    Fascinating that travel bag companies are now coming up with the most unique ways of traveling with comfort and style. This bag is basically a swiss army knife of bags, its a trolley bag for moving withing airport terminals or hotels and the bag with straps act as a comfort for travelling places like hilly areas, long walks and hiking. The same bag as fascinating features for storing clothes properly, cameras, laptop with charges and other electronic items while travelling. Overrall, this is a fabulous bag for travelers and you hage explained it really well and simple to the point. Big thumbs-up and a really amazing content.

    Hi, I've been following you since 2016, bought the eagle creek doubleback 22, and been travelling solo since. Inspired by you!. After 8 years, the doubleback aged and lost its wheel rubber.. now looking for new bag and coming to ur youtube to look for this! ❤

      @grrrltraveler  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks. That is awesome! 💜
      After years of routine with Doubleback, this will take some mental adjustment. With price investment, the fabric is not EC quality. Grab handle and small front pocket require a mental switch for me. But it surprises me often too.
      It’s been hanging in there and I like that it’s not cost me an arm and leg. 😄
      My blog post of other wheeled options is linked in video. 👍 if this doesn’t suit maybe one of the others will.

    4:28 The hideaway wheel cover is cool! I've been looking at Rick Steves' roller backpack because it's one of the few hybrids I've found that's sized for international carryon. I want something with a double-stem handle for attaching extras. Definitely agree a roller option is easier on the body!

    • @grrrltraveler
      @grrrltraveler  Год назад +2

      My carryon doesn't have a double stem handle. but I wrote a blog guide listing 9 good convertible carryon options out there: grrrltraveler.com/guide-to-wheeled-backpacks/ ;)
      Convertibles are not easy to find and they can go out of stock quickly.
      My written review for this carryon is linked in that article as well.
      Rick Steves has been doing travel for a while so he has good products too.

(won't name it in case that's why I got blocked, but it's 21.5" and has the VERY cool feature of wheels on the other side from straps so drips and muck don't get on your clothes.

    Haven't seen your channel for a while. Now that the dark times are over, I'm finally going to Japan. I like to pack light, and a sneak trick is have a sturdy gym bag folded up inside. Then I'll have room for the toys and trinkets I plan to bring home. I'm going super nerd in Akihabara.

    What's the point of a wheel cover? As opposed to having a full raincover like some other backpacks have?

    • @grrrltraveler
      @grrrltraveler  Год назад +1

      Protect wheels from getting dinged. The bag is also supposed to be water repellant.
      I don’t walk in the rain very often. But that’s me.

    • @jamesonstalanthasyu
      @jamesonstalanthasyu Год назад +1

      @@grrrltraveler ok, i guess I never saw a need to protect wheels from scratches enough to think it needed covers.

    • @TischTosh
      @TischTosh Год назад +5

      The cover protects your clothes from the dirt on the wheels, and cushions your back from the wheels (with other packs). There's another one where the part that hides the straps when it's in wheels mode, folds down to expose the straps and velcros over the wheels. That one has more protection from pokey wheels (though depending on your build, that may not be bothersome).

    • @davidhuntington887
      @davidhuntington887 Год назад +2

      My take on the wheel cover is so when you reach your destination you can deploy the wheel cover and toss the pack on your bed without getting road/sidewalk grime on the spread. I like it!

    • @grrrltraveler
      @grrrltraveler  Год назад

      Ooh I was not a fan of those. You cannot see your contents as a whole but need to dig down into the black hole of your pack.
      You’re best off getting a top loading backpack.

    • @ZombieTomato

      @@grrrltravelerI mean, in addition to the side flap. Imagine having to get something from the top side of the pack in a train with your pack in the middle of your legs. I put extra sweaters there, for example. I can easily get that sweater with my regular backpack but it's a hassle if you have to open the side (and everything falls off).
      I guess you could just open the top, pull the sweater and use one hand to prevent things from falling. A good way to lose something, though.
