For Android 13 users: there is no child processes option in Dev. Settings. You have to put termux to: never sleeping apps. In device care > battery > background usage limits. OK I have spent several hours trying to get this to work, it is a great video, very clear, which is why I am pretty sure I did it all correctly, however at the end I get errors such as 7:13 "nh kex command not found". and on running the ADB script in Powershell (does not have a disable child processes option) I get "Invalid command: set_sync_disabled_for_tests" ? The video and the pdf don't help in any way so using a Samsung Phone running Android 11 - 1UI v3.1 then this is not gonna work as advertised. I have seen comments below saying similarly folk cant get the nh commands to work and they went rooted. I will go that way instead. Thanks anyway it has been fun but I am always skeptical when the word "easy" is used in the description for these things, usually it's anything but easy 8-)

Connection to VNC server failed with reason: failed to Connect to local host/***.*.*.* (port 5901) from /:: (port 33406)...." I changed the vnc to that number (showed at (5:30) ) and it worked! What are the limitations in rootless nh. 4. What to do after installation. Dear guys and Mr.David, Kindly do the needful for my queries. Thankyou...😊
Thank you very much for the video and the PDF, I installed Kali successfully but got some issues when launch Kali: 1) I have to run "nh kex" in Termux before "connect" at nethunter kex otherwise would fail to launch Kali, is it correct? 2) I can only use Kali around 5 mins for each launch, and would shown "connection fail" in Kali, and Termux shown "Process completed (signal 9) - press Enter", after press Enter, Termux will jump out. Any cue?
Android 13 has a phantom process that kills any process that uses cpu above certain threshold. I solved this by installing android studio and connecting my tablet with usb and disabling this feature. Now i have kex running. The thing is, on android 13 i dont have any network interface working but on my old samsung phone i can use firrfox inside kali kex with no issues. I still haven't found a work around without rooting my tablet. The only way to have a kali linux desktop exp on my tablet is through an ec2 instance with ssh tunneling
Hello Sir, first of all thanks for your work, it was a great video ! But I have a question, I followed every step (except the one for the disabling child process cause I have Android 13 so I disabled the phantom process killer using adb) but when I connect to open the gui, I only got a black screen even if everything else is working (I can use keyboard and I can see my mouse) maybe you have an idea of why it doesnt show anything except my mouse ?
I didn't know Vinnie Jones was into cyber security.. No but in all seriousness awesome video, I had missed that you could install it and still have use for it without rooting the phone so I've been holding off on installing it on my Dogee S58 Pro (which sucks but is IP68/MIL-STD-810G compliant). Will give it a go immediately.
Thank you David! This is great! Just a quick follow-up question thou, I was able to successfully install and run the GUI (kex). But there seems to be no internet inside the Kali VM. On the top right corner it says something like "Netwoek Manager is not running". That normal? Pardon my ignorance here, if that's the case then how will it able to exec kali network scripts?
Can someone please help me??? followed the PDF and the video about 5 times now. I manage to download and install net hunter with the ./install-nehunter-termux command then the kali logo comes up I press 1 for install full it downloads the full 2gb file successfully but I don't see the same screen as shown and it doesn't ask me to delete root! it just downloads successfully then goes back to the termux command line
@Anonyymiii someone on Facebook managed to help me sort it. Basically run the ./install command then run it again and when it says "there is already an existing file do you want to delete it and install the new one ?" Click No (N) and it will then extract the root file instead of downloading again
bro i am stuck there too, i tried re installing it multiple times, at the end it always prints "Configuring NetHunter for Termux" and right after returns the command line prompt, idk what to do
Sir,, i got this err.. [*] Configuring NetHunter for Termux ... ./install-nethunter-termux: line 363: kali-arm64/etc/resolv.conf: No such file or directory
Thanks Sir David mine is working perfectly now. ❤ i use ADB over Wi-Fi since i don't have a computer ,and on my android 13 theres no disable child process on dev options 😅
Would be interesting to see a video how to set up kali on older phones that people may still have around in their houses. Maybe like a samsung galaxy note 4 or some other old ones.
Without rooting your phone, Nethunter's capabilities are limited. You won't have full access to certain features like monitor mode for your network adapter, which is essential for some advanced Wi-Fi attacks. Root access is typically required for such low-level operations on Android devices. While you can still use some tools and features in Nethunter without rooting, for the full range of capabilities, rooting your device is recommended. Keep in mind that rooting can void your warranty and may pose security risks, so proceed with caution.
I have tried this multiple times and when I try to open the gui I keep getting errors connection failed connection refused.Even when I run nmap on the command line it isn't working. I have a samsung 23+ if it matters.
8:19 I don't have the option to agree or the other option to import anything does anyone know why and is it important? Edit got it didn't matter do I need to setup the termux everytime or is it a one time and done thing second it takes around 3-6 mins to boot me to the kali gui and I can't do anything there does anyone have a fix?
Really good "how-to" but what are the limitations of running it on android as I've always ran Kali and Parrot on my laptops. How versatile is it on a smartphone?
Hello everyone, with this version (without root), can I use the tools in kali nethunter related to hacking wifi and bluetooth, such functions usually did not work in rootless androids. If someone has tried, I am waiting for your answer. Thanks

After following your exact instructions, at the step where we need to install Nethunter KeX it won't let me do that, it keeps saying "there was a problem while parsing the package" and I can't get around that, I restarted the phone, I tried downloading the apk from my pc then transferring it over to my phone and nothing worked, same error message again and again

Hey David,
I just wanted to drop a massive THANK YOU for your Kali Linux on Android 14 tutorial! 🙌 Your step-by-step guide made me feel like a tech wizard, and now my phone thinks it's a computer - it's a wild, wild world out here! 📱💻
You're the real MVP for sharing your knowledge and making it fun! 🌟 Can't wait to see what kind of hacking shenanigans I can pull off now! 😄
Cheers,
When I use chmod +x install-nethunter-termux along with ./install-nethunter-termux it responds with error404 not found. What do I do now?
David that was an amazing video, thanks so much and that is why I like Android much better than an iPhone!
I remember doing this 4yrs ago, btw good luck with getting network interfaces working
Do you know a way to do so without root on the device?
Even with root it feels nearly impossible. With S6 Edge i was able to.
How to do it
I can't use internet in kali linux on my smartphone

Thank you David, I already installed kali Linux before this video was uploaded, but my cousin didn't know and he had some errors, so when he saw this video, it came in clutch 😂
If you run into the 404 error, hit "nano install-nethunter-termux" then go by BASE URL, at the end of that link you'll see current, change that to "kali-2024.2" then continue, if you don't know how to save hit "CNTRL ^" then hit "CNTRL X" then "CNTRL Y" then enter, continue with the installation from there
still getting 404 but thanks

thanks for the tut! install on Lenovo Xiaoxin 12.7" 2023 tablet.
those with "child processes signal 9" issue, you have two options, give up the install or READ the video's description.
Anyone else having issues trying to imstall ( chmod +x install-nethunter-termux) its says no such file or directory, what am i doing wrong?
Be careful not to have misspelled, typically people use an extra "install" in "chmod +x install-nethunter-termux". Make sure you did not write "chmod +x install install-nethunter-termux".
It saves as the end of the link for the download
You can cek in $ls -al and execute file chmod 777 or 744./(name file)
"./" This is Bash command
And execute again ./install-kalinethunter-termux

Check your command.. it's case sensitive
I entered "N" just like you did here 4:29, but instead met with this error message, "Configuring NetHunter for Termux ...
./install-nethunter-termux: line 360: kali-arm64/etc/resolv.conf: No such file or directory." Please help. I even reinstalled it after it asked me if i use the existing image file or delete it and create new file. What do i do can anybody fix this?
Thankyou david, im finally able to install kali on my android. But the problem is when i open it for a few minutes, it say “error. Connection failed!” And i wonder if anything i can do to fix it? Can you help me?
same here :( solution: type termux-change-repo then select a new one and try again
Or just restart termux
1) nh

I get all the way to ./install but when i set it up i get 404 not found
Me too
Running on Android 13 and was having the dbus problem, this fixed but at first when opening the kex client it would give an error
"connection failed.

I changed the vnc to that number (showed at (5:30) ) and it worked! Still crashes after a few minutes, but progress is progress!
I am getting 404 while running ./install-nethunter-termux and the url for the image also gives 404

Thank you ,now i have my own kali Linux ♥️♥️
Thank you very much for the video and the PDF, I installed Kali successfully but got some issues when launch Kali:
1) I have to run "nh kex" in Termux before "connect" at nethunter kex otherwise would fail to launch Kali, is it correct?
2) I can only use Kali around 5 mins for each launch, and would shown "connection fail" in Kali, and Termux shown "Process completed (signal 9) - press Enter", after press Enter, Termux will jump out.
Any cue?

Same here. Fail to connect
That's Android which is killing the processes
Android 13 has a phantom process that kills any process that uses cpu above certain threshold. I solved this by installing android studio and connecting my tablet with usb and disabling this feature. Now i have kex running. The thing is, on android 13 i dont have any network interface working but on my old samsung phone i can use firrfox inside kali kex with no issues. I still haven't found a work around without rooting my tablet.
The only way to have a kali linux desktop exp on my tablet is through an ec2 instance with ssh tunneling

Thank you David! This is great! Just a quick follow-up question thou, I was able to successfully install and run the GUI (kex). But there seems to be no internet inside the Kali VM. @Anonyymiii someone on Facebook managed to help me sort it. Basically run the ./install command then run it again and when it says "there is already an existing file do you want to delete it and install the new one ?" Click No (N) and it will then extract the root file instead of downloading again

What is the limitations of rootless?
