Great detailed video on volume profile. Your video is the best I have seen in the past 3 years about volume profile. I only used it until today as Support and Resistance. I also had it setup up/down volume and not a total volume, and Ticks per row instead of Volume per row. These settings finally make sense and are useful. I have never seen someone use it to trade live intaday other than for validation/confirmation for S/R. I wonder who invented on the volume profile... There aren't any good books out there for sure. PS You should write a book Thank you
i just decided to try using the market profile today I think it might be the missing piece of my trading method. hearing him talk about it the way he is makes me feel more convinced of that. after watching a few videos and doing a little back testing I just keep thinking why the hell havent I been using this all along. its like I am seeing the same things I always see but much clearer and with more conviction. i think that the more experienced you are with technical analysis the more the market profile will just click because you have been seeing it in the price action it just wasnt up on the chart.

Sometimes I also check one month to see either POC is created lower the current price, it gives me signal that buying is coming and I can take my short position/swing trade and if price continues to rise as well POC, that is a bullish signal. I set my stop losses accordingly. If you are looking for intraday, I use 1 minute and 3 minutes. Although I am not a day trader. Thank you.

I use the profile to see where are the position piling up for the forex and the precious metals before the 9:00 a.m. New york stampede I put my position in the direction that the moving averages sequence are telling me and I put a stop order on the other side of the pill in case the market decides to go in the opposite direction.
I would say that's a very stupid and ignorant comment. I'll tell you what, you pull up a chart and draw your fair-value gaps and orderblocks. Then add the volume profile to the chart and make the value of your VP around 200. Then tell me what you see.

I have a demo and live account with FXCM, so theoretically I can trade from inside tradingview without to switch forth and back. I have generated API from FXCM, then input REST API in tradingview's Brocker connection menu, to connect FXCM and trading view. All successful, but when I try to use Volume profile/ Session view I have got "study_not_auth", nothing else show on chart. How can we fix this fault, please?
You have to download my file to your Sierra chart data folder. Make sure it’s saved as a .CHT. Go to Sierra charts and it should be an option to open 👍🏼 There will be detailed step by step instructions on Sierras website if you search.

on the video at 22 mins where u use again Brent and it opens up in a strong trend .. when and where do you enter a position? You see the prices going up and volume increasing and then POC follows but when do you get on board?
This will depend on the product you are trading. If you are watching crude I have a great play based on the .50 pullback. Use that for information only and do your own research. When we open in a drive on CL the 50% happens frequently. I wait for the pullback and grab it. Very simple, very powerful 👍🏼
I believe since the VP develops with price, using developing VP to define entry/exit levels is not really possible. Until the VP is closed (end of session) you cannot really say where the VA is, where the VAL/H is. It can change within one move. Post videos with live trading to prove thr system. Analyzing it retrospectively does not bring value. Thx

Thanks..... but when try.... find a big problem..... depende of the number bars set up to get the 70% volume..... the area move a lot, so the target area to expect that price will move inside is complete difference....... have you pay attention about it?. How you resolve it?
The larger a profile is, the more weight the value area will hold. I.e. if I’m looking at a daily profile that starts at 9:30 am by 11:00 am it’s only been around for 90 minutes. I will not put much weight on that value area. If your value area is changing fast and often, you more than likely need to expand the time or amount of bars that the profile includes. This will add addition volume to the profile and you can put more weight on it

Yes, there are many platforms that offer. Volume Profile. It might be called something different like “Volume at Price” or maybe smart edge doesn’t offer, but many do. 👍🏼
I started to follow your videos. I'm a novice trader compared with you only but for cryptos. I saw you like that sector too. The volume profile can be used on any time frame! I would recommend using a higher time frame, middle and lower time frame for the best analysis. Maybe Daily, 15 Minute and a 1-3 minute chart for entries!

ICT says not to trade volume profile because volume can be spoofed. It's much better to use Fair Value Gaps and order blocks. What your your thoughts?

I would be cautious of getting in around the middle of Value on those less direction days.

You can't, which is why I prefer trading the futures markets.

Thanks..... but when try.... find a big problem..... depende of the number bars set up to get the 70% volume..... the area move a lot, so the target area to expect that price will move inside is complete difference....... have you pay attention about it?. How you resolve it?
The larger a profile is, the more weight the value area will hold.
I.e. if I’m looking at a daily profile that starts at 9:30 am by 11:00 am it’s only been around for 90 minutes. I will not put much weight on that value area.
If your value area is changing fast and often, you more than likely need to expand the time or amount of bars that the profile includes. This will add addition volume to the profile and you can put more weight on it

Yes, there are many platforms that offer. Volume Profile. It might be called something different like “Volume at Price” or maybe smart edge doesn’t offer, but many do. 👍🏼

I started to follow your videos. I'm a novice trader compared with you only but for cryptos. I saw you like that sector too. However for 24/7 markets there are no opening ours and understanding how the day will go. I do believe like you that markets is a gigantic auction house and volume shows many hidden factors. I try to use Renko's to filter noise and apply ATR and Volume Profile together with Weis theory. So far i have a lot to cover. Do you have something to suggest based on all these ?

There is a Volume Profile Study in TOS - Think Or Swim. Do you have example of how to configure it?

what time frame
The volume profile can be used on any time frame! I would recommend using a higher time frame, middle and lower time frame for the best analysis. Maybe Daily, 15 Minute and a 1-3 minute chart for entries!
