Great review Kat! We downsized from a 7.4m long motorhome to a 6.4m campervan, as we enjoy getting to more remote areas that the MH was just too long and wide. No regrets whatsoever 😀
Hi, I've had campervans for the last forty years and I now have a seven meter motor home, now I have experienced the luxury and space it would be difficult to go back to a small panel van type conversion. It's so nice to have a proper shower and toilet mainly, and having a lounge area for the evening really makes it, even for just a week away. Thanks for doing the videos, U.K.
We are looking for an occasional van to be able to go camping or stay in cottages with the kids and definitely want a reasonable bit of room but because of medical reasons a decent bog is a must and most campervans dont have one although we could self build, it would be a great project. The access to our parking also isn’t the best and a camper van would be easier. I agree with the comment about driving and maneuvering them - it’s a whole different ball game if you have never been used to van size transport, I have and it definitely takes a while to acquire those skills. My son has a van and uses an add on tent that is really useful and more than doubles their room.
Studland ferry charge £5.00 for car/light van with most camper vans (up to 3500kg max operating weight) minibuses up to 17 seats. Anything above that is £10.00
Big decider is “ can the potential owner drive a certain size vehicle safely”. Some shouldn’t be driving either of these vehicles. I’m amazed how vans cost so much compared to the compromises they have. Personal choice but always remember the first one you buy will be the wrong choice.😷
Perhaps it not so much as motorhome or campervan, but what are the most important features / characteristics that I need (or think I will need)? Ultimately I will need to may a compromise somewhere... Small size for whipping round Yorkshire Dales narrow lanes and through gates, Standing Room, Fixed bed or not....? Think I just need to draw myself up a big list based on your video / experience, rank / the characteristics and then find a vehicle that best fits these... We find ourselves in the position of looking for either a large campervan or smaller motorhome... :-/

Depends if you put thinking you look cool over all practical considerations.
