Just ordered the carb kit, I'm tired of jacking with the stock carbs, plus we run a pulse pump and had to install a tee to also send some of the fuel back to the fuel tank. that sure helped control fuel delivery to the stock / modified carbs.
You shouldnt use teflon tape anywhere near fuel.. it will deteriorate the tape and it will gum your carb up. You should use a bit of silicone sealent like permatex.
NOS is not fuel. The engine doesn't run on NOS, like it's some kind of crack for the engine. It just cools, basically freezes, the air charge so more fuel can get in.
Hello Red Beard. Ijust finishded my Generator. I had to take it apart several times to get it right!. I used the 7hp crank and puston. the pistion and crank that came with my new predator 6.5 hp was incorrect for my application. the rod journal was too small to use the new piston. so i cleaned up the old one. it was 6 months old so it looked great. great tip on using antiseize on the flywheel and generator connections to the crankshaft. they come apart easly. after a days work I got er Done! the crankshaft is shorter on the 7hp and the new predator has a hemi head and better valves. I set the valves at .004 .and I also used the 7hp camshaft. it had a bigger spring on the cam govenor. it runs great! I think the engine has more ccs now with the changes made .the old head was flat bottom. the engine runs great on propane ,with lots of power! I will run it mostly on propane because it burns cleaner, resulting in less carbon buildup in my engine. now I guess I will build my old motor totally radical next. where can I buy performance parts online?
How do you tell the carb there is more oxygen than usual, so it can add more fuel? To me it looks like that nitrous kit is just causing a lean condition. I think you need a wet nitrous system for carb engines? Or is there also fuel inside the whippets?

Simple instead of spending 60 bucks just go buy you a 1 lb nitrous bottle used and a fogger nozzle that's all you need plummet to your intake, and of course make sure your carb is jetted for it and you got a way better looking nitrous kit then some tiny little CO2 bottle. Besides I think nitrous is like between 15 to 35 cents a pound depending on where you live other than that great build it's nice to know you can actually pull some power out of some things as long as they're tuned right I'll make sure you got the right exhaust system to.
please do a timed point to point with just motor and then with nitrous so we can compare the real world differences. also just a piece of advice but you should never use teflan with nutrous. it will harden and break off teflan chunks that can end up passing into the carb.

It's a little cleaner look if you install on the manifold just a idea it's easier and guarantees no metal shavings imbedded in the filter just awaiting to dislodge the other reason I came up with this ideas cuz I don't like shitt sticking out their hella far just like the header pipe sticking out there aways I had to Tuck mine away
the 670cc predator comes with a single massive carb for the vtwin cylinder engine I'm contemplating using one of those for my next build but gopowersports has a 390 carb that you can have one for each cylinder and that in turn will help it run better do you think it's possible to run the Nos through the spacer between the cylinder and the carb and whether it would work well or not? Once I have enough saved up I wanna build a minibike from the ground up with the 670cc I love my doodle bug with my modded 212 just 40mph is a lil too slow and not sketchy enough. lol

I disassembled my generator noticing the diffrence in crankshafts the end is tapered with no keyway. can I use my 7hp crank in my new motor? and what mods can I do for a stable smooth engine for my Generator?
I can't help but notice that the nitrous kit trigger looks just like a co2 bicycle tire inflator, which can be had for under $20. If the nitrous cylinders are interchangeable with the co2 cylinders, that could be a cheap DIY option. Any idea if this could work?

They also sell em at porno shops 24/7 for the sole purpose of intentionally inhaling them. They sell a little thing called a cracker, and you fill a balloon with one cartridge and then just huff it until your face turns blue and everything sounds like "wa wa wa" and you fall over laughing. Is exactly like the dentist. Only stupider. They're almost the same size as the co2 cartridges, just a little shorter.
I don't about air cooled engine. But I seen people put nitrous on a bone stock car engine. It scorch the valves and burn cylinders. You think that will do the same to the predator engine?
As long as enough fuel is added with the nitrous, it won’t do any of that. I ran it on a 1641cc bug motor with ported stock heads, cast pistons and mild cam. It went from 71hp at the flywheel to 90 and lasted until I broke a rod.
thats my plan to swap cranks into the new block, and use my 7hp cam and lifters, not shure about the head type on the new block. my generator is dual fuel. i noticed carbon build up on my piston and head, from burning gas. I mostly use propane to power the generator. what caused the head gasket to blow out? poor assembly at factory?
Propane has no oil in it like gasoline does. Its a dry fuel, and no engine will live very long running on it, or CNG for that matter. Clean off that carbon, and adjust the valves periodically, maybe lap them at this point, you know, 6 years later..
may i ask why you didn't install the nitrous on the intake side of the carb? i use to have a base plate NOS on my camaro and it was a bit to much with a 150 shot so i pulled it off
The nos just cools the air going into the engine, cool air is denser, and can carry more fuel, so you'd want it before the carb so it can mix with the gas/air charge. Was your Camero fuel injected? Cause if it was, then the nos plate would go behind the throttle body, which is nothing more than an air valve, and it would still be introducing the NOS behind the fuel injectors, since they're "usually" right in front of the intake ports in a gas engine.
Would it work to install this between the carb and the engine block (on the intake manifold), or does it have to be before the carb? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A fuel injected engine would have it in the manifold. A throttle body just lets in air. The air makes its way thru the intake when it meets the fuel injector, then fuel is introduced. You want that cold air the NOS is creating mixing with the fuel. Carb engines carry the air/fuel mixer thru the entire intake, atomized via the carb, so the NOS should go right into the carb. The difference being, a fuel injected engine can adapt to the lean condition the NOS creates, and not skip a beat. Carb engines need extra fuel to come from somewhere else with the NOS since the carb has no idea it's being fed NOS nor is it capable of a way to just add the correct amount to keep that 14.7 : 1 air fuel ratio.

Yeah I am because this engine will never see over 5500 rpm. You really only need a billet if you are running over 6000rpm. There is a lot of debate on what rpm is the dangerous limit and 6000 or higher is where I would put one on.
Yeah in reality there all dangerous if there not billet. We just have a lot of engines and don't really want to spend about 600 to put billet ones on all of them.

My son and I are building a minibike using a Tillotson 212cc Hemi and changing the carb to a Mikuni 24mm Flat Slide..the question we have is do I need to add a fuel pump to make it run richer for the NOS add on and is there a such thing as running it too rich and would it hurt anything? The Tillotson is mostly stock except for the better filter,exhaust and carb...not sure if I need additional fuel via a bigger carb jet and or additional pump...once again thank you so much for helping us novices ! Yes I understand. That arm is attached to a rod that goes inside the block and works with the gear for the governor. I do not recommend leaving it because it could hit the crank if it was to come loose and mess stuff up. Thats your call if you want to leave it.
I put on one mine, thinking if i was leaning into a turn i was gonna starve it of fuel, but it doesn't need it. It was circulating more fuel back into the gas tank than it ever needed. I let it sit for too long, the diaphragm must have cracked , one day i rode it and i pumped the crankcase full of gasoline via the pulse hose i had tapped into the valve cover. Blew the crank seal off, along with all the oil and the gas it now had in there. That's when i took it off and put an oil catch can on the engine instead. This was on a relatively stock GX160 clone that started life as a generator. It has a Honda crank, billet rod, billet flywheel, some heavier valve springs, but stock carb, stock piston, nothing that would demand more fuel. Spend the money on a gas shut off valve if your carb doesn't already have one.

+Badass Redneck well a turbo needs more fuel when boost comes on. If you run lean you can blow your engine. That's the reason I have did a turbo setup yet. I will do one in the future but only when I do the proper testing and make sure I can compensate for the extra air.
Ok last one lol would this be smart to do on a 250cc blaster that's already been bored jetted upgraded sprockets upgraded cam shaft and a high performance carburetor
How duz this work you would think it would just come out of the air filter you shout Drill and tap the carburetor it would work just like a car motor that way just as for a small block or big block it would be a Actual nitrous it through the carburetor and not have time to escape through the air filter you would get more power than just some advice
I would stay gas but it all depends on what you are trying to do with that engine. The jets doesn't really have anything to do with the cam. The aftermarket cams are just going to open the valves longer and things of that nature.

Man, I've never been able to get a Mikuni tuned right, but I do love the round slide, there is zero loss of motion.

Mikuni has a tune PDF on their site that is great but how I do it is tuneeach circuit separately it will be close enough to final tune from there

Also would make sure your not pushing fuel the wrong way in the carb since the way you have it set up will pressurize the venturi

The Nos kit should work fine running it on the intake like that. Those carbs should do good as well.

yeah thats what you will have to do is swap cranks out

Not really sure. I could have not been torqued to spec in the factory.

If you get it rich enough it will make a bigger difference. You could make more power with other parts but its a cool piece to have on a go kart.

are you still running the stock flywheel on that engine? I hope not because if you are it could easily be a death trap.
Yeah I am because this engine will never see over 5500 rpm. You really only need a billet if you are running over 6000rpm. There is a lot of debate on what rpm is the dangerous limit and 6000 or higher is where I would put one on.
well you removed the governor and for safety reasons I would not risk it but that is just my opinion be safe that is all Im saying.
Yeah in reality there all dangerous if there not billet. We just have a lot of engines and don't really want to spend about 600 to put billet ones on all of them.

Thank you so much for the Videos! Very informative! My son and I are building a minibike using a Tillotson 212cc Hemi and changing the carb to a Mikuni 24mm Flat Slide..the question we have is do I need to add a fuel pump to make it run richer for the NOS add on and is there a such thing as running it too rich and would it hurt anything? The Tillotson is mostly stock except for the better filter,exhaust and carb...not sure if I need additional fuel via a bigger carb jet and or additional pump...once again thank you so much for helping us novices ! Your the man!

I bet I couldn't do his for my cbr250r 2011 motorcycle. It's eletronically feulinjected, so i bt if I did the exact same you did, it would fry the MAF SENSOR

It should be fine to run it on that engine. Nirous is only oxygen. Shouldn't do anything to the MAF

Would a predator with stock piston rod and crank hold up to this? if so hw long before it blow? i have a predator with a bunch of mods but stock lower end it should be pushing double the 6.5 stock hp but i dont wanna blow it up with Nos lol

I have never tried to leave it in. I was always worried that the arm would swing and hit the crank and could mess some stuff up.

Yes I understand. That arm is attached to a rod that goes inside the block and works with the gear for the governor. I do not recommend leaving it because it could hit the crank if it was to come loose and mess stuff up. Thats your call if you want to leave it.

Is there ever any need to put a pulse pump on a gravity feed carb on mini bike?
I put on one mine, thinking if i was leaning into a turn i was gonna starve it of fuel, but it doesn't need it. It was circulating more fuel back into the gas tank than it ever needed. I let it sit for too long, the diaphragm must have cracked , one day i rode it and i pumped the crankcase full of gasoline via the pulse hose i had tapped into the valve cover. Blew the crank seal off, along with all the oil and the gas it now had in there. That's when i took it off and put an oil catch can on the engine instead. This was on a relatively stock GX160 clone that started life as a generator. It has a Honda crank, billet rod, billet flywheel, some heavier valve springs, but stock carb, stock piston, nothing that would demand more fuel.
Spend the money on a gas shut off valve if your carb doesn't already have one.

Need to put a nozzle inside the intake manifold that is jetted correctly and simed directly at the intake valve
Great vid brother keep it up. On the nitrous port get something with a nozzle it might direct the shot better or atomize it better.

Torque converters make a big difference. Also a smaller sprocket on the drive axle makes more top end vs bigger making more torque. Jusy mt two cents.

Six years late, but 3D Motorsports makes a manual clutch that fits (is ot 3/4" shaft?) on my GX160.

+Badass Redneck well a turbo needs more fuel when boost comes on. If you run lean you can blow your engine. That's the reason I have did a turbo setup yet. I will do one in the future but only when I do the proper testing and make sure I can compensate for the extra air.

Yeah you have to hook them up a little different on a 2 stroke but it should be fine. The instructions should go over how to do it.
CORRECTION! that is NOT a 22mm carb! it is a model #VM22 which is actually a 26mm carb!

How duz this work you would think it would just come out of the air filter you shout Drill and tap the carburetor it would work just like a car motor that way just as for a small block or big block it would be a Actual nitrous it through the carburetor and not have time to escape through the air filter you would get more power than just some advice

I would stay gas but it all depends on what you are trying to do with that engine. The jets doesn't really have anything to do with the cam. The aftermarket cams are just going to open the valves longer and things of that nature.
