Thanks for the review! I've had these diapers on my registry because I love the look of them and that they're one of the few all natural/organic cloth diaper options (without being prefolds, yikes!), but have been waffling on them since they're still new and few reviews out there. You've confirmed my days of research to stick with them. Have you figured out a new laundry soap that you prefer? I had theirs on my registry as well, I mean they started as a diaper laundry company so I thought it would be fabulous, but doesn't seem to be the case.
Yes do it! They are great diapers! I actually have a video half made for my new laundry routine 🤦🏼♀️ but I’ve been using Aldi’s brand of free and clear liquid detergent and I’m so happy with it! I’ll get that other video up one of these days!
I've heard the Everyday Balm is great as a nipple cream for breastfeeding, which made me more interested in getting it. The case for it for the baby seems to be an extra prevention measure to make diaper rash or skin breakdown less likely, but yeah if your baby isn't getting any skin issues in the first place, why bother? Good to hear that seems to be the case for you at least.
Hey! Yes, it would work well as a nipple ointment, I found it is literally an “everyday” ointment- we use it on sunburns, chapped lips, bootys- it’s moisturizing while still being thick enough to protect. The Burt’s bees ointment is almost the exact same, but has an added fragrance.
Thank you for your honesty. I am looking into this brand for my baby due in April. I bought a couple of pocket diapers but I feel like they will be a little harder to explain to my husband and child care providers to explain. Also I was laughing at your pets. It reminds me of my house. Haha
Hey! I considered pocket diapers too, but steered away from them for the same reason. I knew if I wanted cloth diapering to be a success I had to make it as easy as possible for everyone involved!
Oh one other question - what dollar store did you find the agitator balls at? I haven't actually seen any. I looked on Amazon and found a couple agitator ball sets slightly cheaper than Esembly's but not by that much.
I’m going to guess it was dollar general since that was the one closest to our house- it’s been a few years ago though and they might have been part of a seasonal section, I honestly can’t remember 😅 and prices have changed A LOT since then, I wouldn’t be shocked if they are way more now unfortunately
@@jenellezehrung1826 Makes sense. I put in my Esembly order today and went ahead and got them bc the cheapest alternatives I could find were still $10 and had poorer reviews.
Thank you for your honest, helpful and realistic review. Did I forget to add amusing? One question though, do you think it would clean better if the diapers were pre-rinced after usage/ before washing? Or do I have unrealistic expectations?
Hey! So I’ve been saying for months I need to make some follow up videos 😅 but typically you do 2 washes, the first wash is your hottest and shortest setting in the washer, then the second wash I do the longest setting on warm. Once baby starts eating solids more than formula/breast milk it kinda changes to what you need. If the poops are all pretty solid and easily removed I just do one wash, if not, I still do 2 washes. Every 3-4 months I “strip” the diapers with a diaper-stripping product I get on Amazon. The diapers will be stained on the inside no matter what though- it is what it is 😅
Thanks for your honest review! I have some size 1's and 2's in my cart right now but I think I will remove the washing powder! I know it is different for every baby, but what age did you have to move up to the size 2?
Hey! I saw they have 25% off right now, that’s probably the best deal you’ll find! My daughter is a chunk and 17 lbs at 6.5 months, so that’s when we switched
@@jenellezehrung1826 yes the current sale is amazing! I'm actually not due til September, so baby will be about 7 months next year around this time of year. So I'm thinking I'll focus on size 1 for now!
I bought the Esembly system also but my son won’t be born until next month, thank you for the honest review, it was very helpful. Do you rinse your diapers at all before you wash them? I’ve heard mixed answers
Thank you so much for your review! It's important to note the fact that the detergent is lacking. I would hate to not have properly washed diapers. Just thinking about it makes me cringe a bit lol Thanks again!!
Thank you so much for this honest review! We are planning to use cloth diapers with our baby due in May and I have a friend who uses Esembly so we decided to go with them too. But, I've been questioning the laundry detergent as well (the math didn't add up for me either so I'm glad I'm not the only one!) so hearing that you've been loving the system and are finding another detergent to use makes me hopeful that if their detergent doesn't seem like the best fit, I'll be able to find something else to work! Thanks again :)
Yes! I’ve landed on tide free and clear after trying some other detergents. I’m a huge fan of Aldi and use their version (Tandil), it works just as well.
Could I use the esemblybaby system but use some NORA covers? I love the concept and reviews of esemblybaby but have to admit I like some of the NORA prints better
Yes I believe you could! I just looked at their website and any cover like that will work. I have a couple thirsties covers and the Nora’s nursery ones look very similar to those.
The only time I had issues with leaking is when she was like 16lbs and just about to switch to the second size. It was mostly at night because the diapers were too small for the amount she peed at night (she sleeps 8+hours straight). I’ve never used the extra liners, but after like 2 weeks I switched her to the next size and we haven’t had issues. I will say there have been ZERO poopy blowouts! I haven’t had to change a single outfit with poo on it 😆
I didn’t for the first week, someone had gifted me a big package of newborn diapers so we used those. Honestly I was so tired that I’m glad I didn’t, no laundry was done that first week home 😅 my daughter was 7lbs 4oz when we started using the cloth diapers and they fit fine on the smallest settings. If we didn’t already have the newborn disposable diapers, I would have used the Esembly ones right away. Other brands make “newborn” cloth diapers, but unless your baby is under 7lbs you should be fine!
Hey! On Instagram there are a lot more pictures of babies in the diapers. Personally, I’m not comfortable sharing videos of my baby in just a diaper 🤷🏼♀️ There is a lot of elastic around the waist and legs so my experience is the diapers have always been accommodating to her size.
@@Lopez-li6hz yes purely out of frustration, I now have a 9 month old and wanted to cloth diaper so badly, however over $2000 and 7 brands later i have given up.Good for those who could make work for them . As much as I dislike paper diapers I now cannot encourage othe to try cloth.

Hey everyone! I made a “1 year later” review with the products I ended up using, a few hiccups along the way, and how the cloth diapers have held up!
Thank you for making this review - super helpful! I’m planning to cloth diaper when our baby is born this winter, and have been looking at Esembly. 🙂✨
Good luck! Cloth diapering is worth the investment!

You’re welcome! I actually made a “one year later” video about how it went. I definitely recommend these diapers still!

Yes! Run them through the wash/dryer at least once. The more you wash them the more quickly absorbent they get!
You are adorable and this was really helpful! Thank you!
Thank you ☺️

Absolutely! It definitely wasn’t my favorite. And there’s nothing worse than having diapers come out dirty still 🥴
I love your review on here. What kind of solution are you using what's the name brand?
I have been using the “free and clear” liquid detergent from aldi, the brand is Tandil. It’s the same as Tide free and clear, just cheaper 😆
how many inners and outers would you recommend for the various baby stages? doing research for my sister!
Hey!
I would not get less than 24 inners of both sizes and 6 outers for each size. This amount means you will be washing every 2-3 days.
Thank you! I pretty much just put the diapers and wipes on my registry and was kinda worried about not using the detergent 😅
Oh yes, just skip it 😅 I used tide Free and Clear. I like it ALOT more! I’ll try to post a laundering video this week.

I bet that black people use that everyday balm everyday, We use Shea butters, coconut oil on our while body, that is why we stay looking younger
