I've been listening to her sing for years, she was completely tone deaf, she has gotten better through the years and at this point, it has become part of her charm and I would not have it any other way
Used to have a manager who was tone deaf and would sing in the back office while making orders. To hear him sing you would swear he had never heard music before and was only told "singing is just moving your voice up and down while saying words."
She DID get better over time. I might be wrong, but I feel like she tries to force her 'singing' voice a lot when she doesn't really need to; maybe she does it on purpose for training though.
She's not tone deaf. The issue is she cannot match pitch while a song is playing. I've heard her sing songs while there's no music playing and she does just fine. I think her vocal coach needs to have her practice hearing her inner voice more strongly while music is playing. I know this from experience singing karaoke on stream (my friends say I'm really good). She can practice by holding one ear closed (or removing one headphone) so she can hear her own pitch over the music, also if the music is too loud it can drown out your voice. I think she's just taking the wrong kind of lessons if she wants to be a karaoke streamer
I think this is mostly true, but I do think she was largely tone deaf a few years ago, but has practiced and developed her ability to hear tones over the years. She's significantly better now, and I hope she keeps up the effort.
Hot take: music lessons should not be done over the internet. It's too hard to get immediate feedback and settle into a groove with someone when you're constantly talking or playing over each other.
I kind of agree. I was actually surprised when she said she did them online. I feel like in person singing lessons are probably the better way to go. When I took music class in HS my teacher held a note and had us match it and you can *feel* the matching vibration in the air between us. You can't do that online.
I love her but yeah she does not have the most musically gifted ears. But that's okay! It just means she'll have to work harder which she has definitely been doing.

Nimi is a brand new Vtuber. There’s no way you could have listened to her for years. >.>

He’s been in the closet.
She's not that tone deaf. There is worse, but our Nurse has a beautiful singing voice.

Bless her, she's such a darling.
I think those voice lessons are paying off. She sounds far better than I remember a different green VTuber sounding.
She doesnt need to be a diva to be my oshi, her voice is still the best.

As someone who only began singing few years ago, she’s gotten way better than real tone deaf persons.
Real tone deaf persons are very rare and they cannot improve even if they tried hard.
nah i doubt she has, her problem is probably how to use her singing voice efficiently
she can play instrument so yeah :D
