovered" Pilot last year so I'm really excited to see you!!
P.S. It's always amazed me that your guitar player looks and sounds like Brian May from Queen but without the big curly afro. He's probably one of the most under rated guitar players ever!
How come Pilot have never been asked to do the Edinburgh Hogmanay concert (big stage concert on Princes Street around midnight)? You mostly came from here and you even had a number one called "January"!
Rest In Peace Ian.
Thanks for all the music. 🙏
I have only just discovered "Two's a Crowd" album, it is so good, very Beatles sounding, it only took me 47 years!
One of my favorites! Still love David’s voice, eyes, and smile! David’s facial expressions still make me melt! 😍
David and Ian,absolute fantastic combination. Both complement each other so well.
David Paton is a great bass player. Ian Bairnson's guitar play is unique. Great musicians.
Ian Bairnson is one of the best lead guitarists! Very under-rated player, awesome playing that’s hard to emulate.
When I hear magic I feel the same like you leaning in my pillow in morning light this song is a tribute to the people in the 1970 that we loved we cry we got lost in our songs to keep the young spirit alive and the charm of the vocals and going to school was nice I live the 60 70 80 90 and still I don’t find the composition like magic seeing millions of guitar players and no one with your voice none of them you deserve to called Sir David Paton your great human being
The genius of the late Ian Bairnson. What a guitarist ❤
THESE GUYS ARE VERY GOOD !!! JUST THE TWO PLAYING GUITARS AND SINGING IS JUST VIBRANT AND GREAT !!
The songs that David Paton and his band make will always be enjoyable and catchy to hear for decades more. His melody is just so satisfying and makes millions want to dance.
Thanks for your music Mr. Paton

Nice music!
Ian Bairnson is my favorite guitar player. Brian May is my second favorite. Both play with melody in mind.
Wonderful song and recorded live on my birthday! And Noel Gallagher/ JFK! May 29th!

Bairnson is damned good
David, you look a bit like Rick Derringer here! Always loved this song. You sound great! Ian too!
Come to Slovakia...!
P.S, One of my fav song by you because it sounds like something the Beatles would have done if they had Brian May play guitar. Top notch!
Fantastic to see you both! Gawd this sounds so good!
The song is still catchy! Could be the theme of a modern gangster-heist-coup-picture...
U but if not ill come to england for it!
P.S. It's always amazed me that your guitar player looks and sounds like Brian May from Queen but without the big curly afro. He's probably one of the most under rated guitar players ever!
Fantastic news gents.

Goot song

Phenomenal!!!!
Thanks Guys.
