Hello Dan, welcome to 2025 🌱 patiently waiting for spring time!!
Great to see you back Dan. Spring is definitely just around the corner now!
Really good to see you back on the green stuff Dan.
@@RegSchmo good to be back, thanks for the message
Nice job Dan!!
Thank the Good Lord you’re back Britney!
Hope you’ve had a good Xmas and New Year!

@ bloody hell mate!
Genuinely thought you’d been in Thailand or somewhere warm!
Stay strong mate, we need the messiah of turf this year!
🙏🏼👏
Just what I needed to see as I look out the window and see my flooded lawn 😂
Brilliant to see you back big man. Agree perfect timing too as I am going to put a wee drain in between my back lawn and flower bed, horrendous water retention over the past few months. I am looking forward to this season.
@@OorOaksey hope this vid helps
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert It absolutely will thanks for sharing Dan.
Dans back, roll on spring!
Welcome back Dan. Still havent had chance to get some lawn weed killer down before a reseed. Either been too windy, wet or snowy. Grass looking very thin so plenty of room for the weeds… it is what it is!
Still plenty of time to get your weed killer down dude 👌
Three months to wear off will take it to may for a reseed. Just not had the weather at weekends when I only have chance. 👍 Will try this weekend 🤞
Perfect timing Dan, I am just doing exactly the same with my lawn at the moment - thanks for the great tips!! Best Wishes for the coming season
@@brettconway1378 Hi Brett i made it specially for you lol
Brilliant Dan, definitely need to try this, keep doing what you do, educating people!! Happy new lawn season 😅
Great Work Bud 👍👍Love the boards protecting your lovely lawn 👍👍
good to see you back, won't be long until 50K subs.
@@xscreamsuk hopefully , been losing subs since october lol
Happy New Year. Looking forward to more videos in 2025!
The boards are a good idea even if they might give in to the weather at some time. When I did my garden last year it spread my weight without killing the grass with heel divots whilst doing some serious digging. They also served as a place to spade mix mortar/concrete for sleeper bedding. also good for access to bedding and borders whilst weather is rubbish.
@Stormin_Mike exactly dont want thick pieces as too heavy to move but if its a long job might be worthwhile but for this job the 5mm plywood was ideal

Welcome back Dan, another great job completed. I've missed you during the winter. My lawn is sopping wet and balding where I keep walking on it. When can I start the repair?
@@MaxineChambers-y5o hi thanks good to be back, if your seeding then its way off yet
Great to see you back Dan! And loving the instrumental making a comeback in your videos, wasn’t too sure about the full songs last year.
Never looked up this kind of work before but I was assuming you’d drill some holes in the pipe so water would drip into the pipe. Would that make drainage too fast and risk drying out the lawn?
@@philscrase theres holes in the pipe already little like lollypipe stick sized slits maybe bit smaller
Nice result on Tuesday Dan - I was in the away end UTC
@@Lewis-r1e4r you played well, did your guy have 2-1 at HT on his betting slip?
Glad to see you back Dan. My garden is just mush in parts. Still putting Drainage in a bag on and Dan's winter magic, but it is really boggy. Doesn't help that a neighbour is pumping rain water under a fence and through everyone's garden down the side. 😤
@@elisabethhopson5639 nightmare, it will be doing something just gotta wait for it to get a little warmer
It's not legal to push water onto another property - "In the UK, it is generally not legal to deliberately direct drainage from your property onto your neighbor's land, especially if it causes damage or inconvenience, as the principle is to manage water drainage in a reasonable way that doesn't harm neighboring properties; this falls under the "Flood and Water Management Act 2010" legislation".
@ good to know, im diverting water into a drain on my customers property which drains into the mains. So not sure what your sending that message for
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Sorry, meant to tag @elisabethhopson5639 not yourself. It was about the water under the fence.
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert read the original post, he's responding to that person and their issue
well that was timely. I am just planning my spring lawn renovation after the winter torrents and lots of dog wee has absolutely wrecked the lawn!
New garden season about to start, and a new manager at BWFC 🤞😂
@@markrobinson1458 yes looking forward to it and bwfc
Was there any reason for not wrapping the pipe in geotex to help keep mud from filtering into it?
@@TheRealCAPerry could do but i need this water down and away wrapping in pipe is hard work as it hard to cut a length straight and wrap round, did that in the back in 2000
Dan, what is the music you play in your videos? It’s very relaxing and a great addition to your videos.

@ thanks Dan.
Heya Dan, I have a question but not related to this video😅I live in Ireland and in December we moved house and it has a nice yard but the lawn is very moss infested and spongey. I took out a grass sample and is has about 3inches of thatch. I plan to dethatch the lawn late march and oversee. Now my question is can I use fleece instead of topsoil once I've overseeded and worked the seed into the lawn?
@@brandonboshoff9566 yeah it works just gotta wait till temps are up to minimum of 10 in the night
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert OK great, that's what I was hoping for, thanks for the advice and keep up the great work with your videos👍
What make and model, was that yellow sprayer you were using please ?
@@SeanMoore2008 its on my website link to that in description i stock them
Now
That's a job on my list where my garage and lawn meet.
@@cypeman8037 yeah will work a treat
Hi Dan, Should all the pipework not be wrapped in the fleece ? To stop the holes in the pipe getting blocked up ?
@@stephenfairweather7219 if the drain is done properly with the correct layers of particle size going back on top with the addition of fleece between the soil and gravel then the pipe should be clean like mine was after 23 years
Do you do this for customers mate?
@@paulcummins6216 yes they are a customer
Not if your not on the books already
nice video. when would you do the first weed killer. what would you use? And can you apply it in a watering can. and do you sell one.
@@itfc3 you could use one now if it was mild enough then you can seed when spring comes. Theres a playlist on the sloping lawn start to finish from jan- April
Theres an amazon link on my website under recommended products for weedkilers and i wouldnt use a watering can as it needs to stick to the leaf
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert nice one thanks again
Interested in the sprayer, how are you finding it? And why the change?
@@PaddyC90 just easier on small lawns rather than getting the knapsack out, will still use my big one on bigger lawns. Im a berthoud stockist now aswell so also just showing the smaller sprayers as they have professional nozzle capacity. One full pressurisation will almost spray a whole 100mtr without having to push on it on your shoulder but when you do its very easy
Wish I watched the section about rolling out the pipe and holding it down with pegs last year 😂
