What I will always love about this series is that we initially see Victor as a miserable old man (which is partly true), but as the series went on you realise that he is actually a sympathetic character, reacting to unfairness (real and/or percieved) in the world. This moment where he sets down that snobby bastard is particularly memorable for me.

Everyone loves Only Fools And Horses, revered, rightly so, as top-notch british comedy.
I'd argue that One Foot In The Grave is equally as good.
Victor is a curmudgeonly old bastard, yet despite his obvious flaws, you can't help but like him.

It’s actually quite poignant at one stage. Also, that guy talks about respect. Well, maybe he should learn that you show respect to others if you want to be respected. As well as learning how to use a fucking door handle.

Best scene ever
The old man across the road is an amputee but still manages to get out of his car unaided, yet that pair of insufferable snobs, while being perfectly capable of opening a car door, themselves, expect other people to do it for them, all whilst looking and talking down to them and treating them like second class citizens.
You'll get that everywhere
Nothing worse than snobs and people who think they're better than other people.
As someone who has experience working in a 5 star hotel, these rude guests exist, and the staff, although polite and respectful to their faces, will pass comment behind closed doors, believe me.

I believe that the actor playing toupeé head was also the hotel guest that Mr Bean challenged to an unwanted eating contest at a fancy hotel (where he ate bad oysters!)
Victor was considered a old moan to casual viewers but to avid viewers they knew where he was coming from considering he was dealing with a lot of nut jobs.
Ha, ha! You can always spot a broke man. He always points out how expensive his stuff is and covets ( not sure of spelling) it. A wealthy man always points out the bargains he got and wants everyone to share it and his excitement. Granted those bargains can still cost more then what most of us earn in a year.

As I get older, I start to understand why Victor Meldrew behaves the way he does. If I had to deal with such jumped up, smug and arrogant people in person, I would feel like doing the same as Victor.

This is only the second part. The first one showed two women chatting and Victor opening and closing the door thinking the woman was going in.
Poignant scene, Victor is an all-timer (and an old-timer)
And this is precisely why capitalism _and_ wealth inequality need to be abolished.
More like people with godawful manners must be abolished. And horrible bosses.
You have access to the internet and a device for going online. I'll bet you also have food in your tummy and a roof overhead. Globally you're in the top 1% when it comes to wealth. What needs to be abolished is global injustice and snobby attitudes.
