This exactly. Half of the cars in this video don't even have a blow off valve (at least a good aftermarket one) and that's why it makes the "woo woo wooo sound" to quote a previous comment
I would say the same, but supra's actually have a BOV, they make that noise because of a valve that shuts when the intake valve closes to prevent compressor surge, and so the air bounces between that valve and the BOV making the choo choo noises.

Ummm. No. You can't hear turbo lag fool. Turbo lag describes the lack of throttle response some turbo engines have. It does not describe the time it takes for the turbo to come on boost, and start producing power as your rpms rise. That's called turbo latency. And the sound you described has nothing to do with either. So maybe you should go do a little Google search, realize you've been using the term turbo lag wrong like 99% of people do. And delete your post.
Horsepower is just a number. Compare cars by build quality, reliability, style, design. A 300hp scubbie can kick the shit out of a 300hp supra. Why? Who knows, maybe one has better awd control, better gear ratio'n, better power flow. Horse power means fuck all in truth
Ronan McHugh Horse power means how far the engine can rev, Even if it stops making more Torque,.. Basically take 2 vehicles that weight the same amount, one desiel one running gas/e85... Both make 350 torque, desiel makes 145 HP at 3k RPM, e85 makes 550 HP at 8K rpm both cars potentially run the exact same 1/4 mile time, The main difference is HP is better for making higher top speeds, torques better for high G force acceleration, haha mike phillips, I see what you mean now, i totally messed up the first half of this paragraph, But it was late :)
Joe Diffy - A turbocharger feeds air into the engine under pressure. Because the air is compressed there's more of it and so, more oxygen. This means in simple terms that you can burn more fuel, extracting more power. Think of it as being able to squeeze twice the amount of fuel / air into the cylinder than you could if there was no pressure - more fuel and air = bigger bang = more power.
