I believe you have to start your jump before the cutscene because demon is a frame 1 grab. So being able to "react" to it becomes a matter of you see the setup or not
9:24 Even after Mago expresses his joy because he won, just right after that he takes solemn mode and says "Thank you, Daigo." That was a fantastic lesson for life: you can express your feelings, but never forget to be serious.
First, Mago is an incredible all around player in different games. Second, he's always been a jokester and seems to enjoy just playing, win or lose. I remember he beat a top american player with his legendary Sagat a while back and yelled YEEEEEHAH!!! afterwards lol!
At first you would think Mago looks like a very serious HR manager for some big company but then I saw images of him back at SBO in the mid 00's (was he playing CvS2? can't remember the game actually) and his whole look was screaming *GANGSTA* all over him. Can't unsee it now
I labbed it and Kage's demon is unblockable after any move that's plus. So heavy axe kick, within 3 frames (frames +0, +1, +2), demon is unblockable. I could be wrong though. I could have the timing of jump off or EX-DP could be off, but I'm very sure it's unblockable after that.
Demon is considered a grab with a 1F startup which means its instantaneous. Basically if you want to avoid it you need to jump or do some invincible move before Kage/Akuma goes into the cutscene. You can always hold up after a blocked heavy axekick to avoid it due to you being ungrabbable during blockstun, you can however punish someone that uses a move against you that leaves them -2 on block (you being +2) like Seths st mp for example. Demon becomes very scary when Kage/Akuma is in a minus -1 or -2 while in range though because the opponent is not in blockstun so they can get grabbed but demon is so fast that they still need to hard read a jump even though its technically "their turn" which just becomes a bait. This is what Daigo does with medium axekick, on block its -2 but leaves him inrange for the demon.
@@BlubiDefault With Hitbox Kage, Daigo struggle to DP especially with EX-DP. He keeps missing the input most of the time. With the Stick he obviously has no problem with it. He's using Hitbox because of his main (Guile). So now he switches Hitbox to Stick inbetween characters.
@@BlubiDefault I kinda remembering that he refuse to change his configuration too much. Daigo wanted Kage to have the same moveset as his Guile so he won't get confused if he wanted to switch characters. So yeah I guess his Guile configuration wasnt compatible with Kage's.
Daigo seemed down when his loyalty test succeed.
Mago might've known, but couldn't react to it, like Nemo.

mago: i will scare him with my chun muhaha

Mago knows not to awaken "the beast".
06:45 At least Mago is loyal...he knew what was coming. lol
cebuanostud Nemo doesn’t watch his streams, but knew it was coming, and still got hit lol
these guys have such colorful personalities outside a tournament setting, it's great.
"i think im done playing kage today" lmao
That match-up is awful tbh
I feel like I watched the first part 10 times already in different video’s
2:23 i like that complete change of attitude ; 6:43 test failed ; 9:12 Mago's victory
Mago acts like my younger brother :-)

Mago is a typical anime vilain
He's the real-life version of Vegeta (Dragon ball)

how nice of you guys to make this
Ume-Chan xD
mago is a really nice guy you find in the arcade..
Finally more Mago, thanks!
That loyalty check was hillarious
That is crazy!
So he made daigo silent rage...
That evil Daigo laugh.
HEHEHEH
This is my favorite anime.
I AM MOE GREENE! YOU DONT BUY ME OUT, I BUY YOU OUT! -Mago

Kwanele urubos Actually, I’m saying you could possibly get an unblockable set up point blank with c.MP.
@@antonsundin2974 not sure what you mean by being - 2 while in range, you mean kage just whiffing a medium stomp? Why would he do that?
@@j.baptistecl.5758 blocked medium stomp into demon. Not canceled but linked.

Mago is a jojo fan, I see

Damn what happened to Charlie?
Is it possible he can take advantage of conditioning you to jump away ?
Sako already covered this. Kage gets a huge combo off of an air hadoken if you think your opponent is going to jump away
I wonder if they know about this channel.
guaranteed cause jinya works with daigo
@@TheCldmstrsn what? this is Jinya's channel?
NO
In Japan matchmaking in 5 minutes Europe matchmaking 30 or more R. I. P sf5 in Europe.

Is he watching Daigo's stream while fighting him?
No a viewer was watching dagios stream then went over to mago's to tell him what daigo said
Lol. Hahaha loyalty test I like
And that ladies and gentleman, is why he don't use kage in tournament
red hawx well, looking at the rank and the color, this was his early kage.
But these are older matches he is so much better with kage now
Owh. sorry. didn't notice that. his rank should be around 300 right now
red hawx even with his early kage this was this decent performance against Chun li since she is now top tier
This is old.
Which stomp version does he use before raging demon?
Heavy because its plus on block, so people usually block after it
@@vacuumhead8430 Looks fast to be the H version to be honest.
watch, but doest mean that can avoided haha

He's being jokingly condescending
