Aceyfacey, I have used orca for mining a LOT. PLEASE never fight or try to get killmarks like you mentioned you were thinking of doing on anything EVER when flying the orca. Also, please get that Gila out of the ship bay too. Orcas do get ganked but usually, they are baited. I have seen a few people lose their orcas and it's always big sad. I haven't lost one yet (knock on wood). Also, I LOVE THAT YOU'RE FLYING THE ORCA. Please more videos with orca and watching others get ganked
Gosh, how I loved sitting around a moon chunk with my Orca and just mine away... It can be such a relaxing experience! The Ganks are annoying, but they are not difficult to see coming! The issue is that either the guys doing the mining are ignorant about game mechanics and technics to avoid gank OR are simply AFK :(
You can't really avoid a gank, but you can dramatically increase your chances of survival. I wish ZKill boards kept track of the times where you survive a gank, to see the cost the attacking players are spending to a failed attempt. I actually looked this kill up on ZKill, and he had a terrible fit. He took like 21K damage only when the Proc could be up to 30K+ easily.
I use an Orca as a mobile base. I play solo, so it's awesome. If i feel a area is getting crowded i just jump to a new area. I got 5 different ships i use for explo, combat, escalation farming, gas huffing and filaments. It's perfect. Only annoying thing is you need to jump back to Jita to buy upgrades or sell so i usually just make a daily trip in a fast ship.
actually you dont have to let it cycle at all, just turn the 500 mwd on and off and the orca will be off in about 12 seconds. you dont have to let it cycle it happens all by iteslf.
Even if the title wouldent have spoiled the gank, it was almost guaranteed to happen if u broadcast that a boost is available in local. Even if the gankers cant target u its gonna draw in some easier targets for sure. I wouldent think that experianced miners would fall for this but has there ever been a popular trend going on where miners connected to gank fleets have offered boosts to random ppl in local or the fleet up system and the gankers just sit and wait untill enough ships have joined in on the mining and then they just jump in and attack the prey?
I was mining with an orca on a moon when the orca next to me was attacked and blown up in under a minute, i found out later the owner was in a corp that was at war. still shocking to watch.
Usually it's tight on fittings, I have a medium remote shield booster on mine and that's after getting better skills, as I was originally using a small (which isn't enough).
Been thinking of starting game. Watched all your tutorial vids. Thinking if joining brave empire, maybe University first. Just wanted to know how interesting is content with the war and the revenge of goons coming
every pilot matters , but to start this game and jump directly into null without a basic knowledge of how the game works or what you wanna do in the game , i wouldnt recommend that. start of the game , try out a few things you think you might like , find something and focus on that , then join a corp in null. if you get past the first 3 months , you will be here for a long time , with brakes. I have given my friend this advice : try the game as alpha , find something you like , ships you wanna fly , weapons systems you wanna use , even a career you like most , be it industry , pve , pvp , then go omega for a year , fill your skill queue with the magic 14 ( look it up on eve university ) and with the skills and ships you wanna fly and come back to the game in a year and start properly playing it. He did just that and thanked me the other day cause he is having more fun now then he was when he could not fly what he wanted. Eve is hard to get into but once you are in there is no game like it anywhere , i guarantee it.
@@Ozac123 yeah I'm thinking eve University first, they seem to be a reccomended guild to learn and get good. Then after a month or two I'll see what to do
As Gert said, if you're looking to join Brave I'd definitely say join Empire first. I was in Empire for a bit because I didn't want to just dive head first into null 3 days after starting the game, but eventually I found myself enjoying the null gameplay, so I joined into Brave Newbies after being in Empire for about a month. Now that the war is "over" you can participate in most of the stuff Brave does in null from empire too. You don't really need to deal with things like not being able to join certain fleets since you didn't have access to the comms or stuff like that. Plus you don't have to deal with war declarations in high sec space.
Ever try a higs anchor rig on your industrial? I saw a video on it and I was like "oh that's actually kinda cool", it makes turning/aligning a little easier, and since it lowers your max speed, you can go to warp a little bit faster, plus you can be aligned to your warp out and be moving much slower so you can escape faster
The better objective is to use the base low speed to fly along past the ore/ice. Being aligned to a distance spot, if you see arrivals on the belt or d-scan you have the ability to immediately warp out. Most miners just prefer to be stationary still which makes for a sitting duck target.
Ice isn't really like ore. If someone has a home in a system that gets ice belts, you can be certain that same someone has a bunch of friends that want to protect it! Great vid as always, always find watching relaxing, no matter what the activity. Do you do any fleet stuff with viewers?
go on sisi and fit up a orca with 2 dda II in the bottom and augmented hammer heads. go to null sec gurrista space and warp into a sanctum at 60k. turn on industrial core and watch the hammerheads kick the shit out of that sanctum. make sure you have a drone link augmenter with tracking script. my orca sits at 1217 dps and kicks the shit out of sanctums. i was laughing my ass off when we tried it. in our magnetar, it has over 1700 dps. disgusting.
I do this to relax… a few moments later - gank 🙃. This is EVE.

Fifty jumps in anything but a shuttle let alone an orca is horrific.
I hope you recover from these great losses. Great vid as well! :D
lol you're mining ice in caldari high sec, literally surrounded by code alts

procurers can have a pretty heavy tank that will give Concord time to arrive. Heck I used to hunt trigs with one. Small trigs of course.
Aceface to jump faster with a orca use the mwd trick 1 cycle of your mwd gives you the speed to warp it is a lot faster then normal warp
Thank you, that align was painful to watch

"I hope he is 🛡️-tanked"
You better hope it was hull tanked, because that's the only way to fit orcas, procs and porpoises :3
Why not both? :D

Oh, Gosalav. That's where we mine ICE! :) Nice one! :D
i can feel for that procurer!

Oh hey! I mine in Outuni all the time when I'm mining aswell!
Why the Berghest didn't shoot down the gankers?? Where they AFK???
Sorry for their loss.
Geminate isn't 50 jumps from the Forge. It's between Caldari and Minmatar on the map. Check your avoidance list
minmatar space is, where empire is located
I don’t know how you do it. I’m more on edge if I try to mine than anything else in-game…. We’ll, not station spinning, but ya know what I mean.
Large Remote Shield Booster II is there reason why doesent ppl use these in orcas?
Usually it's tight on fittings, I have a medium remote shield booster on mine and that's after getting better skills, as I was originally using a small (which isn't enough).
The only case it's useful is to rep your barge if it's getting ganked but a lot of the time the reps will only make the inevitable take longer

Put the entire CODE. alliance on red and you'll get a heads-up on them when they entered the system
@@vodyanifox6704 the same. Just kill them all, put their CODE. and safety. along to Terrible standing
@Hanoifilms right click on CODE. (alliance) -> Add Contact -> Terrible (red) -> OK
Do the same to Safety. and their buddies, too
@@cabalmaster7n You can join the ganker list channel and just red every corp on the list
12:00 to cut to the chase. no he doesn't lose both an orca and a procurer. just some other guy
never said it was mine

Do you do any fleet stuff with viewers?
Thanks dude ;) unfortunately no I really dont have the energy to manage those kinds of things :P
orca adventures yeah
Only 1 drone?
yeah seems like the bandwidth is only enough for 1
@@Aceyface did they finally nerf the Orca? Or is it the drone bandwidth that's high?
Ice harvesting drones just have giant bandwidth requirement. The yield reflects that
well, you can have a jump-clone in your corp HQ, you know )))
that bumping trick only works when afk and then you should lose your drones cause a game is not ment to be afk cause why play it in the first place...
Weird, u to a stranger giving boost, but my old corp stop giving boost as soon as I have 2 accounts
XD
please, continue to overcharge ppl in the Forge to keep other region safe for mining :)

clearly you didn't watch the video
thumbs up if during the video, you tried to click and drag the screen to change your view and ended up pausing the video...
Who is mining in a procurer have to be ganked. thats it
Pay me for permit and I allow you to mine ICE in your choosing region. I will even protect your farm-fleet.
Prices 50M / month or 20M / week
Tsk tsk….. Did somebody forget to buy a permit from the Empress of Highsec? Prsise Aiko!!! o//
