Absolutely love this message! But can someone explain the word of faith portion? That keeps sticking out in my head when he mentions that.
Love it, too. Word of faith is more charismatic that emphasizes the gifts of the Holy Spirit like Words of Wisdom and Words of Knowledge. So, basically in Pastor's seminary teaching, they either didn't teach or emphasize on hearing a word from the Lord and sharing that Word.
@@zmoney_man1095 but it's also probably one of the more corrupt theologies that exists. I've never heard of anything positive in relation to word of faith ministry, which is why it came to my attention. Had he not said that I might not have even considered it but, at least as far as I know and have heard and have read, not to mention lived through, I don't really have much positive to say about word of faith ministry.
It always makes my skin crawl when someone says they heard or got a word from the Lord, oftentimes because the next thing I hear doesn't necessarily sound or seen biblical. And so we're taught to test every spirit, but in my opinion, I would rather just said I had something in my spirit or I had a thought about something. I'd be very cautious in stating that it came from the Lord.
It just didn't sit with me well. I am very much against prosperity gospel and I think most people are.
Yes, Pastor Conway was referring to the fact that we have a little conservative leaning theology, and that he also now has friends in the more charismatic leaning theology, and that although we might not believe every single thing they believe, we still value the fact that they are spirit led and are grateful their contribution to our faith. Hope this helps a little with that part of the sermon.

My family left the word of faith ministry because of their decidedly unbiblical stances on a lot of things, so imagine my surprise when I heard it in a sermon, you know what I mean 😊. It's just something that really flashed out at me but thanks for your response though!
