Great video! I always thought taro needed soggy wet soil to be happy. Should point out how to distinguish taro which is edible from elephant ear which is toxic and very similar in appearance to taro. With taro the petiole attaches to the underside of the heart shaped leaf, with elephant ear the petiole attaches to the "V"part of the heart shaped leaf. Wouldn't want anyone to confuse the two plants.

Why would you cut the roots off and then grow them back in water? Couldn't you just divide them up and plant with the roots

It seems like there's no need to cut off the roots at the beginning because you literally just rooted that same whole stalk after cutting off the roots a few days earlier
So in essence , this video seems to be saying to dig up the plant, and replant it in another spot
